Is it me, or is his eye more visible in ME3 than 2? Also, never realised how sharp his teeth were till ME3 - yikes!

But *Swoon*

Turians have incredibly sharp teeth.  Which...I find kind of hot

My question is how would he bite Shep? How far do the the mandibles stretch out?

Damn, I still have a 25-pages report to finish writing and I keep hanging out here and swooning over that stupid turian grin.

Doesn't matter, my Shep wouldn't like it XD too sharp is too sharp. Nice to look at, granted.

The mandibles stretch out pretty far, but I'm curious to know how flexible they are.

Plus I think they can open their mouths pretty wide vertically, at least from some of the comics/concept drawings we've seen. So I can totally see it.

What always made me wonder is how dry their mouths must be. They don't have a perfect seal, at least it doesn't look like it. So either they salivate a lot or not at all. Which probably means they've got really raspy tongues, to help with predigesting their food, right?

/shuffles feet\\ Maybe been thinking about this too much...

WUT.

That did not happen to me!

...unless I just forgot.

But I seriously don't remember it. Is it default dialogue or did I miss something?

LOL, we've had five years to think about this, I think we can go a little overboard ^_^

I think they've probably got raspy and drier mouths.  Their teeth kind of remind me of those of a cat or other obligate carnivore; they're for tearing and ripping, not chewing, so their tongues are probably a bit like kitty tongues.  Which means that frenching a turian is probably a bad idea, but seriously it wouldn't stop my Shep.  She's more than a little kinky anyway once Garrus breaks through her ice queen exterior :P

@silentstephi: I always wondered how dry or wet their mouths were too. I imagine dry, like a bird.

Actually I wonder how strong Turian senses are. I imagine strong eye sight, the way their noses are make me think they have a better sense of smell than humans. Not sure about taste, if they are like birds then their taste might be weaker than humans. The fact that they have flanging in their voices probably means the hearing is good too, to pick up on subtle nuances. Touch I imagine is less sensitive. What do you guys think?

They're apex predators, so they would probably have quite keen senses.  If they're avian based, they probably have excellent sight and hearing.  Touch...I think would be less sensitive than humans given their much thicker skin.  Smell and taste vary widely among reptiles and birds, and are usually more integrated into one sense than they are in humans.  Maybe turians have a vomeronasal organ like cats.

Considering Turians seem to be evolved from predators I would say they have an excellent sense of smell, hearing and eyesight. I would say however, that a human's sense of touch and taste would be better.

Sometime during his loyalty mission in ME 2, he mentions something about smelling that bastard Harkin... not sure if this should be taken literally.

Edit: SEcond screnshot is made of epic win Garrus.

Hello everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster here.

I'm currently working on a project that inserts a clip of Garrus in the ending flashbacks (replacing Liara's or Joker's, for example). I'll upload and share it here once it's complete.

Anyone have suggestions as to what that clip should be? Meeting him in ME1/ME2? The headbump? His goofy grin before the dipsmooch? Preferably something close-up, where Shepard is not shown in the clip, so that everyone can enjoy it equally.

Thanks! :wizard:

New. Favourite. Picture.

Also, I would say use the "Never" clip of him.  Or the bit from ME2 where he is like "Right, as I'm in a great place for calibrating right now," or something to that effect.

Welcome to the Garrus thread.  And thank you so much for working on getting Garrus into the ending flashbacks.

My recommendation would be either his grin before the dipsmooch or the moment you reunite with him in ME2.

If they're like birds, they don't have much saliva.

And they probably are, because we know that turians have gizzards.  Which means they don't need to chew their food as much.  Which makes sense because those teeth are obviously not made for chewing, but rather tearing and poking.  So yeah, dry mouth.  And the mouth texture did make their tongues look raspy--although my real-world pet bird does not have a raspy tongue (most birds don't).  So that's questionable.

And, well, if they did have a lot of saliva wouldn't they always be drooling?  As you said, the mouth doesn't really seal that well with those mandibles...

... And as for the pointy "rending" teeth... that is why I don't think being bitten would be a good idea for Shepard.  Maybe some gentle nibbling with the beak part of the mouth, possibly with the mandibles as well.  And I'm sure I've just given the pervier of the fans here some interesting mental images with that comment, so I'm gonna shut up now.
