@Karrie788: I know what you mean about personal Shep's. I have a hard time even changing hair/eye/skin color even if I keep the same facial structure. Sad I know.

I've come to love my Lexane just as much as I love Garrus.

It's not sad at all, I'll tell you what's sad. Spending litterally an entire hour recreating your FemShep's face from ME1 to ME2, up to every last detail, just to change her haircut.

Yes, I did that.

Btw, off topic question, but since we shared our lady Shep stories, I was wondering: what made you decide on your Shep's first name?

I'd buy that comic.

The only thing I've adjusted about my FemShep was her makeup and hair style, in retrospec to how she's matured over the games.

I was literally just playing around with fragments of words and names when I settled on Kaliya.  Humans are supposed to be more of a cultural and racial melting pot in the ME-verse, and I wanted her name to reflect that.

The same way I name all my characters, I skimmed through baby names and repeated them in my head until something looked and felt right. It has to match up with that characters looks and personality imo.

Deirdre Shepard was my first female Shepard, and it just seemed to stick. I only just recently discovered however that it actually means 'Sorrowful'.

Oddly enough no. Posted Image

And awesome video, silentstephi. I like your Shep's face. :)

What's funny is that... it doesn't feel quite right when it's not *your* Shep.

Agreed it is a fantastic video, but you're right. It's especially jarring I think for me since my Shep looks so different from most that I've seen. Here's a link if you want to see her: http://i50.photobuck...11/IMG_0547.jpg

Sorry for the crappy photo quality, I'm on Xbox.

@Karrie788: Names origins and meanings is sorta a hobby of mine. I picked Zoë though because it's Greek for Life. And since Shepard is all about saving the galaxy I found it fitting. My Shep is also a mix of Greek, Israeli, French, Romanian, and Egyptian. I chose cultures that either had roots to early civilizations or where religious battles took place. Playing with the names and being literal my Shep basically means 'guarding life' since Shepard is a variant of Shepherd and they guard the flock of sheep from wolves.

This is she in case anyone is interested.

Well here goes my headcannoning about how my shep fell in love with our favorite Turian:

Joan Shepard is a Spacer/sole survivor  and a paragon with renegade moments (especially in ME2 because she's got a hefty amount of anger about the whole being dead for two years and nobody doing anything about the reaper threat during that time)

She was in a relationship with her squadmate, who died on Akuze and during ME1 she was still mourning him and the last thing she wanted was to get romantically invovled with another crewmate so she was pretty harsh with Liara and Kaidan when they expressed their interest in her.

She and Garrus became buddies in ME1, although she didn't approve of his hot-headedness and thought he might be too much of a renegade at times. She recognized they shared a thirst for justice in the world, although they have diffrent ideas of what qualifies as justice and what the limits are: Joan's philosophy being that vengence breeds more vengence where, as we all know, Garrus is more of an 'eye for an eye' kinda guy.

I think falling in love with him snuck up on her.. and then hit her like a hammer. When he got hit by that rocket she was completely distraught and  it felt like loosing her lover on Akuze all over again... she realized her feelings for him were stronger than she thought and that scared the hell out of her.

I think in ME2 it's obvious that they really care about each other deeply but they turn to humor whenever the subject of their emotions rears it's head... since Garrus (ever the pessimist) is just waiting for the moment that he screws it all up and Joan is terrified of her own feelings. I think during their first night together though all the joking and akwardness falls to the wayside (like in the scene how it shifts from G's joking to his honest confession that he just want's something in his life to go right) and for those couple of hours they just let go of all the horrible crap that's going on and find solace in each other.

Whew sorry for the wall of text.. that came out longer than I thought it would.. :pinched:

I should probs just start up a fanfiction about these two.

I like her! Here's mine: http://social.biowar...1108/190727.jpg

As for her name, Lexane, I have a weird habit of creating redheads with a name derived from the name Alexandra. No idea why. Alexandra was my Bhaalspawn in Baldur's Gate.

It means "protector of humanity". It fits. :P

Thanks for the answers, guys.

Esperanza is a name I've always been fond of. And it's a bloody good name for a big galactic hero, since it roughly translates as hope, with a note of... hell, I guess you'd say optimism. Also it rolls off the tongue nicely and doesn't have a ton of connotations as far as other characters go.

My Shepard playlist WOULD include "Don't Fear The Reaper." But most of Esperanza's playlist would be Ricardo Arjona, Malpais and Santana. >>

Thanks! I like your Shep too. Posted Image The problem with Sara is I can't get her to look quite the same in ME1 or ME2 tis frustrating!

Sara means "Princess" according to my sister. Which is funny if you think about that conversation you have with Harkin in ME1. "Call me 'princess' again and you'll be picking you teeth up of the floor!" lol

 Nice.

To be honest I had trouble keeping Lex's face consistant as well, considering how much the graphics have evolved. In the end I'm fairly happy with what I ended up with, but she does look different from game to game regardless : social.bioware.com//uploads_user/3212000/3211108/190728.jpg

BTW, her last expression: best facial expression in the entire game.

Since I'm on a ps3 I have to use my camera phone. Really hard to get a good shot, especially since at times with the ponytail it made her forehead look big.

I find that a lot of people's Sheps are bad at feelings.  It probably comes from the fact that no matter what the personality or backstory, Shep's a badass soldier who often doesn't have time to reflect on things beyond war.

My ManShep is surprisingly good about it, though he's also a bit of a frat-boy ass ^_^  I really should get around to playing him but knowing how the game ends and how little screentime his LI Miranda has is discouraging.

He saved my Shep mid-battle many times, by me activating powers and making him concussive shot the guy about to kill me. xD

Pretty much the story of my life whenever I got flanked :pinched:  Enemies sure like to do that in ME3.

Vakarians concussive shot is incredibly usefull. Not  that many enemies actualy manages to come close to a decently leveled and equipped Garrus. Perhaps I should ba annoyed by him stealing my kills all the time with his darn headshots but since he is awesome I can't.

Apparently if you turn down Garrus before the Cerberus base, he'll still send you a message on that app but it will be different.  I don't know how to insert images, but here's what it says:

"Just wanted to say even with all this craziness, you're still a beautiful sight. Get some sleep. Love G"

All I have to say is this: stupid sexy turian.

I'd go on at length about my Shep and her relationship, but I don't want to like, necro the thread. :3

So after watching the human romances...anyone wish garrus and femshep actually had some kind of "sex scene"? It seemed they had a scene missing between the kiss and the waking up moment compared to the others. It's the only thing I thought was lacking other than that EVERYTHING else was perfect.

I think there was more sexual innuendo in the original dialogue that was changed. Teasing about feeling wired "after our little performance" and "you really got my motor running" but I'm kinda glad they lost it, because that would have made it feel more like Kaidan's romance...  It's still pretty heavily implied that they have lots of sex LOL (and Garrus is "getting really good" at it xD), but for me I liked that it didn't trade the "love" in the relationship for the physicality. It made the relationship seem healthier. Also I think leaving it somewhat to the imagination keeps Garrus more universally appealing with the focus being on his voice/personality rather than emphasizing his alien-ness for those more moderate Garrus fangirls that haven't made that jump to complete xenophilia. That being said, personally, I'm all for shirtless Garrus though . Headcanon ftw.
