Apparently we all decided to roleplay our Sheps either high or drunk to begin the Garrus romance xD
Ugh, I CANNOT watch the goodbye scene, it breaks my heart. I was totally planning the stupid happy ending in which Shepards OWNS the Reapers like a boss at the cost of billions of lives. The fact that that option didn't exist completely took me by surprise.
Why would you hit on your best friend (who happens to be an odd-looking, big alien with an exoskeleton) that awkwardly sober? It has to be the drugs, I tell you! The drugs!

SOLONA VAKARIAN, BIOWARE. MAKE IT HAPPEN.
...Also, I'm apparently the only who thinks my Shepard is just that awkward when proposing sex with men. ._.

A gift from the General Discussion Board. I ADORE these designs. See, Bioware? Now you have no excuse.

Current theory is holding strong that turians without tattoos are my prime female suspects.
So Saren was actually female...

That was my reasoning too.
Plus Lexane simply sucks when it comes to hitting on a guy.

Noted and hoped for.
Saren may not count because of the face being a massive mess of synthetic bits. Buuuuut if true, I would be happy.

Mine is an Earthborn Sole Survivor, so even though Paragon, isn't that great in some situations, but ok in others, as she had to blag her way through life.

So I'm not gay for Saren then, it's a standard straight fanboy crush instead. Good to know.Immortal fish wrote...

God damn. Turians are over 6'? Why the f*** is everything so much taller than me. Grrrr.
Edit: Where'd you get the 6' figure?
Super late response. Thought it was under biology section of the turian page (of ME Wiki). I've imagined my FemShep to be ridiculously tall. My "type" would be just that; tall and fit. Think that taste developed because I played volleyball for awhile and watching tall girls in spandex 80% of the time does things to you.
So if turians are 6' and up and FemShep hits right under his nose and etc., my guess is that she's at least 5'8". But in my head my FemShep is 5'10" and Garrus maybe 6'4".

Solana's such a pretty name. I wonder if she'd like Shep. Given her conversation with Garrus I think she'd have some resent towars the Commander that made her brother walk into hell twice, but after the Reaper war she'd probably respect her a great deal... shame we know next to nothing about her.
I think she would initially dislike Shep but after a while, she'd accept her.
I want a "Meet the Vakarians" DLC!

She is obviously awesome and hot as she is a Vakarian. I mean even Garrus dad turned out to be a hero in the end.Karrie788 wrote...

So I decided to stop being frustrated and do something about it.
I have no experience with Mass Effect's engine, and probably would not touch it if I knew how, either. But after looking at the movie files and the current end again: Changing two of the bik-files has the potential to reduce some heartaches.
For those who have both reached an equally high level of frustration and find themselves with a couple of hours free time that they have no idea on how to spend, here are a number of issues and the possible "reward"...
1. Legal concerns: From what I know, BioWare's position on modding in ME1/ME2 was basically "do what you wish with your own computer, but don't come crying if your system or the game stops working". I have found a thread with a similar question regarding ME3, but without an answer. Since I am not manipulating the "real" game or touching the multiplayer part in any form, just switching two bik-files (that is, simple movies) against two others, I don't think that it is illegal. Furthermore, there are already other movie replacers out there (concerning flashback sequences), and I have not read that those are illegal. If anybody has information that says otherwise I'd be happy if you let me know.
2. Crashes to Desktop: While testing, I got some, yes. With my final working sequence, everything is working fine on repeated tests. Naturally, any movie data to be replaced should be saved somewhere else, so that the original files can be restored.
3. Game mechanics: As I said, I restrict myself to manipulating the movie sequences. Taking my pure-paragon main Shepard who chooses to destroy the Reapers as example: There's no way I can avoid the talk with the Catalyst. But I can change my autosave afterwards to a regular save for debugging purposes afterwards and look what happens next.
Basically, there are (destroy Reapers, high EMS) three movies that are played, followed by the jungle scene with the crashed Normandy (no movie, so no way to avoid it), followed by the credits, followed by the far-future-buy-our-DLC-sequence. Also important: The original movies contain no audio, so if one does not want to turn of the music (or, in case of the future sequence, both music and voices), the "new" movie as to be adapted accordingly. Switching the movies also means restrictions in terms of length of the new data: End03_LondonRedOutro and End004 have 1996 and 2251 frames, at 30 fps. So any replacer should be a bit longer than 66.5 and 75 seconds.
4. Creation of a replacement movie: I am no artist or anything like that, but I have played Baldur's Gate II and enjoyed its "screenshot-happily-ever-after-endings". And taking some fitting screenshots of ME3, putting some text as explanation into them, creating an avi-file from them and converting the .avi into a .bik - that is perfectly doable without technical expertise and using only freeware found on "respectable" sites like the German "chip.de" or similar.
5. Content of the replacement movies with respect to the technical restrictions above: My solution, at the moment, is the following: I accept "End03_R_SphereExp" and "End03_LondonRedGood" as 'true'. End03_LondonRedOutro is replaced by six screenshots, taken from the very same movie file, conveniently *not* showing the destruction of the citadel (just shortly before) and *not* showing the destruction of the Charon relay (just the "active" red-glowing relay). Text boxes in ME3 mission screen style state that the Crucible's energy destroys the Reapers and leave the relays mostly functional. Shepard lives, though severely injured. Joker uses the Normandy to pick him / her and the squad up. Medical treatment is necessary, but Earth is in a bad shape. Sur'Kesh, on the other hand, offers cutting-edge technology, was not (if at all) occupied by Reaper forces very long and, main point, is a very convenient jungle planet. As stated before, the relays are mostly functional - but there are problems. The Normandy (with Shepard on board) is damaged. Crash landing - on Sur'Kesh. Music in the background fits reasonably well for this line of replacement, no need to turn it of. First replaced clip finished, jungle scene with crashed Normandy follows. Then credits.
Then the second replacement (I did not like the two star-gazers anyway): Best to turn the voices off before, for I see no way to combine their talk with anything I'd like to see at the end, but the music is decent. I chose some screenshots from the Salarian base ingame, stating that Shepard and crew were taken to a medical centre and made a full recovery. The rest is basically "Reapers are gone, galaxy has a future again, the thread has brought together likely and unlikely allies etc etc etc", "hard choices had to be made, but the survivors will remember those who are gone" (Squadmember screenshots) and some final screenshots regarding the chosen romance partner (or, in my case, "There is no Shepard without Vakarian, even the Reapers could not separate them - no matter if retirement to somewhere warm and tropical, adoption, political ambitions or adventures in space, both of them will never be alone").
6. Your reward for hours of tests and debugging? A low-quality animated-screenshot ending. I was able to create a movie without jitter / noise that made my game crash and a movie with jitter / noise that worked fine. Needless to say that I chose the later.
But: If you want to adopt a varren, a baby thresher maw and five batarian orphans, your screens will tell you exactly that. In game. Without the need to switch off the computer and start imagining. Want to include fan-art made by yourself? No problem. I chose the "only screenshots" approach to save the "look and feel" of the game, but that was a personal decision. Most importantly: If you want a happy end, your personal ME3 ending will show you exactly what you want to see. With the slight drawback that you probably wanted to see it in better quality, fully animated, with additional voices and made by BioWare, not just some home-cooked, improvised pseudo-movie made by yourself.
And that's about it. If anybody has really read through all of this: Dextro-levo-cookies for you. But if anybody out there is crazy enough to try it: It is possible. And at least for me, it allowed me to play through the end of ME3 again.
That said, hold the line for a better official ending by BioWare: It stops people like me from spending their free time with strange activities and prevents boring posts like this one.
