I've always hated the whole subplot with the kid. That first scene where he gets killed on the shuttle made my eyes roll. The fact that he kept bothering my Shep's nightmares irritated me even more.

When the Catalyst showed up... well... >_<

From his first appearance, I was just waiting for someone to point out that the kid wasn't real and hoping they'd get to it soon instead of dragging the point out. I thought the nightmares were proof that something odd was happening, not that Shepard couldn't handle knowing a kid died. When the Catalyst showed up, I was sort of disappointed that Shepard didn't demand to know what was going on and finally clarify that.

Really, I'm mostly annoyed that she was so stuck on that one kid. Hearing Legion and other dead squad members in the dream was a lot harder and more affecting than seeing the kid burn.

Before the IT came up I never noticed that nobody but Shepard noticed the kid. But it's true, it's very odd.
Dead squadmates whispering in the background was actually the only thing I liked about the nightmares. One whisper keeps coming back that I don't understand: "I have humps and scars. I hope they give me character." Something like that. Does anybody know who says that?

That is a Kaidan quote. Its something like "I have bumps and scars, I hope they give me character."

Would've been far more effective in that final dream to show your living crew, squad and/or LI burning instead.

Ditto.

I thought it was him. Thanks. Does he say that in ME1?

No offence to liara (like her, don't get me wrong) but I would have thought of urz before getting to her

I loved that adorable Varren *cries*

LOL same here. (Where is Urz anyway??) But I am... pretty biased towards her. Ever since she ninjamanced me and gave Shep's body to Cerberus I have a hard time liking her.

She's pretty awesome in ME3 though.

Uuurrrz! I'd rather have gotten Urz than that robot dog I got with the CE that DOES NOTHING. And it technically belongs to someone else, AND they named it for me? What's the point then?

Now.. Urz AND the robot dog might've had some funny 'banter', so to speak.

Maybe Shepard got the robot dog because Garrus is allergic to varren.

I want urz DLC right after they fix the ending *nods* James would like playing with him in the cargo hold and it would be funny having the crew interact with him like Dog in origins. "Sophie" might as well not be there, at least I could pet and feed urz and he followed me around.

Urz is totally on the Normandy in my headcanon... :D When and IF I ever finally get myself to write the fanfic I've been planning, he will have plenty of his own adventures. Oh yes, yes he will!

As for the nightmares and the child... don't even get me started -__- I hated that kid more than anything. The first time I played the demo I cheered when he died - don't get me wrong, it's not that I have a thing against children (quite the opposite in fact) but the starchild was SUCH an obvious plot device meant to evoke emotion that, in all honesty, ended up being devoid of any feeling at all. He was such a hollow character and having him shoved down my throat only made me hate him that much more. The worst thing in literature is rendering your audience apathetic -- if the child had made me hate him, at least that's evoking some kind of emotional depth. Instead, I hate the IDEA of him because, at the end of the day, I just didn't care. Not one bit.

The whispers from my dead teammates really did me in though (cough LEGION cough).... :'(

In other news, I really want to see a turian baby and a krogan baby playing together (maybe with a varren puppy), I think my ovaries might just explode from the cuteness.

I love that the turian councilor was the first one on Shepard's side this time. I actually think it makes sense, he would understand much better than the other two what needs to be done in wartime.

Ah the headcanon, the only one that makes sense anymore. ::sighs::

Speaking of headcanon, anyone else totally want to believe Sidonis (if spared) was the one who got Garrus' family off of Palaven? He promised he'd make it up to him. >_>

Urz on the Normandy!!! That would have been brilliant.

You'd find him wandering around the cargo hold, or sometimes sitting next to Vega or lying down near Cortez as he worked on the shuttle. Or sitting near the two people who were always talking in the hold and looking like he wished they'd pay him some attention. OH. And he'd lead you to your model ships hidden in the hold each time you come down to talk to people until they'd all been found. And Vega and Cortez would fuss over him and they'd yell across the hold at each other for feeding Urz treats cause they made his farts smell really bad (I knew a chocolate labrador who had this problem with cookies and muesli bars), and then they'd yell at each other about how they couldn't believe they were having this conversation. And sometimes he'd lollop after you as you go around the cargo hold and you could tell him to sit or that he was a good boy, or a bad one. Heehee.

