Well, to be fair the younger Victus, he IS younger. But all things are better with age, I assume Turians are the same.

I hope he had a brother... if not, I hope the Primarch is now single.

...I'm a horrible person.

 That's ok.
Honestly I hope his wife/mate/whatever is ok. If not he basically lost his entire family.

If Bioware does any games set in the Mass Effect Universe, more Turianmances are a MUST.

This question must have been asked a least a million times, but do you have a favorite Garrus line?

Maybe they'd actually tell us more about their freaking race and give us female turians... *glares at BW*

If I had to pick one...

"Come back alive, it'd be an awfully empty galaxy without you."

But I love em all!

I'm glad you all asked, this fine person is actually John Dombrow. Not only did he write Garrus for ME3 and the Genophage arc, he also wrote the DLC Overlord, which has to be my FAVOURITE DLC of all time for simply being so emotionally compelling.

https://twitter.com/...108449420554241

If anyone had to take Garrus away from Weekes, I'm glad it was Dombrow.

Wow! He's a fabulous writer , the genophage arc was my favourite series of missions!

Genophage is also my favorite arc. Its also a great work of choices since it can go in may directions depending if you have wrex/wreav, mordin alive or dead, saved Maleons cure or not, side with the dalatress or not, etc. Theres way more space for nterpretation and choices then the geth/quaruians arc where the game makes it almost stupid to do anything else then bring them peace (unless you sold legion in ME2).

Anyone else kinda wondering what Garrus romance would have been like if Weekes would have stayed on him?

Apparently ME1 was supposed to have Turians in it.

You know those random conversations you can hear? One of them between an Asari and a Turian was ACTUALLY supposed to be between a male and female turian.

And we have the ... THREE major female turians from the books and the Evolution comic.

No design concept my ass, Bioware. <_<

Now let me meet Solona Vakarian!

:crying:

In ME3, it would probably be "are you ready to be a one turian kind of woman?"  He just says it in this really hot way, especially the "to be" bit.

I must write to this John Dombrow and thank him for all the Garrus dialogue and romance scenes.  What a good job!

It wouldn't be bad, keep in mind, that Weekes was the reason we all fell in love with Garrus. But somehow, I feel it'd be lacking. Maybe I'm just basing this off the ME2-mance, and even then, the ME2 mance can easily be chalked up to Bioware throwing their fans a bone, thinking no one would go for it.

But Dombrow is just... something else, I could tell the difference in writing with him (No offence other BW writers :<). Just off Overlord and Genophage and Garrus in ME3, it's like he's in a bit of a league of his own with his writing style, ability and dedication to the ME fans.

Emotionally compelling without it being rainbows and butterflies.

Also...

I'm sorry, I have to go with 'I'm Garrus Vakarian and THIS IS MY FAVOURITE SPOT ON THE CITADEL'.

I'm a sucker for the classics.

I dont think it would have been bad either. but I remember how some people were a bit set back by Garrus awkwardness in ME2 because it wasnt clear (to them) if Garrus was in love with Shep. Now in mE3, you still keep the adorkable and the badass but the romance is pretty clear.

You also see as a writer, Dombrow really did his best to give closure ot the player while fallowing the 'Shep has to die in fire' line set by the lead developers.

I think its safe to assume that after  his 'Never' dialogue, he might not have been the one who decided the London team would be abducted by the Normandy and endup on a deserted island...

I have to agree on that. The Genophage line and Garrus' romance are really something else - so I would have liked to see Dombrow's idea of a fitting ending to the triology...

Since that is probably not going to happen (though I still hope for an alternative 'official' ending by BioWare): What is BioWare's position on modding, or rather replacing of game content? I have seen a replacement for the "Liara flashback" on this forum, and I have to admit that it would be nice to make sure that Shepard sees the Turian she loves during what's probably her last moments (Indoctrination theory and Breath-Sequence aside).

Edit: Would choose "Come back alive, it'd be an awfully empty galaxy without you", though it's hard to decide.

So... I'm going to come out and say... I'm a full romancer, I usually try out all of the romances in a BW game and in 2, I was dreading the Garrus romance and then it was... omgosh, I found myself actually covering my eyes in awkward embarassment for most of the scenes. And giggling... hysterically. I couldn't handle it and Thane was much more my speed. And I loved every moment I had with Thane... (let's not talk about that ****hat, Kaidan)

But... interestingly enough, my first playthrough on ME3, I chose my Garrusmancer to play and I fully and totally fell head over heels with Garrus in this game. I felt like in ME2, it was that awkward "friends with benefits" hook up, until he said he just wanted for something to go right and then I knew, it might be more than that.

