I'm so glad I managed to save both the Quarians and the Geth during my first playthrough. Didn't have to go through that scene...

I jsut took Liara and Tali as examples of 'having better things to do'  to contrast with what they did to, for xamples, Miranda, who as been all about humanity and whose sister we already saved once, and  Jacob whose excuse turs out to be 'Sorry Shepard, the writers gave me a girlfriend between the 2 games, so I guess I should go hang out with her'. Some characters have the most unatural reasons to not be around and others with good reasons jsut get to use the 'its the reapers' excuse. It felt pretty bipolar to me.

I agree, there was favouritism and it was pretty badly covered by the writing. I would also have liked ALL squadmates (yep, even Garrus) to come and go in the squad at keypoints in the story. Then again I remember the developers wanted to limit the number of squadmates to allow Shepard to have a deep relationship with them. Which is understandable.
So, I'm kinda on the fence. Plus, favouritism worked for us Garrusmancers, and yeah, to be honest, I won't complain about how much content we got with him.

Anyway, I prefer turian/human adoption because of the age thing. IIRC Krogan can reach a higher age than both humans and turians and that just doesn't work for me. xD

I totally forgot about the age thing. I was mostly thinking about how I wanted to see turian kids... that and female turians.  We nevar actually got to go to Palaven:(

Hopefully, after we bioware adds some closure to make consumers want to replay the game, they can provide DLC that takes us to the turian homeworld.

Did you do every single side mission before the last mission on Rannoch? Were Tali and Legion both loyal? Did you rewrite the heretics or destroy them?

both legion and tali loyal in me2, if it matters cleared her of her charges in me2... rewrote heretics.
played the same as last time only difference was chosing different dialog choice when talking to that Reaper (bottom right + renegade interrupt) instead of left dialog...

and saved quarian civilians instead of admiral...
my games glitch sometimes so its alright, i can go with it as it went... tali...

You needed to save the admiral to get an extra peace point. I am sorry.

it's alright, and I kind of did want to see what would happen with the different choices anyways, so I got my answer anyways... so even if I did save Admiral there, likely would have clicked the other choices that werent red or blue...

I thought seriously about making intentionally tragic decisions in ME2 and ME3 (killing squaddies in the suicide mission, botching the quarians and geth) to up the drama for my Shep's story, but ME3 turned out to be such a clusterfbomb anyway, not even including the endings, that she needed whatever hope spots she could get.  The genophage cure and resolving the quarian/geth conflict were just about the only things that actually went right.

That's ok. Although I think the whole Tali/Garrus thing is cute (although kinda sudden) in my non dextro romancing playthroughs, I can understand the dislike for her character. Many players have trouble liking some characters (myself included).

Some Alistair fans had the same reaction upon finding out he hooks up with Leliana in the AU Darkspawn Chronicles for DA:O.  I can understand, even if I didn't react like that at all.

I am dreading finishing the quarian/geth storyline.  I am enjoying the geth consensus, but it'll kill me seeing Legion die again.  I like Tali as an individual, but as a species, I find the geth so much more sympathetic.

I suppose you could side with legion during the Tali/Legion loyalty conflict in ME2, then send her through the vent...
Personally the only charcter i really have a strong dislike for is Ashley... and thats easily bypassed

Yep, the only reason I fought so hard for Quarian/Geth peace was Tali. I didn't care at all about the Quarians themselves, but I'm not killing off my BFF. I've been siding with the Geth since ME1. I found it curious so many people were blaming them for defending themselves against their creators. What's an AI to do?

LOL I used to like Ashley but when I found out she was racist, i hated her. I love the part in ME 1 where my Sheploo corrected her attitude towards aliens, she said,

"If you want me to kiss a turian on the cheek, just say the word!" and I was like "No, thats my job!... HEY GARRUS! C'MERE! I GOT SOMETHING TO SHOW YOU!"

She doesn't hate aliens, she just doesn't trust them. Not trying to tell you how to think I just think that Ashley's "racism" is misrepresented by the fanbase. Sorry if that was a little ranty, it's just really annoying when people claim they don't like Ashley because she's racist, nothing wrong with hating her there are plenty of valid reasons to dislike her it's just impossible to hate her because of her 'racism' since she's not racist.

I have to say the biggest istake I made in the game (aside from finishing ME3 and seeing it's ending) was letting Ash die on Virmire.  If I had known just how much of a tool Kaidan was going to be, the Virmire decision would have been much easier.  That being said, I know Ash pretty much does what Kaiden does, but at least I wouldn't have to deal with her hitting on my character. (someday I'll replay it and fix things)

I would have liked to have had to option to slap Kaiden and tell him that Garrus is ten times the man he'll ever be.  Maybe then he would get the hint.

Considering her background is made sense why she felt the way that she did. I found her issues and her conversations more interesting than kaidan's but that's just me. Ash was my sister in combat back in ME1 , in fact I wish Jack was a squaddie again so I could have my two favourite gals fighting by my side.  Oh and I LOVED the turian kiss comment , the foreshadowing was just delicious!
