Playing thru Mars with Ashley.... just got to the part where Shep and Ash look for a comm on the dead Cerberus guy. I think Ash takes it better than Kaidan. She isn't as blunt (very surprising to me) and her response seems much more adult. "I just need more time to get to know you again." I think that is totally fair and much more reasonable than Kaidan's responses.

Btw it's official, I cannot watch the farewell scene until the DLC comes out (IF it comes out). I cry like a baby. It's pathetic.

It feels so final after you know how it ends... and it feels so unfair. I cry and cry... I'm sorry, I know people have to die, hey... I cried all the way through Deathly Hallows, but she didn't take all magic away to stop Voldemort and she sure as hell didn't sacrifice Harry to take away said magic just when he and Ginny finally got their s**t together.

Oh god. I'm one of the Potter generation and I held it together until close to the end and then I was done. I still cry when I watch it. :crying:

Yeah but see, Deathly Hallows' tears were GOOD. You were heartbroken but it felt right, it fit. Just like Mordin's death in ME3.
(I didn't like the epilogue of HP though. Felt like an actual fanfiction.)
ME3's ending just rip your heart out and stomp on it for no good reason.
... or maybe I'm overreacting. It's possible.

No, no, that was actually my point, that's what I was saying (and I also totally agree with the crappy fanfic at the end) - it's possible to have an epic ending and not screw it up. She's the perfect example of that.

No, I think the epilogue read like bad fanfiction too. Albus Severus Potter? Seriously? Scorpious? <_< I'm biased though, as I'm NOT a fan of her final pairings.

Sorry, English is my second language. I get confused sometimes.
Honestly I wouldn't have minded if she had killed off Harry. It felt logical. I would have cried my eyes out but Harry somehow was a tragic character (while Shepard was NOT). I was surprised she let him live.
She should have stopped at the last scene at Hogwarts where Harry leaves to take a nap in the dormitory. It was a perfect conclusion.

Alrighty. Things you need;
1. Gibbed Mass Effect 3 Save Editor --> http://svn.gib.me/bu...ffect3/?C=M;O=D
You want "saveedit-r62_b77.zip" or whatever the latest version is, in this case b77.
2. The default texture preset ---> http://www.box.com/s...8226cc4d91cadfc
(note, if anyone is worried about viruses or malware this is from my Box account)

Next;
1. Download the Save Editor and put the zip in its own folder and unzip it there. Mine is just labeled "ME3 Save Editor". It doesn't have to be anything fancy.
2. Download present.
3. There should be, within the folder with the Save Editor called Presets. It will already have a file in it. At this time it is the Illusive Man's eyes. Put the preset you downloaded within this folder.
4. Open the Save Editor. (if it errors out or you don't see any options, you need to update your Microsoft .NET Framework, found here ---> http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=17851)
5. Back up your saves.
6. Use the "Open" feature at the top. Doesn't matter if you choose a save file or a career file. The save with the higest number is your most recent save.
7. Go to the "Player" tab. Go to the "Apperance" tab.
8. Click on "Presets". Choose "Open from File". (it should go to the Presets folder, if not navigate there)
9. Select the "Sheploo Face Texture..." file. Selecting it is enough and will change it even though it looks as though nothing has changed in the program.
10. Use the "Save" feature at the top. MAKE SURE YOU USE THE "NEW SAVE"  OPTION. Otherwise it won't work.
11. Load up the new save (again, should be the highest number) and enjoy.

So, that should do it. If you need more help let me know. Also, got the skin texture file from MonaBabii on MassEffect2Faces.com (http://www.masseffec...php?faceID=2506)

*edit* Haven't tried this for a BroShep but given that the file is called Sheploo...I'm willing to bet it works for custom male Shepards as well.

So... I feel like a huge jerk... I restarted the whole series again with the sole intention of killing off Kaidan so I don't have to put up with him in 3. I always romanced him in 1, so I always killed off Ash... now I'm thinking... yeaaaah.... I'll wait for the Turian goodness after I get spaced.

Btw, the only reason I didn't do this before was because I was hoping for some jealousy party banter like between Fenris and Anders, alas, I was disappointed.

I just finished the romance yet again in ME2. The scene is even sweeter when you have the ME3 romance in mind. He's not nervous because of the date, he's nervous because it's her.

Oh Garrus. <3

Heh. Sometimes (Harry Potter, Mass Effect 3 ending, a certain Turian) I get the impression that quite a lot of people in this thread are reading my mind... Or are just equally crazy ;)
Though my first Shepard already chose Ash over Kaidan on Virmire, since she (um, or rather me) was a little bit annoyed with the lack of "neutral" dialogue options with the biotic. Perhaps I remember it wrong, but wasn't it basically a choice between "I like / love you", "You are pathetic", or ignoring the guy completely?

By the way, the posted Shepards are beautiful. Thanks for sharing the guide / hints on how to change Shepard's facial texture.

Sorry for putting a more technical question here, but it is at least somehow Garrus-related: I was trying to save before each major (okay, and minor) dialogue with the Turian. Just needed something to compensate the hollow feeling* at the end. In London, on the way up to Anderson, the game did not allow me to create a save. Normally I blame my low-end computer on anything weird... but I wanted to know if anybody experienced similar problems, since I don't think that the whole zone is a "no saves allowed" kind of area.

God the ninjamance in ME1 was AWFUL.

Yeah I did. I reloaded the auto-save, and it allowed me to save. Go figure.

Once I hit London there were no save options for me, either.
And we're all posting in a forum about an alien we LOVE... of course we're all as crazy as you are.

Edit to add: I'm so glad I came out of my lurky corner.

Hey, if Shepard and Garrus were ever to get married (endings never happened) how do you guys think they'd handle their last names?

 I think she'd take his name... even if it were just Shepard-Vakarian because of how she said there'd be no Shepard without Vakarian. :wub:

Ha, I got that one worked out already. Shepard's becoming Vakarian. That way people will FINALLY start calling her by her first name. :P

I feel like they'd keep their last names, but that may just be because I'm inserting myself into the character and I'd keep my last name. Blah blah patriarchy blah haha

Yeah my Shepard was like 'wut?' when Dr Chakwas was saying it would be disrespecting the universe or somethng like that. I imagine off screen Garrus, Tali, Liara, and maybe Anderson use her first name.

There is a technical workaround this if you're on the PC. Although manual saving isn't allowed through the London sequence (quicksaving works sometimes), the game autosaves for you quite often. All of your saves are saved to: C:\\Users\\(Your name)\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3\\Save\\

I wanted to be able to revist the farewell conversation with Garrus on Earth. The game autosaves when you're free to walk around and say your goodbyes to everyone. So I took that AutoSave file, copied and renamed it to Save_000#, and voila, I can reload it anytime I want. Alternatively, I was able to quicksave in front of him too and did the same process as mentioned.

I solved my no-save-in-London-problem by re-naming my autosave (Save00xx.pcsav, or similar). But simply reloading it would have enabled regular saving again? Strange. But good to know, thank you.

Last names, marriage? A good question. 'Good' as in 'not depressing' ;)
I think my main Shepard would just choose 'Shepard-Vakarian'. As would Garrus. There is no Shepard without Vakarian... Not sure about family size, though, just that adoption really is the better option. At least for my Shepard.

Edit: Thanks, Krys-D, that was precisely what I did. I was mainly curious if the problem was related to my system (relatively low-end), or if it is 'normal'.
