French Garrus and Shepard kinda cracks me up because I took French all through high school and could never match the speed at which Francophones speak. They still sound really fast to me.
^this. I started French in Kindergarten and continued it up through high school and they still sound crazy fast to me as well. (All that time and still not "fluent". Something is clearly wrong with me.) Still love listening to it though. I guess non-native English speakers get the same impression about native English speakers too LOL. French and Japanese are my 2 fave languages. I know - apples and oranges.
I was never fluent either and my pronuciation is TERRIBLE. I actually had a guy in France laugh at me and then speak flawless English to me.I can read my way through a lot of French but other than that...
Haha I had that same experience. My prob is that all I can do is pronounce it. I can read French aloud and sound like a native, my teachers all said. I think I overthink it too much. I think I needed immersion like a study abroad or something. Never got my brain to successfully think in French. Ah well, I'm kind of an old dog to be learning new tricks now anyway LOL.

Yeah, ditto. If it didn't stick in high school it isn't going to stick now.
....favorite French word? Pamplemousse.

Hi! Don't mean to interrupt, but I'm finally able to post stuff in the ME3 section. I've been over in the ME2 Garrus section for awhile now, and this is a relief. Hopefully I'll be able to catch-up in this section soon...
I just did the citadel date part last night, it was great!
Hi! You aren't interupting. If you haven't completed ME3 yet you might want to steer clear until you do as this is spoiler heavy. :innocent:

No, just no. I mean, Vega is cool and all but an anime about Mass Effect? I'd rather see a full CGI.

Flabbergasted is a fun word to say. It is also amusing to hear people from different parts of the US say it. New Yorkers, Bostonians, people with thick southern accents...

Pamplemousse is French for grapefruit and flabbergasted is to be very suprised, to be so surpised you are rendered speechless. Surprised/shocked on steroids.

A pamplemousse is a fruit. It's called a grapefruit in English, apparently.
Flabbergasted is like surprised, amazed.
Edit:
On an unrelated note, I've just come accross one of the countless threads about the endings in the spoilers forum, but this one actually managed to renew my hope a little bit : http://social.biowar.../index/10653916

Oh that certainly is hope giving.
And also, my brother just took my Mass Effect games. Just when I was looking forward for making a few more Sheps doing Garrus!
I mean the romance. With him.
EDIT: I'll just go to bed already and get some sleep.

Yeah I don't know why its called a grapefruit. It neither looks or tastes like a grape. More like a giant pink orange.
As for your link, I still find myself wondering how BW didn't see all this coming, the fallout I mean. I understand why the game got such high scores from lots of "official" places like magazines, IGN, etc because it was and is a great, great game (with minor faults). IGN gave it a 9.5/10 and said it is "admittedly imperfect" and while they don't talk about the ending I'm willing to bet that was part of their beef. The thing that kills me is the only response BW has given was whiny and said 'but look we got all these near perfect scores'.

To be honest, I found the beginning of the Garrus romance really bad.
WAIT, I SAID THE BEGINNING. Don't kill me.
I think it's hilarious how fem shep just has these super horrible/hilarious lines with Garrusmance, like the:
"We can test your reach... and my flexibility (giggity giggity goo)"
I still just... facepalm at that line. Although the first time it happend I was too over the moon that I could flirt with him to mind much.
I think Shep just likes making him flustered because normally Garrus is so unflappable
Even though I love the Garrus romance so much, that line had me facepalm too. Though I do like how you can for the pretty much first time, catch him off guard like that.
*catching up*
Have to say that while this one is a bit awkward, nothing compared to Thane's one.
Talking about how his wife died and then Shepard says that she likes you.
Doesnt quite work.

Pff, IGN's test was written by Colin Moriarty, the same guy who keeps calling the fans entitled whiners. I didn't even bother to read the test.
I think they rushed the ending. I think they didn't have enough time - they delayed the game but they probably needed more time - and threw whatever they could, hoping for the best, except they got the worst.
Now the smart move from them would be to aknowledge us and answer our pleas. They always have, and no amount of so-called "artistic integrity" or "clarification" will convince us that those endings were good.

It's hard for me to be optimistic about the endings... the normandy scene just HAS TO GO.
And im not convinced bioware would do that

Anyway, I had a run-in with an acquaintance of mine, a gamer sort, and talked about - surprisingly enough - about the ending. He supported the artistic integrity (gives me the creeps, btw), stating that "it was befitting the hero concept" and "no other solution was even possible". Needless to say that I completely disagree with these thoughts. I for one did not roleplay my Shep to become a martyr at the last minute and sacrifice all she's got with Garrus. Or perhaps it's the Garrusmancer in me that always looks on the bright side. Right?
So, any news regarding the possibility of actually adopting those krogan babies?
Edit. And wow, it seems I got the banners working properly :innocent:

Hero concept my ass! My Shepards deserves a damn good vacation with Garrus after all that!
After three games we deserve better than just endings that kill of our main character we've been with for five years!
Btw, I must have been crying so much since I can't remember the krogan babies conversation at all.

"Artistic intregrity" my ASS.
Sorry, but how can you seriously make such claims when you got gratuitous ass-shots of Miranda during ME2 and 3, an over-sexualized Ashley for ME3 despite the fact she said she hated skirts in ME1, a photoshopped Tali from an image found on Google, a screen prompting you to buy DLC RIGHT AFTER THE CREDITS?
And no other outcome possible? This is a space opera, not a tragedy. Shepard is by no means a tragic character. She had no tragic flaw that doomed her from the start. Mordin was, for example a tragic character, as well as Thane.
My Shep's a survivor. She fought against all odds, gave the middle finger or a taste of her shotgun to anyone who stood in her path. The endings are insulting her character as well as they insult countless other Shepards.
The endings are BAD. The fact that they are grimdark DO NOT make them good by default. Forcing drama is lazy writing. Period.
Sorry about the ranting but if I read another post in favour of "artistic intregrity" I will kill a puppy.
