I like my Garrus to look alien as well. It just makes him more interesting to look at.

Also I would like to have a Garrus plushie as well. One that talks and has a sniper rifle would be perfect for me.

Nothing new about Garrus but they are still playing all demos with him and Liara. I guess that means they believe he could be in most of the players ME2 saved game.

I would still like to learn something new about our favorte Turian but at the same time i dont want too many spoilers. Marsh is so far!

Theres a song named "Celebration" on my playlist. I read it as "Calibration."
I was damn confused for a while.

i go through my Netflix lists... and there's a movie called Archangel and every time i see the name i want it ot be about Garrus.

There's also, a bit further down the same list a movie called Subject 0.

What can that mean with Garrus? Will he stand up to Shep ?


Also Casey confirmed friendships will go more in-depth. No more calibration stonewalling.

I wonbt if paragon/renegade will mean interfere in such a situation. If you paragon him he proposes a paraogn solution and if you renegade him he proposes arenegade solution... and if you odnt listen to him, he gets angry (well hes been listening to Shep all taht time, i can see him be more confident about his choices in ME3).

I purposely like to keep opposing moralities between Garrus and Shepard.. it will be interesting to see how that will play out in ME3, would love him to stand up and disagree. Maybe he'll try to take charge of the situation and show off some of those leadership qualities?

Regardless of what the disagreement is about, I'm sure my Shepard will inevitably relent to Garrus' wishes, even if it forces her to go against her own moral code. I just can't say no to that guy, he's been rejected enough already. He might be a bit crazy and totally renegade at times, but his heart is always in the right place and he wants to do the right thing ultimately. Even the most paragon of Shepards could respect that.

When hes fully alien (avian-raptor-cat like) he looks like a unique piece of art, not a dude with a mask (but the picture is still nice, the artist is talented. Its jsut not how I picture Garrus).

I really like this fan art by ghost fire on deviant art. I think that her representation of what a turian would look like under the armor is really spot on.

i do pretty much the same thing regarding Shep and Garrus morality. I like that it gives me the oportunity to emphasis how she respect that he has his own idea. My Shep would never disagree enough with garrus to make it a deal breaker because A) hes got a strong sense of justice so he isnt crazy she isnt against renegade options if its the best way. Its simply that usually you can get sthe same or better outcome with a paragon decision C) Garrus isnt against paragon decisions. He even accepts to spare Sidonis. So a deal breaker move with him would have to be pretty crazy and unjust (id say Zaeed LM might be near the limit for Garrus. Hes a renagade but he would probably find it difficult to pass trapped civilians crying for help and not press those sprinklers buttons)

I will be glad to have a friendship with Garrus, I look at Varric in DA2 and think, that should be Shepard and Garrus.

I'm looking forward to the deeper relationships/friendships in ME3. He always ignored me for Calibrations. T_T

Judging by what has been hinted by reading Garrus' dossier from the Shadow broker and also knowledge that we will FINALLY be able to travel to Palaven, ME3 will have some sort of assignment or mission dealing with Garrus' family. Since it has to do with his (sister?) and his sick mother, I'm looking forward to finally seeing the female turians in the game.

You know, I really love this picture for the emotion and tenderness that it expresses but at the same time it goes completely against my headcanon of what a shirtless turian would look like. I've been meaning to voice these thoughts/opinions for awhile but seeing as this is a popular and well-loved piece, didn't want to ruin the mood. But what the heck, I'm chock full of opinions to share.

The detailing on the carapace/plating is nice but I feel like it goes over the top. It makes the plates look too jagged and rough and while I'm sure they aren't smooth (come on, chafing has to have some merit here), I doubt they are that rock-like and "edgy" either. The fanart isn't too consistent with the official concept art (ok, it's concept, we can't take it too close to heart after all but..) because it really exaggerates the shoulders and "flattens" the torso. There's too much exposed skin and personally I would like the exoskeleton to be more obvious and practical in coverage. The torso plates especially seem too human-like, complete with abs and pectorals that you'd expect to see.

I'm all for Garrus having a human-like personality and mannerisms but his appearance should be distinctly turian. It's part of his character, one of the major aspects about Garrus is that he doesn't quite fit in with his own people. A visual contrast, looking turian but acting quite human, conveys that message so that it is obvious enough to make us take note of it.

Another thing that I find that I often dislike in most Garrus/turian art in general is the shape of the cowl/collar. Some don't add it at all, some make it look too small, some make it look too big, some make it look to much like a tortoise shell making it hard to distinguish between turian and krogan at times. While I know the official artists haven't made up their minds on what it is supposed to look like, my favourite image has to be this one:



Not just because it's a stupid sexy pose but because of the shape of the collar and the plates. It looks like a rather protective exoskeleton and is consistent with the armour/casual clothing that we see turians wearing in the game. It's definitely alien yet still attractive and all the right proportions are maintained. There are no overly exaggerated details (like the shoulders in the previous picture) and it's nice, sleek, simple and ticks all the right boxes in my "What does a shirtless turian look like?" list.

I know this is something we could debate and speculate over for hours as there is no official right or wrong answer but I'll take a more alien appearance over a mostly human one any day.

Agreed with both u and Outmane. I love garrus because he's not very humanoid. I find a turians physique quite ...whats a word.....hypnotic & intriguing at the same time? XD If I wanted humanoid, than i'll go with a human....or Thane.
But no! Gimme some turian!

This a million times. Ultimately Garrus sees the good in most decisions, leading him to accept the paragon choices. Its just the rash behaviour that leads him to really seem like more renegade. But yes - his heart is in the right place. Im now very curious about ME3 and how characters will react. I was always curious about this in me2 because it got more personal. If teammates can actually have more of a word on decisions, by all means do it bioware! Do you have any idea have much I wanted to hear everyone's POV on the whole herectic rewrite/destroy decision!? I restarted that mission 12 times to hear the beginning part where Legion brings up the rewrite and the teammates offer their opinion. 12 TIMES! NOT KIDDING! I value my team and they have a say in the matter. Garrus' POV was spot on since he referred to indoctrination. Give him more of a chance to voice his opinions and thoughts, and Shepard will be happy to oblige.
 
This was sparked in me2 with the "fights" aboard the normandy. Miranda & Jack, and also Tali & Legion. It could show an impact on certain situations that could have a small impact on people. Particularly Tali&Legion, whereas the actual decision of Legions LM turns up in the conversation.

the first picture really is beautifully vivif and detailed... but still has those plates.  the random ones. and i sitll dont agree with that. i'm thinkin carapace.

As for the cowl? Nothing annoys me more when people completely miss it out in fanart. Aliens have things like that because they look different to humans. No point in trying to humanise and alien. But luckily there isn't much fanart like that out there.
