So... I feel like a huge jerk... I restarted the whole series again with the sole intention of killing off Kaidan so I don't have to put up with him in 3. I always romanced him in 1, so I always killed of Ash... now I'm thinking... yeaaaah.... I'll wait for the Turian goodness after I get spaced.

Heh, I did the same thing.

Im the odd one out again it seems. Even with the lack of catfight, I'm quite happy I kept Kaidan around (until I send him to the fleet after the citadel coup).

First it gives some sense to Garrus telling my FemShep she needed some time ot figure things out (she really didnt but its understandable that Garrus might have thought so since she felt the need to be nice to Kaidan).

Second, I got to send him back to the fleet and got a nice little letter for it that made it feel like he knew Shepard was disapoint in him. Perfect, because thats exactly how I felt when after put a bullet in Udina whn he drawn his gun on the asari councilor Kaidan asked me if I really acted with integrity. Im all fine if he asks himself that question when he gets to kill Udina (like on my faithful Kaidan Shep). After all, he isnt used to making hard calls like that. But questionning my Shep once again, and then promissing he's gonna have her back from now on. That maed me irked. Sending his ass back to the fleet was the perfect renegade interrupt.

What can I say, some people are fit to be on the Normandy, and some arent (it all depends on the Shep Im playing of course). But it was more satisfying to make him understand that then just killing him during the coup. It kinda felt like a worthy ending to his character arc with Shep. He tried and obviously wasnt good enough. The end.

When I think about it, they really make it hard to enjoy Kaidan as a friend if you didnt romance him or if you moved on. On the other hand, Garrus is my Kaidan faithful shep's best friend. Totally diffrent character arcs those two.

Hey, if Shepard and Garrus were ever to get married (endings never happened) how do you guys think they'd handle their last names?

Oh yeah endings never happened, they definitely get married:) (That's my story and I'm sticking to it) My Spacer will hyphenate "Shepard-Vakarian". Her family name is important to her.  My Earthborn and Colonist however would have no qualms about becoming Vakarians though since Garrus is their family now. Oh, and Anderson is giving away the bride since the endings never happened.

I solved my no-save-in-London-problem by re-naming my autosave (Save00xx.pcsav, or similar). But simply reloading it would have enabled regular saving again? Strange. But good to know, thank you.

Last names, marriage? A good question. 'Good' as in 'not depressing' ;)
I think my main Shepard would just choose 'Shepard-Vakarian'. As would Garrus. There is no Shepard without Vakarian... Not sure about family size, though, just that adoption really is the better option. At least for my Shepard.

Edit: Thanks, Krys-D, that was precisely what I did. I was mainly curious if the problem was related to my system (relatively low-end), or if it is 'normal'.

Im not very good at answering those fluffy wedding questions (bad fangirl, I know) but your Shepard-Vakarian made me think of Legion... I guess thats how he would have adressed Shep's and Garrus' adoptive little Krogan. Legion would have made a good uncle for sure.

Good question. I'm curious. I dunno, but I'd imagine he'd go through a human wedding for her. And I'm sure Shep would do whatever is necessary to establish their bond in Turian culture, if possible.

Depends on the definition of marriage. They have mates at least, but the definition of that is open for discussion as well.

So who knows!

Yeah that's how I saw it too. They call their partners "mates" if I recall.

The closest thing we've got to a proposal is the wonderful sentence "Are you ready to be a one-turian kind of woman?"
... which sounds pretty possessive, or is it just me?

I loooooooved that line!

And yeah, that one turian on Omega said something along the lines of "I have a mate and a ship and I only brought one with me." (I think he's the one that shoots the batarian bartender that poisons Shep.)

No, it did sound just a smidge possessive. I really wish there had been some snarking with Kaidan if Shep had romanced both. But alas...

As for marriage, I guess they mate. Turians seem rather one person for life but not sure. Sparatus has a mistress but I don't know if he's married/mated.

Thats the kind of possessivness id take any day to be honest...

While I dont see the need for my Shep and Garrus to get a wedding, she would say yes if Garrus asks for it of course. But she still would be quite curious about how Turians handle their equivalent of it.

It sounded like he was asking her to "go steady" LOL which I thought was adorable. Prior to that point, they weren't technically in any kind of defined couple relationship at all. It felt like the whole "are you ready to define this thing we have" conversation. That's what I took from it anyway, especially with the "you needed time to figure us out" bit. So, there was no "us". By the goodbye scene, he's comfortable in the boyfriend role. I guess that was the product of his "research" into human relationships LOL. Do Turians date or do they just choose a mate?

For me the closest thing to a proposal was the bit about Turian-Human/Krogan babies and storming heaven together. That and the 'come back alive, the galaxy is empty for me without you'. I saw it as Garrus saying no matter what happens I want to be with you, for the rest of this life and the next.

I got to the part on Mars when Shepard is calling for someone to intercept the FemBot and they say something like; "James! Normandy! Somebody!"  And yeah....ShepLoo was completely monotone, not a trace of the anger or frusteration femShep has. I just can't do it. :pinched:

I never said I didn't like it :P

Marriage is not absolutely necessary in my headcanon either. Kids are, though.

Warrior death (together) or kids would both leave me very satisfied. A krogan boy (Bowser) and a turian girl (not sure her name yet).

My Shep couldnt adopt a human child... she would feel she would have to save them all :crying: I dont know how to explain. My Shep jsut cant choose her own child from an orphanage, its too hard a decision.

The Krogan boy would be one Eve saved when Shepard was visiting her and convinced Shep and Garrus to take care of the kid and that she would be a good mother (My FemShep loves Eves as much as Wrex, alot). And the Turian girl she would accept to take care of after talking of Solana (not sure about the how the whole thing would go yet).

Regarding the whole marriage thing, my Shep would double barrel it - Shepard-Vakarian, as she is proud of her name, and also it is what I am going to do when I get married.

Speaking of which, for my wedding cake topper, for the figures, my friend is modelling me in the N7 armour, and my husband-to-be in Garrus's ME2 costume. Roll on February!

My Shepard would gladly be a Vakarian for both the added association with Garrus and to be finally called something other than Shepard, or be known by the name.

The way she says "Primarch Vakarian" shows how proud of her man she is. She'd definitely want his name.

I thought that was really sweet too.  Though considering how famous Shep would be if she survives the ending, I'm pretty sure everyone would still call her Shepard regardless of her legal name.  I think Kaliya keeps her name and hyphenates for her children.

Poor things.  Kira Shepard-Vakarian and Cyrus Shepard-Vakarian.  Quite a mouthful.  At least they don't have to worry about getting teased with Shep & Garrus for parents.

Ohh my feels. ;-; I love this romance too much.

The first thing my Shep is going to do after the ending (which didn't happen), is study Turian culture/customs. Her name will probably be Shepard-Vakarian.

Esperanza Shepard would NOT change her name. However, she'd probably interject a few comments into any post-Reaper-defeat interviews to make it damn clear who her man is.

I always saw a Bolvian army ending for her and Garrus. It's really hard to envision that Shepard settling or even slowing down. Maybe if she got seriously banged up or Garrus barricaded her in her cabin until she took a break.

"DAMNIT VAKARIAN THERE ARE THINGS TO CHARGE OUT THERE. LET ME OUT."
"Shepard.... Sitting down isn't actually your enemy."

Ha, that sounds just like my Shepard. (*Shepard charges sofa*)

I would love to know if Turians get married, or a version thereof. In predictable self-insertion stylee, my Shep would keep her own surname, I think.
