Hi, it's been a while since I was on the Garrus thread. I wanted to stay clear of anything to do with ME for the past year until I played the 3rd game. I missed this thread so much >.> I loved how they did the Garrus romance in the 3rd game. I certainly wasn't expecting him to suggest having kids with Shep. I was pleasantly surprised. My only issue was that Garrus was completely dressed for their 'special scene' and my shep was in her underclothes. I would've at least liked to have seen a naked turian arm!

No, she does. BioWare really pushed Kaidan on FemShep even if you ignored his ass previously. I modded Ashley into my game instead this time.

WHAT? Really?

:pinched:

Oh dear freaking spirits.  I COULD see Kaiidan still carrying a torch for my FemShep, though.  Ugh, that's both creepy and sad.

I'm even happier that I killed him.

... that sounded terrible, didn't it?

Yeah, even though I didn't romance him or even began his romance in ME1, my Shep was way too worried and wistful over Kaidan for comfort. Like, my Shepard wouldn't be unfeeling or anything, but she wouldn't be having sad whispery bedside monologues about how much she needs him to get better or whatever. It's not as melodramatic with Ashley, so I'm sticking to her from now on. And then Kaidan confessed he had ~feelings~ for my Shep and I was just like... dude, everyone knows I'm with Garrus. Stop. I reloaded and did the date with Garrus before talking to him so it locked Kaidan out of romantic dialogue. Still annyoing, though.

The lack of options in dialogue/reaction does bug me too. Like, you don't get the option whether you want to give Kaidan the gift or not if you happened to buy it without knowing. Or flirting with Vega, even if it's joking.

Hey, honesty is a virtue, sister :D

Oh well.  I think I'll still like him better than Ash in ME3.  I liked her a lot in ME1 and even was ok in ME2, but she just grabbed the idiot ball and sprinted with it in ME3.

I wish I had her, less annoying than Kaidan and I could make fun of her when she's drunk.

But I don't wanna replay ME1 :( Why? Because I loathe the inventory system, the mako travelling and the omnigel minigame with a burning passion.

Yeah, I liked Ash, but I liked Kaidan a lot more. But in ME3, he just annoys me :/ Haven't played with Ash so I can't compare yet ><

I think I'll just lock in Garrusmance as soon as I can.

I'm replaying with a NG+ so I already have almost the best weapons and armor and infinite money.  SO MUCH EASIER.  And I do enjoy ME1's broken biotics.

I dunno about which to have in ME3.  I like Ash better in ME3, but I've heard Kaidan's less of a biznatch than she is in ME3.  I'd rather like them both than hate them both over ME3, so I think I'll off Ash on Virmire while she's still really likeable and import Kaidan to ME3.

I hate that on Mars, when I chose a Paragon option, it ended up with Shep practically making a move on Kaidan. I was like "HELL NO" *reload*

What bothered me most about Kaidan was how Shepard reacted. For example, she has to tell Thane she's at the hospital to visit a friend who was injured. Not him. What? Seriously?

The friend she came to see is Thane. There's another guy in there she may visit too, but they were never close and are barely on speaking terms. Assuming Thane is an afterthought irks me every time.

Random: I do one of those paid-to-survey things in my spare time for some pocket cash. Was rating commercials, one of the commercials was Brandon Keener's cellphone commercial. It made me happy. It seems wherever I go I can't escape him. Not that I want to. <3

I have no issues with Kaidan, I just had issues that I had to be an ass to him to not be locked into a romance with him.

Yeah, when in order to not hit on him, it is pretty much "Get the hell out" attitude. I would rather let him down more nicely. I think my Shep handled it well in the hospital scene when she tells him she is with Garrus. She was like "well you were a bit of a douche" kind of explanation.

I'm ok with being mean to him to get him to stop hitting on me.  It worked well enough ME1 ^_^

dont hate Kaidan with a passion,I actually liked him alot and his role in ME2 was fine. Its good to have someone dhallenging Shep now and then. But now that im running my faithful Shep in ME3... feel theres something lacking with him. He really is spending half the game reenacting Horizon 2.0. Questionning shep once is fine (except when my Shep is of sole survivor background, but i guess you cant account for everything with such a large game)

But what good is it to keep at it and put her in question like 3 times. If she was working for Cerberus, she wouldnt jsut roll in foetal position and say 'Yes Im indoctrinated! Shoot me!'. Maybe if he went to Chakwad and tried to see her medical record to know if she had a chip implanted. Anything constructive would make sense. Not whining.

You spend half the game wondering if he will come around and when he finally gets onto the ship and you get to play with him... bam youre dead. It lacks the 'highly efficient couple snarking and oneuping each other' vibe you get from Garrus. Such a nice video game romance really, cause you get to do the important thing: play with him and collect little flirting comments here and there.

Yeah, my Shep took mostly neutral options in the previous games (I'm a big cheater and edited my paragon and renegade points for RP purposes). The lack of them in ME3... I attributed personality changes to it being the robot monster apocalypse and all.

I like Kaidan a lot, I just don't like being forced to love him.

I'm not sure what my favorite part is. It's either the "Levo Tolerance" or the fact that Liara is also in the squad (Bow chikka bow wow).

I miss using the neutral options, too. I always liked having a 'middle ground' to take.

On another topic, I find myself spending less time doing objectives and more time running up to turians everywhere and staring at their faces to see their fancy tattoos. I like deciding that some of them are female, too.

Aaaand another thing- anyone else notice the leaves falling from some trees on the Citadel? They sort of litter the floor, too. Those kinds of details make me think "BW are awesome".

But then I think of the endings and everything is terrible again ;A;

I think my favorite is that Stamina still has the description for Concussive Shot.  Exploding with bone-crushing force

Shep might like it rough, but I think that's going a bit too far.

Sister, repeat after me: The. Endings. Never. Happened.

On an unrelated note, I'm replaying Lexane in ME2. She's falling in love. I absolutely love roleplaying her falling in love. Reminds me why I like ME so much.
