Garrus has never been a LI for me, but I have to say that he's one of my favorite characters.
He is a great and upright person who has always been on Shepard's side.

Keep up the Garrus love ^_^ /)

I wonder what kind of pets they have on palaven?

Alien armadillos! :D

With guns strapped to their backs. You know, since they are pets to turians and all.

The Garrus/FemShep romance was definitely, imo, the best BioWare romance ever.

I'm here just showing my support for this thread. Garrus has always been my LI even in ME1 when I didn't romance anyone in hopes to be with him in ME2. Anyway keep the love going!

Don't know how many of you guys have already seen this: Garrus' Calibrations: Don't Disturb

I needed to share if just in case. Please support their animation as they are hilarious (Look up Legion and Friends they have a couple of videos) and they're going to be making more!

I remember when I started ME1, my boyfriend told me that Garrus was LI in it. The disappointment was indescribable when I found out I have to wait till ME2. Still, even when I had Kaidan for LI in ME1, I was constantly thinking about Garrus, always talking to him and imagining that they had lil something going

This seems to be the right place to ask, does Kaidan and Garrus have any jealousy-banter like Ash and Tali does?

No they don't. They're too cool for that.

... at least Garrus is.

My canon Shepard (and two others) also took Garrus as 'permanent' LI, even when he was not available yet... And while I enjoyed playing with a male Shepard as well, trying to play a female Shepard without a Turian by her side felt weird. Normal reaction, or just another symptome for crazyness?
Anyway, I'd agree that the Garrus-romance is BioWare's best romance until now. Haven't played all their games, though.

Careful: Tech-tweaks concerning movie replacements following...

While I had no major problems replacing the sequence before the jungle planet scene with a home-cooked screenshot-animation, the stargazers at the end gave me a small headache. The possible variations I encountered:

a) All pictures are shown, but instead of showing the "buy our DLC"-screen, a black screen comes and refuses to go. Ctrl-Alt-Del still possible to return to desktop. Usually combined with audio errors and possible graphic glitches in the jungle scene, if the game manages to load it.
B) Like a), except that returning to desktop does not work. Very annoying.
c) Some of the pictures are shown, but somewhere in the middle, the screenshot sequence freezes. No audio error, though, and no further errors - jungle scene plays normally and "buy DLC" screen appears, game is autosaved as usually and Shepard appears on the Normandy right before the attack on the Cronos station.

I have no idea what the real reason for these errors is, but here is at least a workaround which cures the symptoms:
End004.bik (stargazers) is about 20 Mb in size. If the movie is replaced with something smaller (easily done when selfmade-movie is set to 1fps), the consequence is usually a) or B).
If the movie is replaced with something significantly larger (also easily done, just pick a high fps and some cool picture fading effects), c) occurs. The "freezing point" seems to be proportional to the size of the replacement file, so if a 40 Mb file is chosen, the movie freezes about halfway.
Replacing the 75-seconds clip with something shorter usually resulted in a) or B) as well, choosing a longer clip just meant that the end is not shown.

Consequence: All my 21-22 Mb replacement endings with 5 seconds additional length (just give the last intended screen a longer screen-time and play around with the compression of the bik-file) work perfectly fine. At least if you can ignore picture artefacts and errors due to the compression algorithms used... But choosing "no compression" for the avi-file always meant a) or B) for me.

The general problem with these replacements is, in addition to those mentioned some pages before, that it is best to have a number of endings ready for different characters or LIs. And, depending on the playthrough, these endings have to be adjusted manually, that is copying the desired choice before actually playing through the ending. And, finally, turning of the voices really helps with the immersion factor. It is a bit strange to listen to grandfather's voice while reading through some screens.

But in the end, your own personal ending may tell you something like this:
-------------------

If anyone else finds the time to try it, I'd love to see other alternative endings :)
Unless BioWare comes up with a satisfying end. Let's hope for that.

Edit: Never copy a wall of text from word if you care about the format of your text...

Was honestly hoping for a little something, maybe just a line or something like it. Oh well.

No problem!

Kaidan will mention it briefly. That's pretty much it.

We all were hoping for 'something'. Maybe not the big catfight but... a tiny acknowledgment

Kaidan gives Garrus a angry look.

Garrus: One word Alenko; reach.

Kaidan opens his mouth to say something, but gives up and walks away silently frowning.

I see you went very mild here... If it was on a bad day, Garrus could have said 'trust'. <_<

It's sad that as the most supportive ME1 character, Kaidan never gets to really be who he used to be in ME3. I made a renegon vangard who kept faithful during ME2. The kind of gal who would go charging head first with her best friend Garrus. And I was hoping Kaidan would get a few chances to protect her from herself like he did during ME1. You know like telling her jumping down a cliff is stupid and dragging her and Garrus back home. So Im a bit sad at how his character was handled. Instead of smart and cautious, they made him insecure.  He never takes a stand. He might tell you jumping a cliff is bad but in the end he will jsut fallow you, making him the worst type of yes-man there is, the grumpy type.

Yeah, Kaidan was better back in ME1. But it is kind of unfair to compare him and Ashley to Garrus who realy got to shine in three games while the poor unvirmired human LI from ME1 was demoted to doubting you due to Cerberus in ME 2 and 3. They deserved better. But at least we still got Garrus.

Agreed, Ash was my favorite in ME1, I didn't recognize her in the third.

Gah, I knew as soon as the talixgarrus stuff was gonna happen that some people were going to call that his "canon" romance. Because it's the more "likely" outcome or something.

So now it's "official" that they were flirting in ME2 and in the start of ME3 (even if you are with one of them) according to some. I really wish Kal didn't die...

Its also "lolcanon" that Shepard is male and romances Liara. I really wouldn't let it bother you. Its a cute easter egg, and doesn't even imply a serious relationship if you take it at face value.

I recruited her now and so far she hasn't even acknowledged that Garrus is onboard.

Besides, am I the only one who thinks that Garrus and Tali have nothing in common besides both being dextros and both having followed Shepard for three games?

I think so too. It took me completely by surprise that they would share any romantic interest towards each other if they weren't romanced.
I was shipping Tali with Kal so hard... They together made more sense than GarrusxTali.
