The only thing I wish with the Garrus romance is for Shep and him to get more enthusiaztic about reuniting. ME2 did it too, them meeting again after forever is always very... "Oh hey... sup?"*handshakes of doom*
Mmh. Have to disagree on that one. In ME2, Garrus is exhausted. He's been fighting for days without sleep. If anything, I'm surprised he didn't freak out when Shep showed up, wondered if his mind was tricking him or something like that. I think his reaction is as enthusiastic as it can be.
In ME3, Palaven is burning. His homeworld, where he grew up. I can't see him getting all cheerful, even when his beloved shows up. Besides, he's the professional kind of guy, they were surrounded by a whole bunch of military people. That handshake was the sweetest gesture I have ever seen, in a way. It screamed "I'm happy to see you. Really, really happy. But you know, now is not the time."
Hmmm enthusiasm is probably not the word I should have used. Emotion is better, Not that they cardboard cut out eachother but the emotion in the scenes is very, off. I think I would have to head canon a bit to see exhaustion in Garrus when they meet on Omega, I mean I know he is... so it would have been nice to see, but he mostly looked, cool, I guess. I mean the "posing" and whatnot, My shep is always like "Garrus!!" *wants hug*, and she wasn't the one thinking he was dead for the last two years. I suppose Garrus fainting is out but would have liked more then a "Shepard, you were being really slow so I shot you."
For ME3 I really get the distraction of burning homeworld on his part, I think Shep kinda drops the ball in that reunion. She looks surprised to see him, Liara expression in that scene though. Liara looked aglow with knowing Garrus was safe. maybe I just see something thats not there. If we could take Liaras expression in that scene and slap it on Shep, Also I didn't mean the handshake when they first meet. I mean the handshake where she welcomes him back abord the Normandy. The handhold/shake hybrid in the beginning, I don't know if you get that no matter what statis quo of relationship is, but if it's just for romanced Femshep... I like it.

Sorry, English is my second language. I sometimes struggle to find my words. I agree, emotion is a better word. I still think his reaction in ME2 was spot on and very in-character for him. I think Shep's reaction, at this point, was "OMG, one of my best friends! Finally good stuff happens!". Keep in mind that Garrus already knew it was her from afar. She was completely suprised to see him.
As for ME3, Shep's "You're alive..." is worth every kind of facial expression she could have gotten. I thought she was delighted to see him. Just, you know. Still have to keep it professional.
It's all... very subtle. Or maybe I'm just overthinking it.
And yes, the handshake IS only for romanced FemShep. How cool is that?

So what happens when a non-romanced Shep meets up with Garrus on Menae?
They skip straight to the dialogue "Good to see you, thought you'd be on Palaven" and "if we lose this moon we lose Palaven...", etc.

When was that?
Another squadmate's great banter? In ME3 I'd say Javik. His comments are so inappropriate most of the time.
Wrex was awesome in ME1, he wanted to eat everyone.

Thessia, when Shepard starts getting frusterated with not knowing what to do -- right after you find the scientists. Shepard says something like 'now we have to figure this out ourselves' and then Garrus turns and says that to Liara.

I'm on Noveria ATM with Wrex. God, I miss having him in my party though I did do a lot of yelling at both him and Primarch Victus in ME3 when they were throwing their hissy fits. And then Wrex had an adorable, Victus's son died, and I felt awful

Shep : 'Ok Im done with your flirting,Vega. The bed is right there. Wanna know how soft it is?'
Vega : 'Damn Lola, I dreamed of that. Never thought it could really happen..." *looks awkward and doesnt take a step forward*
Shep : 'So?'
Vega : 'You know what Garrus said he would do to me if tried to put a finger on you? Sorry Lola, youre my type of woman but id like to have kids of my own one day'
Shep : 'Good boy. Im still surprised he lets you use that nickname with me...'
Vega : 'Bah. He said with all the attention he gets from those scars, it was only fair game for you.'
Shep : *snickers*
Vega : 'What?'
Shep : 'Nothing, Lieutenant. But next time Garrus compares you to a Krogan female, I hope you'll answer back'.

Nothing romance specific, but I did this on my canon MaleShep run, who romanced Tali. (Despite everything Kaidan did to her, my FemShep still loved Kaidan, hell, I couldn't even bring Garrus to shoot him, and yes that IS an option.)
I will attempt it on a new run though, when and if I get around to it.
DanaDuchy has uploaded a video of what happens if you let Garrus shoot him and though, which was beautfiul. www.youtube.com/watch
Garrus more or less understands why Shepard did what he had to do, saying they'll be even more casualities in this war, etc.
I wonder if it's different if the VS was romanced.
Oooo... now I kinda want to let Garrus shoot Kaidan (sorry Kaidan fans) in my second playthrough since I could totally see this happening... I wonder if the dialogue with him after is different if G is your LI...

So. Precious. I love how tender and gentle he is with Shepard.
I just got Garrus's Dr. Saleon quest and I want to give him all the hugs.
EDIT: TOP. Some Team Dextro solidarity.
