Something funny I found over on Reddit:

"Garrus isn't romance-able in ME1 because you have to die before you can go to heaven."

Yeeeeees!

LOL, I saw that Reddit topic. Most of those Garrus Vakarian facts actually came from an earlier incarnation of this thread, the archive is linked on the OP. <3

EDIT: That is a GORGEOUS piece of fanart, CrazyIvan. Why have I never seen that before?? ::saves:: O_O <3

Yeah, see, I'm in the camp where having actual choices should be the main objective. The 'happy ending' (as happy as it could be considering how dark the rest of the game was, we're not talking the dreaded 'sunshine and rainbows') shouldn't be off the table. Neither should self-sacrifice.

But I'm getting off-topic. Seriously though, I don't want to meet Garrus 'up at the bar'. In my headcanon, the date is on the beach. He can still bring the wine. B)

Same here. Don't remember who here wrote it, but someone imagined the ending like Garrus and Shep sitting on a beach, and then the camera pans and you see dead reapers sticking out of water, everything around them in ruins and rubble ofcourse. I could live with that :)

I know I heard something like that while watching a Youtube video rant on the ending. "Mass Effect 3 ending and why we hate it" by jeremyjauns

I support loads of choices as well.

And Im always happy to read about the beach, sunshine and babies ending you guys are having. But I just want to have my ending too .

For me all that matters is that they realized they wanted to have a life together. And if they die, its fighting to retake the galaxy.

They could have made some beautiful sacrifice ending. Garrus and Shepard heading together into the synthesis beam would have been nice. Or busting out the destroy ending and watching things crumble ( and ultimatly surviving, for those who want it, of course).

Hey, I'm sorry if it sounded like I never wanted that option to exist. It should. It's a beautiful ending. :)
I think deep down we all want the same thing: CHOICES.

Hahaha. It's nice see Vakarian can be attention-grabby too. Though, I wouldn't have expected him to go about it this way - but I am definitely not complaining.

The Hundred Year Distance

Here's another fanfic I encountered (Garrus/FSHep FANFIC SO MUCH CRACK FOR THE MIND how did I not discover you soooonnnerrrr). It's an oldie, but if you haven't read it, it's in the same emotional vein as the fic "I Waited" posted earlier but instead G + Shep defeated the reapers and have spent their lives together ever since. It's heartbreaking in a way that makes me want to grow old with someone, but it still manages to somehow be uplifting somehow despite the sorrow you feel.

Unlike some endings I know :bandit:

P.S. This thread is awesome and ILU guys.

I don't mind the sacrifice ending realy. Shepards story needs to end in a grandiose and definite way. But it would have been better for my dextromanciing main Shepards to end the game with their dextro love and bro like the two first games.

Shepard: Looks like this is it guys, sorry.
Tali: No regretts Shepard.
Garrus: Right behind you, just like old times.
Shepard: No, you two walks right beside me as equals.

A terribly sappy ending I know, but sometimes I am just too romantic.

Thanks Karrie! We should all get a chance at the ending we wanted !

@ Argraharg ME is so much about the characters. Shep of course but the squaddies also. I just cant wrap my head around the idea of destroying the galaxy alone. Its like the antithesis of what ME had been all along. Your ending dialogue is quite cute. I wish we could have bring our favorite squaddies to the ending and live/die together at the end (also the ME2 characters should have been there, for those who got attached to them more).

This.

I just don't understand why Bioware couldn't make multiple endings they talked about. The ending we got doesn't feel like an ending to me. Everything is left unsaid and unfinished. I was ready to work for my happy ending for hours but...

I just want Shepard to finally have some peace and happiness after everything she has done. :)

I dunnoooo. Ever since reginaprimata put out that comic, I'm pretty happy to look at that and say to myself "I can live with that." Haha. That's a shirtless Garrus I can get behind. Or, y'know. On top of. *tiptoes off, whistling innocuously*

I'm curious about something here fellas. Did any of you kill off the Quarians? According to the leaked script, if the Quarians were wiped out, Garrus's family will be killed as the Turians expected the Quarians to help evacuate their civilians.

So to those who did kill off the Quarians in their playthrough, did it alter the fate of Garrus's family?

Glad I saved the quarians and the geth.  Though to be entirely honest, I'd take the geth hands-down if I couldn't get both.  But that doesn't make sense with the timing in-game of Garrus's transmission from his dad.  I got that before resolving the quarian vs. geth war.

Still haven't reached ME3 yet, am now starting the suicide mission in ME2, so I'm getting closer.

Thanks for posting these pictures! :)
Though I'd prefer the warm-sunny-beach-adoption idea. Not saying that the bar-in-heaven scene is bad - I'd just like some more decades before Shepard and Garrus visit it.

Regarding the quarian / geth decision: I have always had the option to save both, so there were no problems for me. If neither Tali nor Legion were around, I'd probably choose the geth's side (or just delete the save game), since the quarian admirals, desperate or not, digged their own grave - and the geth always seemed kind of innocent to me. Besides, even my blue-glowing paragon-forever Shepard is tempted to take the renegade interrupt with Han'Gerrel, so without Tali, there is no sympathy bonus for them. If just one of them was alive in a playthrough, I'd probably choose her / its side, since I can't imagine my Shepard actively causing the death of his / her 'little sister' or 'best robotic friend'. And if both Tali and Legion were there without an option for peace - well, reload or delete save game. Easy.

Out of curiosity: What is the default setting in ME3, if no ME2-Shepard is imported? Tali / Legion alive or dead, option for peace between geth and quarians?

There you go. :)

Trick is;
[img ] link [/ img]

Remove the spaces for it to work.

Anyway, I prefer turian/human adoption because of the age thing. IIRC Krogan can reach a higher age than both humans and turians and that just doesn't work for me. xD

Edit: good timing, top of the page. :'D