And when you first get Urz you get called down into the hold because there's a shaking crate with a cryptic, grumpy note from Wrex "Damn thing's been so whiny since you left Tuchanka. He marked my chair. I was going to shoot him but I thought it would be funnier to make him your problem."

And lol carried away.

At this point I would spin that as Tying Up Lose Ends over Cliche anyday. It's not like Sidonis' promise got introduced in the last 5 mins of the game :P

Heh. I love clichés, don't get me wrong.

Besides, it would have been a nice consequence to Garrus' loyalty mission. Far as I know, killing or sparing Sidonis makes no difference whatsoever in 3.

YOU ARE SO BRILLIANT.
I'm so tempted to ask to steal it for my eventual fic... :innocent: I would credit you of course. "A present and quote from Wrex as thought up by Niostang of BSN" in the author's notes :D

I just had a random thought.

Garrus and Shep are technically not speaking the same language, right? They understand each other thanks to a translator. Now assume they have kids (which I totally do in my headcanon, as I am sure most of you are as well). How are they going to teach them to talk? Not saying that'll be impossible, I'm just wondering how the translator would handle baby talk, especially baby talk that most likely involves two very different languages.

I wonder what kind of pets they have on palaven? Something with natural defenses against radiation as it is Palaven of course and since it's those military nerds the turians it has to be usefull for military purposes. How about a turian equivalent of one of those awesome dogs they use to find things like bombs? I bet the turians made have lots of those with some genetical engineering help from the salarians and with all the political bigshots that visits the Normandy someone sniffing around for bombs and bugs would be a valuable member of the crew. He would patroll the corridors sniffing around for interesting stuff and sometimes interact with the crew.

Cortez: Hey commander, I belive our scaly friend here just saved the galaxy as he found a Cerberus present in our ammo supply. How about giving him a extra bone as a reward? Or whatever it is things like him likes.

Vega: I guess I'll forgive him for chewing on my shoes now.

The Normandy could use more aliens anyway, especialy of course turians. The presidium groundskeeper could have Thanes old room and make a garden for food and medicine. Since he is also the the famous Techno Turian in my headcannon he could also teach Shepard some new dance moves, something Shepard realy needs.

Chackwas could use a turian nurse. A hot female turian nurse.

A DLC that adds Lilitherax from Noveria working on a new turian version of the Mako down in the garage would make my wallet jump out of my pocket and open.

Hahaha go right ahead. I'm on a massive fic binge as part of my post-ending therapy. Between that, these forums and playing ME1 I'm less angry and more determined about the whole thing. When you're done I'd love to read what you've written ^_^

I'm glad I'm not the only one whose wondered about this hahah. I've always thought a creature that shows great loyalty would be considered worthy by turians, so yeah - a dog equivalent is always what crops up in my head. My brain tends to sub creatures that resemble the cat predators out of the Chronicles of Riddick.

I wish they'd kept Lilihierax's "chest bumps" dialogue. Opportunity to go down in gaming meme history goneeee.

Yeah this curious because I don't even know if turians could make a lot of the sounds required by human language and vice versa. Lips, tongue, soft palette (wow that sounds sort of hot), down to the way vocal chords are formed are all going to inform the way a language sounds. Take the word "maybe" - could a turian mouth ever form the shapes needed to pronounce that correctly? Though I have to say, I would looooooove to see what a turian baby would come up with trying to mimic human words. Also turian flang. Even if I could speak turian, I'd still get a turian to say all my stuff for me cause dat flang. Hehehe. Mmmmm. Ahem.

Hehe. That might be even worst for adoptive Krogans. If they cant make human nor turian sounds. Aunt Eve would have lot of work in front of her to help out my Shepard.

Speaking of Techno Turian, I immediately noticed Shepard's dance was the Techno Turian dance. It made me so happy, but then I wished to dance with the techo turian...or Garrus..
It's also Shepard's failed dance from ME2 Guess Shep just can't pull it off with her "dancing skills."

I love you, techno turian.