So... I'm proud to say it's Shepard-Vakarian in my headcanon now and nothing will ever change that again.

I'd love to hear how everyone else came around to the turian side of the room.

I think our best chance is going to be at PAX in April. I keep my fingers crossed. Until then playing ME3 is out of question.

I think my favorite line is from ME2: "Right. 'Cause I'm in a great place to optimize firing algorithms right now."

Cracks me up every time.

Sam here all the way. I always thought Garrus would be bro-for-life. I tried his romance after several romances with Thane who I absotely loved. Garrus' romance was very different, made me facepalm at one moment but not because the moment was stupid but because it was just so adorkable. Sweet and cute~

Before ME3 had been released, I had heard how Thane romance wasn't gonna be very good. I went with the Garrus romance and now I honestly can't romance anyone else, not even if they fix the other romances.
Made me love Garrus more than ever. <3

Garrus has so many good lines that it's hard to choose a favourite! I think the conversation about 'good' places to fight through is definitely up there...

I was actually only ever interested in romancing Garrus. In ME1 my Shep used to hang around the cargo bay trying to get him to talk to her! Never romanced anyone then, I pretty much avoided Kaidan like the plague, and I thought Liara was annoying - the fainting routine got old pretty quick. I was pretty happy Garrus was romanceable in 2 and he's such a fantastic character that I wasn't disappointed with their interactions. It gave me high hopes for 3, but what we actually got blew all of my expectations out of the water. I guess my Shep knew she was onto a winner from that first time they met on the Citadel... <3

So anyone here played with Garrus dead in ME2? Was thinking of importing one save, too see if there are some extra dialog from it, but if there isn't, I think I might reload the Collector mission.

Garrus dead? I don't know what you are talking about, Garrus can't die.

How did we become headbumpers? (Do we even have an "official" name like the Talimancers?) Good question.
Personally I liked him in ME1, nothing more. Took him in my squad often because he was effective in combat and he looked and sounded cool. I was romancing Kaidan at the time, and got pissed he wasn't in ME2 (plus the whole Horizon fiasco). I wanted my Paramour achievement. Honestly when I found out that Garrus was romanceable my first reaction was "... really? Wow." (I started playing in 2011, for the record) and given the other options (Jacob... no comment, and Thane is nice but I'm particularly attracted to him), I gave it a shot.

He stole my heart more quickly than Alistair himself. Needless to say the romance in ME3 made me incredibly happy. Until the ending, that is.

Edit: I think people have stated that there are a few mentions of Garrus when he's dead, like on Menae, obviously, where Shepard is asked "If Garrus was here, how do you think he'd be right now?" and Shep answers something like "Pissed as hell". Liara also mentions him later and tells Shep that he'd be proud to see how far he/she' gone.

I'm in exactly the same boat.  I never really gave Kaidan a chance due to his VA; I know that wasn't fair, but god did I ever LOATHE Carth in KOTOR.  I eventually came to like Kaidan but still wouldn't romance him.  I thought Garrus was fascinating in ME1 and as soon as I'd finished the game, I hopped on the forums to beg for him as an LI in ME2.

Favorite Garrus line has to be "I want something to go right.  Just once."  HE NEEDS ALL THE HUGS.

Garrus was the perfect bro for my canon FemSep during ME1. Took him mostly everywhere with Wrex I did romance Kaidan however (he was sweet back then and supportive). After Horizon tho I could only see Garrus. During the time before ME3 I went back and made some other Sheps to tryout the whole possibilites of the game (I have 12 of them at diffrent stages of ME2 and ME3 completion).

I found Thane's romance a bit too 'starstruck' for my taste but I made a Shep just for him and the whole thing fits pretty well. Like my faithful renegon for Kaidan. Good balance and all.

For me, there was a lot less speculative interest in the Thane romance in ME2 then with Garrus. What I mean is its pretty clear he's interested to get the relation going and he's 'in love'. other then the speculation about the cure, not much to wonder about there. n the onther hand I had lots of fun speculating on Garrus and the more I did, the more i became attached to the character. Can they get through the species barrier? Is it just blowing off steam? Can a friendship turn into a love story?

I was expecting Thane's romance to jsut go its merry way into awsomeness and spirituality but i was way much interested to see how things would go for Shep and Garrus.

And look how things turned out...

Wait a minute, I thought it was Mac Walters who wrote Garrus in ME 1 and 2 not Weekes, he had to hand him off to Dombrow when he became lead writer.
