Still, I never felt my only love would be the Normandy. After being spaced and dying from it in ME2... I still like space travel, but its not the romantic ME1 dream it was.
Heh, I can definitely see how that could sour someone on the space-faring dream.

It depends a lot on your Shepard, I think, and what you see as a reasonable future. For me, that was a rare moment of someone "getting" my Shepard, though saying it's her only love is a bit much. I took it as him rightly pointing out that my Shepard views the Normandy as her home and that it's hard to imagine her ever settling down. She'll go out guns blazing. Retirement or old age were never options.
For that matter, I took the goodbye conversation with Garrus as wishful thinking colored by fully knowing they weren't likely to make it out. It felt final to me.
I do agree that fighting to save the galaxy ought to still be Jacob's top priority even if he does have a girlfriend. And I didn't care for him in either game.
Exactly. I have a couple Sheps that would fit Jacob's statement, but not all of them. I don't know what the intent was with that line, either giving a definitive trait to Shepard or just making Jacob appear like a douche. I remember that asI wrote an article about the game the other day I insisted on my annoyance at being "robbed" from my Shep in ME3. The one who wouldn't give that much thought into the death of an unknown child, for instance. I miss her. Anyone else got the same feeling or is it just me?

i kinda miss my 'evil' Sheps too. The very 'specist' one who hanged with Ash in ME1. The one who was all happy to call Cerberus home. Even my naive paragon Shep who ended up trusting TIM in ME2 (I wanted her to be horrifefd of what she did in ME3, but she comes out with the higher hand anyway)... i dunno what to do with them yet tbh.

Like you said, I guess it depends on your Shepard. Its nice what Jacob said fits yours. akes him less out of character for you.
It fit for my Shep, but in a weird sort of way. It's the kind of thing that anyone other than those who knew her really well would say about her. She's bound to her duty in ME3, but if you plonked down a Mirror of Erised in front of her, she wants nothing more than peace, quiet, and a family with Garrus.
Kinda sad, actually.

Definitely not. It felt weird and pseudo-incestuous to me. It kind of felt like they were both settling for each other out of loneliness, which just makes me sad. And for the dumbest reason possible; DNA chirality. Seriously, what does that have to do with relationships? Tali is quarian, sex for her is dangerous with anyone, especially outside her species. So they can eat the same food. That's like basing a relationship solely on whether or not someone is a vegetarian.Aeowyn wrote...
Besides, am I the only one who thinks that Garrus and Tali have nothing in common besides both being dextros and both having followed Shepard for three games?
As for the 'they've been through so much together' argument, that works for Garrus and most every female squaddie. What's the difference between them and Tali aside from a singular, sibling-like teasing on the Citadel? To which, I might add, Tali did not seem to respond to in a friendly manner, much less in a flirtatious way. It's not actually that I mind seeing him with someone else, I just think the basis for the relationship is flimsy.
It just rubs salt in the wound that unlike Tali/Garrus, Tali/Reegar was chock full of chemistry. ::shakes fist at e-mail::
AUGH, YES. Man, Jacob, I was never a hater but... you'd better watch your mouth. You know full well the epic love story that unfolded right before the suicide mission, and I'm not talking Joker/EDI. ;PBluumberry wrote...
Speaking of Jacob, I won't comment on how they handled the romance except that the talk in the Citadel afterwards is really too awkward - BUT good god I wanted to smack him when he said my only love is the Normandy and that I couldn't possibly understand his feelings. To make it worse, Garrus is standing right there <_<

Not sure if this was mentioned already but I'm pretty sure I just heard Brandon Keener, voice of Garrus, on a McDonalds Fillet O Fish radio commercial.
And is it just me or does he voice the Salarian at Sur'Kesh, the one at the panel you can keep touching to annoy him? It sounds like him but they changed it somehow.....I could be losing my mind.

Thank sweet baby Jesus I'm the only one who doesn't get Garrus/Tali. I mean, I'm glad Garrus is happy because if I don't romance him that's all I want for him; he and my Shep are best friends, no one can replace him. But my Shepard felt almost inclined to say:
"You and Tali? I...er...I don't get it."
I also thought Tali would have been more broken up about Kal'Reegar's death! When I got the email, I thought I'd find Tali sobbing. They were flirting hardcore in ME2, what the heck happened?! They would have been adorable together, I half expected them to be together by the time I saw her again. :\\
Anyway. Yeah. Also wanted to smack Jacob for that comment, but I think I posted that already...XD
EDIT: Why the feck did it quote my post as Aris's?

Also SPOILERS AHEAD (just in case)
Once again: BEWARE SPOILERS!
I loved the Garrus-mance and I actually squee'ed when I first met him again.
Also in the goodbye scene, did anyone notice that Garrus' line about "your boyfriend has an order" was delivered in a slightly louder, rougher and more flanging tone? I sure did and it felt good.
Regarding the ending which doesn't exist, I kind of liked it (could accept it) up untill Shepard fall and the floorpanel-elevator lifts her up. Then the game just went to wacky-town. Besides the non-exiting ending being bad I thought it was so absurd it was hilarious. I actually snickered constantly during the jungle-planet scene where I got Joker, Garrus and Javik being stranded together.
Edit:
Regarding Tali and Garrus I thought it was weird too, and to me they seem more like siblings or close friend, and I agree with some of the other people here that they had no chemistry unlike with Reegar and Tali. (Poor Reegar

Hello ME3-Garrus thread, just finished ME3 (my PC was an a** so I had to start all over wth ME2 before ME3).

Once again: BEWARE SPOILERS!
I loved the Garrus-mance and I actually squee'ed when I first met him again. And when my Shepard declared her love for him and he just said "wow", like he never thought she, commander Shepard, would actually love him back. *sigh* I think Garrus has ruined every other male-ME romance for me. As Shepard so brilliantly said it: "There's no Shepard without Vakarian".
Also in the goodbye scene, did anyone notice that Garrus' line about "your boyfriend has an order" was delivered in a slightly louder, rougher and more flanging tone? I sure did and it felt good.<3

Hey!
Yep, felt exactly the same. Everything was perfect, but after that damn elevator (Bioware sure has a problem with elevators) everything went to hell. The jungle planet scene had me in tears.

So some people have said they love the adoption thing, others say it's not for their Shepard. Was anyone else like me, had thought about this before and had their headcanon drastically changed when they found out Garrus wants to be a dad?
My thoughts were, "Kids? Psh, that seems unlikely. They're going to be off righting wrongs and protecting the innocent, not settling down on some planet and turning domestic!" ... Then Garrus says he wants to retire and have a family. And my Shepard is like, "O-okay! <3"
I'm glad they offered dialogue choices for both, though. And that both are kind of adorable in their own right. Sometimes I just like clicking the bottom option to hear Garrus' adorable line. xD

Yep! I discovered I wanted Shep and Garrus to have kids when she did: when he brought it up!
Besides it made sense for her, being a Colonist. I assume she was (unconsciously) waiting for the person who could spark the wish in her to start a new family after she so tragically lost hers.
I like cheesy scenarios.

I think it's safe to assume that Shepards of both genders prefer it dextro. At least if you listen to many of the cool and smart people in the Talimancer and Garrusmancer threads. On the other hand the film Fleet and Flottilla seems realy popular in the ME universe so even devoted dextromancers like myself can imagine that the two young tech geeks may have something in common.Benathorn wrote...

Ah don't worry about it. Theres a thousand paged thread on here with Talimancers that will also not acknowledge this fact as being true. Garrus is with Femshep and Tali is with Maleshep, it's as simple as that
My main femshep and maleshep however, have claimed dat dextro ass for themselves.
