apparently after you and garrus do the deed...if you choose the renegade option when he asks what's bothering you, Shepard will say "I'm fine, just a little wired." And Garrus will respond, "Even after our little performance??" i almost want to play again just to hear him say that

I've noticed there are specific differences between Garrus and Kaidan, or other romances. In the end, I think this amounted to their relationship. Kaidan, to a point, still feels like a honeymoon stage.

This is how it felt to me also. Kaidan is a quite interesting LI option, but I feel his romance arc wasnt handled as well as Garrus. Kaidan being availible only for the last third of the game felt like he wasnt as integrated in the game as during ME1. I mean we had the whole ME2 to ponder about if shep and him should mend things up or go their own way. Why put him in the hospital 2 thirds of the game? Its not a bad story persay, but its just not as rewarding in a video game as having Garrus by your side in every mission. He's got so much more dialogue with She pand with the crew, it really feels like its his ship too at the end.

Also, the ending makes romancing Kaidan that much more painful. Just as things feel like they are getting better... youre dead. At least with Garrus you can say 'its all about the journey'. I dont really like that his romance arc felt like they went back to the beginning. 'honeymoon stage' like you say so well. I mean if Shep waited so long for Kaidan et Kaidan for Shep, it would have been nice to feel the connection there right away.

Kaidan is a spectre now too, having him on the Normandy should mean giving him a chance to take more responsabilities, mingle more with the crew, discuss things with Shep. ME3 gave me that annoying feeling that around Shepard, Kaidan loses all his initiative whereas Garrus just multiplies the badass factor. I wish Kaidan had that chance to shine too, specially since they say at the beginning of the game that he's become very capable, he's got his own spec ops team and a spectre status.

Aw, thanks, guys.

I'm in that kind of mood, since I just replayed his romance scenes again.

Also, since someone was saying earlier they were upset about not being able to shoot Kaidan during the coup. You CAN shoot them by simply not choosing the paragon/renegade choice options, even if you did save the salarian counsellor.

Story wise, I preferred shooting Kaidan, more emotional. Garrus, Liara, EDI and Joker had WONDERFUL dialogue.

I was also lacking people in my wall of fallen.

Why, what did garrus say if you shot him?

Nothing romance specific, but I did this on my canon MaleShep run, who romanced Tali. (Despite everything Kaidan did to her, my FemShep still loved Kaidan, hell, I couldn't even bring Garrus to shoot him, and yes that IS an option.)

I will attempt it on a new run though, when and if I get around to it.

DanaDuchy has uploaded a video of what happens if you let Garrus shoot him and though, which was beautfiul. www.youtube.com/watch

Garrus more or less understands why Shepard did what he had to do, saying they'll be even more casualities in this war, etc.

I wonder if it's different if the VS was romanced.

I have been pondering does Garrus spend most of his nights at Shepard's quarters? :D Also, I would have loved to have more teasing from the Normandy crew about their relationships. Joker especially. :P

So...I found the original script (at least, what was leaked and billed at the original script) and while I haven't peeked at the ending yet, I really wish they would've used this one. I finished up my ME2 playthrough last night and after doing the Collector Base I found myself thinking that ME3 lacked the scale of ME2. Why? You'd think ME3 would feel bigger, feel more important. I don't know, ME3 just felt lacking to me in the story department. Part of me wants to say not enough drama between characters. Some of the things I'm reading, had they been in game, would have really amped it up for me.

I seriously JUST came over here to see if someone had linked this yet. Cautious optimism: does this mean we get better explanations?! Cause if I'm being honest, I don't mind that Shep dies- it's actually kind of fitting- I just want a better explanation than "my synthetics kill you organics to stop your synthetics from killing all organics"

Looks like they're waiting until PAX East to give us more. It's the first weekend in April. Almost tempted to just drive up to Boston and go for that panel on Friday. The Mass Effect and Dragon Age ones are like back to back.

Mrrr.
I definitely thought that Garrus' romance line in 3 was planned pretty damn well. All those conversations you do have with him and if you're romancing him, the different lines? Man. They're amazing. Shepard's the Captain of that ship, Garrus is her XO or First Mate or whatever means he's second in Command. That's fooooor sure. Alliance vessel or not.
I also loved the fact that you could pass the support back and forth. If Shepard needed a breather, he was there to take up the slack. If Garrus needed some reassurance, you could bolster him. It was everything a partnership should be.

So yea, there's not Shepard without Vakarian. Not in my books.

Well now that I played the game, anything garrus romance related that was changed in the script?

The way he goes around and chats with the crew (joker, vega, random crew man after the Rachni misson, etc) he really owns the place. I love it when I romance him cause thats totally the 'spectre couple' feeling I always wanted (without needing the spectre status. Garrus is just that charismatic, he doesnt need it anymore). And when I dotn romance him Im like 'Oh gawd... Brokarian showing off again' *fistbump*

MaleShep is canon and so the script contains MaleShep, so no. However, changes with the VS that would've have made me very satisfied.

Umm no, maleshep is default, there is no canon Shepard in mass effect, it's why all the comics and novels never mention Shepards gender, and there is Garrus romance stuff in the leaked script and it's pretty much the same as what we got in the final game, the only change I noticed was in the last conversation with him, they made it better than it was in the leak imo.

Relax. Canon in the sense that he is the default used for eveything. The one I was looking at didn't have mention of the Garrus romance.

Just a bit of turian randomness... Anyone else thinks Turian look so awsome when they see Victus junior jump down at the end of his rescue mission. Using your hands to jump looks so silly for a human but for them its very feline. Tis a cool animation.

Yep.
I liked this mission. Going a little bit into what being a Turian, especially a Turian soldier, means. Taking Garrus with you is essential, of course, but I'm sure everybody here takes him along at each mission anyway. :P

I took Garrus on EVERY single mission with me except one. But now i can't remember that mission at all there's a blank in my mind where its meant to be. I know it was an N7 one, but it wasn't the reactor, the labs, the communications one or the Noveria one.....

Didn't read the article but not impressed if all we get is "clarification". The endings as they currently are suck, whether or not we get told more information.

I know changing the endings and such is less easy, but c'mon >.>
