The Tali/Garrus thing bothers me, but not in a jealousy kind of way, it bothers me in a poorly-written kind of way. I'm sure I could find a fic somewhere that does more justice to that pairing than Bioware ever did in their games... I have a whole argument saved in a document explaining why I feel this way based on the games' narratives, but I'll only post that novel if asked for it xD I don't want to bore anyone to tears!!

EDIT: Besides I'm pretty sure I posted it already when the script leaked...

I remember your arguments made some sense. Its pretty clear they didnt start putting to blocks together for their romance before ME3. They had a brother/sister vibe in ME2. The idea of it isnt awful, its rather cute imo, but the implementation is meh.

But even if they did a meh job, there's a few other  things they need to corrrect first. :bandit:

What do you mean Shepard is dead? Shepard obviously fires the Crucible at the end, destroys the Reapers and gets off the Citadel with a big smile on her face like at the end of ME1. Then she has babies with Garrus. On a beach.

I like this human.  She understands.

Thanks. Love your fics, BTW.

Oh!  Thank you!

I just did Tali's ME2 loyalty quest.  I have headcanoned away Reegar's off-screen death.  They can live together on Rannoch and have a horde of adorable quarian babies--some of the first born without the need for suits or bubbles.  Shepard and Garrus get to be godparents.

Huh.  I like these headcanoning superpowers I've developed after ME3.  Silver lining to everything :D

I honestly thought that was where they were going to go with it and was quite surprised when I heard that Kal died. But yeah the way I head canon it they all end up happy in the end. <3

It's easy to headcanon him surviving if you're like me and never knew he died until I read the forum posts :P

But yeah, very surprising when they so heavily implied it in ME2.

It's my new minor superpower.  That and my ability to find parking in Los Angeles ^_^

@Karrie:  No, Veetor doesn't turn up in ME3.  I miss him.  Then again, I suppose they can't fit in every side character in the series considering the crap job they did of some of the major ones.  *looks meaningfully at Jacob*

Speaking of Jacob, I won't comment on how they handled the romance except that the talk in the Citadel afterwards is really too awkward - BUT good god I wanted to smack him when he said my only love is the Normandy and that I couldn't possibly understand his feelings. To make it worse, Garrus is standing right there <_<

I hate it when characters make assumption about Shep's personality and she has no option to reply. This line made me want to punch Jacob in the face.

Sure my Shep couldn't understand his feelings.  She couldn't understand knocking someone up in the middle of a goddamn war and abandoning the fight for the galaxy's survival <_<  I wish there'd been an option to tell him to hurl Brynn out an airlock and get his sorry ass back out there blowing up husks.

And, oh yeah, I forgot to post this up...

My Shepard, Devonna, and Garrus. In talks.

I drew this before ME3 came out and my first time drawing a Turian. If only I knew about the ending...

Edit: That's Shepard's Space Hedgehog. Shepard's more of a hedgehog person. I used to have a hedgehog irl, but my dog killed him. I hate dogs. :crying:

The Normandy bit made me realize that maybe Jacob never understood Shepard at all. He's almost like an avatar of the devs saying 'there's no point of letting Shepard get some rest. Way better making her die once her adventures are done. After all, she only really lives for the Normandy'

Also, I know we cant talk with Jacob abotu his father in ME2 but im inclined to think that if we had talked with him, it cold have been possible to prevent him from searching a fake sense of stability by having a baby during the 'war to end all  wars' and trying to become a father figure (protector) to a group of scientists. The man is jsut broken behind repairs.

It depends a lot on your Shepard, I think, and what you see as a reasonable future. For me, that was a rare moment of someone "getting" my Shepard, though saying it's her only love is a bit much. I took it as him rightly pointing out that my Shepard views the Normandy as her home and that it's hard to imagine her ever settling down. She'll go out guns blazing. Retirement or old age were never options.

For that matter, I took the goodbye conversation with Garrus as wishful thinking colored by fully knowing they weren't likely to make it out. It felt final to me.

I do agree that fighting to save the galaxy ought to still be Jacob's top priority even if he does have a girlfriend. And I didn't care for him in either game.

Im one of the few who see Shep and Garrus going off togetehr in a blaze of glory. Im more annoyed they cant fight together til the end (wtf getting teleported to the normandy then stranded on a random planet) and meet up in that heaven bar then the fact there's no happy ending. I still like reading about everyone's  headcanon happy ending with Garrus tho, for sure.

Still, I never felt my only love would be the Normandy. After being spaced and dying from it in ME2... I still like space travel, but its not the romantic ME1 dream it was.

Like you said, I guess it depends on your Shepard. Its nice what Jacob said fits yours. akes him less out of character for you.

Oh... ToP... right

here!
