Out of curiosity: What is the default setting in ME3, if no ME2-Shepard is imported? Tali / Legion alive or dead, option for peace between geth and quarians?

I believe the default is that Tali is alive but Legion was sold to cerberus so instead of Legion you get the 'Geth vi' and it doesn't trust you at all, unlike Legion, also unlike Legion it doesn't want peace with the quarians, it wants to destroy them for starting the war and attacking their magastructure/dyson sphere thing, so there is no peace option unless you import a save. It also has a lot less personality than Legion, for example when you ask Legion what it was like to interface with a reaper he/it is awed and has more perspective on why some view them as gods, while the Geth vi just says that they gained no data from it.

On the topic of why they probably cut Sidonis' involvement with Garrus' family: they had a result for Sidonis living but they either didn't have one for him being killed or they didn't want an out cry of "Why do I need to spare him just to save Garrus' family now??!!"

I'd like to recommend this masskink fill to you all as it was a pleasure to read.

Just started ME2 again. I found this line hilarious, especially when out of context, and also because on Citadel date Garrus said "there are other things you're good at" :P

I'm curious about something here fellas. Did any of you kill off the Quarians? According to the leaked script, if the Quarians were wiped out, Garrus's family will be killed as the Turians expected the Quarians to help evacuate their civilians.

So to those who did kill off the Quarians in their playthrough, did it alter the fate of Garrus's family?

I sorta accidentaly killed the quarians the first time through. Didn't see it coming and I'm pretty sure I cried a lil bit. Regardless, I don't remember their being any change as far as Garrus' family is concerned. They made if off Palaven. The only difference I noticed is obviously one less team member, and Garrus gets really really mopey for awhile.

Would you guys like for me to just post that part from the leaked script?

I had a great time watching Javik go as well. He wasnt likable but he certainly made me laugh more then a few. The mix of knowing so much and then acting like Grunt was priceless. Plus he seemed to like Garrus.

I noticed he talked to Garrus a lot too. Mostly about war. Felt bad for poor EDI, I remember looking at the map to see who was where and seeing Javik's name in the AI core. Anyone else afraid he was going to unplug her?

Huh, looks like I missed out on some Javik dialogue in my first play through... I surprisingly liked Javik and I always wanted to hear him chat with the crew more, the few conversations I caught did make me giggle though.

But I don't remember him talking to Garrus even once. (maybe because Garrus spent most of his damned time in the rec room talking about his adventures, like a BAMF)

And hello! *Long time lurker, first time poster*:bandit:

Welcome! :) LOVE your avatar.
I don't recall him and Javik talking too much either... when do they have a banter? Do they even have a banter on the Normandy?

I never realized how much ME 3 sucked without Garrus. To me, he made the game for me... he was my main motivation to fly through the game, to complete every mission, to hear him talk after every one of them, to achieve the best ending and live happily with him (and we all know how well that worked out -_- ).

My friend is playin ME 3 and the only characters he liked were from ME 2 (Mordin, Jack) and now that they are secondary characters, I couldnt help but relate to him when I imagined that Garrus never existed... BioWare screwed up big when signing on with EA... goddamn it...

Victus was pretty sexy though... yummm:wub: I want him and Garrus at the same time

Not sure the handling of the ME2 crew as anything to do with EA. There was just too many squaddies around after ME2. I think its more of a game design flaw. We wanted lots awsome characters and when the story got too big, we ended up losing them . i guess its specially hard for the people who didnt play ME1.

I wish there had been a mix of ME1 returning characters and ME2 squaddies (even if it would have been unfair for some of them). Its nice to get the 'ive been on one side since the beginning' character arc but all of them doing it.. I dunno, it gets old after a while. Maybe Liara should have stayed as Shadow Broker and Tali with her people. I loved helping them but they are all acting like Garrus at some point, having nothing else to do the bro-ing Shep when the story would have put them somewhere else. Garrus had his task fource while Shep was away but after the Krogans are sent to Palaven, his place is on the Normandy, where the real resources against the Reapers are. I know the Reapers threaten everyone but Tali has her planet back and she is the best asset to work with the Geths, having known Leagion and all. On the other hand, they had to make Jacob cheat and give him a pregnant girlfriend to keep off the team <_< (not that I like him particularly, but it was pretty far fetched).Of course, all LIs should br there for the retake Earth last mission, but during the rest of the time, switching them on and off the team fallowing how the story evolves would have made much more sense.

About the Victus, Victus senior is more of a father figure to my tastes. Somekind of turian Anderson. But Victus junior was quite cute. His sacrifice will certainly be reminded.

So did Shepard there, that was a me2-import so not sure why the blue/red didn't show up that time (loaded earlier savegame) where last time saved both...
At least she tried to save Tali; paragon interrupt.....:(

I don't think I could stomach Tali dying...

Did you do every single side mission before the last mission on Rannoch? Were Tali and Legion both loyal? Did you rewrite the heretics or destroy them?

Eh, I thought that it made sense for Tali to tag along. Her home planet isn't going to matter if everyone gets crushed by the reapers, so I'm really glad she had the "I take back that silly thing I said" speech and she joined us, though she really only is helpful against Geth in the second and third games, so she at that point had outlived her usefulness. It certainly would make sense for Jacob to tag along, instead of giving you that "I'm on some other sh*t" line. Like with Tali, his girlfriend and his forthcoming baby won't matter if they don't defeat the reapers first. By the time he fed me the line twice, I wouldn't have wanted him back on the ship anyways.

It was a shame. I actually liked him in the second game, even if he was just a boring version of Thane. He performed all the functions Miranda claimed to do.

Also... for Primarch Victus. There were a couple conversations he and Shep had about being in charge of everything that showed a lot of potential compatibility. I could totally see him and Shep hooking up/getting together under slightly different circumstances.

I jsut took Liara and Tali as examples of 'having better things to do'  to contrast with what they did to, for xamples, Miranda, who as been all about humanity and whose sister we already saved once, and  Jacob whose excuse turs out to be 'Sorry Shepard, the writers gave me a girlfriend between the 2 games, so I guess I should go hang out with her'. Some characters have the most unatural reasons to not be around and others with good reasons jsut get to use the 'its the reapers' excuse. It felt pretty bipolar to me.

You needed to save the admiral to get an extra peace point. I am sorry.
