"Not saying you don't know how to handle a gun, just that some of us can make it dance."
"There are few people in the Galaxy who've seen me in action, Garrus. They seemed impressed."
"Myeah, but I've actually seen you dance - no comment."
"Alright Vakarian - You're going down!"

Soooo cuuuute. Followed by the satisfying *KPCHOWwwwwww* of the Mantis shooting  the bottles. <3

I think this is the only thing I like about ME 3. Garrus. The rest of the story just went terribly sidewards otherwise.

Edit: On the female turians - It would make more sense for the females to have the same appearance, but a smaller middle headcrest. Or have a different facial feature, such as Saren.

Argh seriously Bioware always do this. Just shows you how good they are at actually creating characters.:P

Youre so right Aris! Plus its nice to see someone else would hae liked a little more time with Sagacious Zu. I dont even remember the name of that guy we were supposed to romance in Jade Empire but I certainly stayed celibate when Zu died.

Also Varric, is the best bro character (cause Garrus is a LI. If not, it would be hard to decide which). The 2 male LIs were into so much angst, it made them quite inattractive.

I too am of the older crowd, and a huge Garrus fan.
I mean, really, how could anyone think that any male besides Garrus could possibly be the right match for Shepard?
Kaidan is entirely too soft and way too tied up in control issues.
Thane is a "maybe", but he really is too ... sedate.
Jacob? WAY too straight lace/tow the line.

Garrus, especially post-Omega Garrus, is definitely the man for the job.

;)

Well, I'll have to disagree about Kaidan, but then again, I *am* in a stupid love triangle...

Aah, Varric, apart from the fact that he made his bolts rain from the sky (am I the only one who found that incredibly ridiculous?) he was such a bro. I miss him. I love bards.

I liked Anders but damn was he WHINY. What exactly makes Bioware believe that women are into whiny characters? Because it makes them all touchy-feely? Well I hate to say this, but to quote Shepard and Kelly from ME2 (which is funny because that's my name), a lot of women like bad boys, it's a dirty stereotype but in my case it happens to be true.

... and I'm certain I am not alone in that fault.

I choose to believe Varric's more ridiculous abilities were from his inability to stop exaggerating. Otherwise a rain of crossbow bolts makes no sense at all... though he's awesome enough that I'd let him get away with it.

Now that I think about it though, Garrus and Anders had the same beginning appeal for me. They were both dedicated to a cause and to justice, but in a way that wasn't necessarily good for them or said cause. Anders flipping out and killing people didn't help things. Garrus being willing to work outside the law was one thing, but the Punisher-style punishments? Wanting to harvest a guy's organs instead of just shooting him and being done with it? That's overkill and just creepy. I liked seeing both of them try to walk that line and having the protagonist occasionally need to try to talk them down (or goad them on, whichever way you want).

Garrus has the easy confidence and competence that Anders never did though, so he wins, no contest. And I'd let Garrus take over running things without a second thought. Anders shouldn't be left in charge of anything. Or without supervision.

I have finally dragged myself back here... after several months of avoiding spoilers and then several weeks of trying to mentally recover from awesomeness and tragedy... I just had to make sure you guys were still here and still loving Garrus/turians/things with fringes and mandibles.

I wish I had something more impressive to announce my arrive with...  like a doughnut or a bottle of Garrus wine. But I have nothing.

Here's a big test question for you : Did you purposefully miss or hit during the date with Garrus ?

Your cockatiel is ADORABLE.  I want to nuzzle his little fringe and feed him treats and spoil him rotten.  Do birds like head scratches the way cats do?

I did love the Anders romance, but for very different reasons from the Garrus one.  Anders is seriously the worst boyfriend ever: selfish, psychologically unstable, emotionally dependent, and capable of everything from emotional blackmail to terrorism to get what he wants.  I romanced him anyway because TEH DRAMAZ made for a fantastic story and some very interesting character development.  Also, he was sexy.  Call me superficial.

I romanced Garrus because he's the perfect boyfriend for Shep: loving, stable, supportive, and just about the only person in the galaxy who seems to be able to make her laugh.  Anders made everything worse; Garrus makes everything better.  Seriously, Garrus needs to start a counseling class for the other LIs to give them some tips.

Yeah... he and Kaidan can take turns teaching the class.  Kaidan can teach the conflict resolution portion.

I actually mean that in a good way.

100% agreed.  Though I think they should start with the very basics, like "How Not To Be a Tool" and "Hey, Maybe Don't Mention Your Dead Wife All The Time."  Baby steps and all.

Garrus: OK DA2 guys.  Here are your problems.  Fenris, grow up and handle your man feelings like a big boy instead of running out on poor Hawke.
Fenris:  But I was a SLAAAAAVE!
Garrus: Anders, turn down the crazy.  By about a hundred orders of magnitude.
Anders:  But MAAAAAAGES!
Garrus: Sebastian, put out.
Sebastian: But the MAAAAAAKER!
Garrus:  *looks at Kaidan*  They sent us some real winners, didn't they?
Kaidan: I say we call blank slate on this and go play poker with James.
Garrus: What, so he can clean you out again?
Kaidan: *shrugs*  Anything beats this.

Brilliant ;)

Though, on Anomen: I may remember it wrong, but if you manage *not* to kill him out of frustration up to Throne of Bhaal, he's basically okay. Offers support after a nightmare, cracks jokes here and there to cheer the protagonist up, declares that even his knight-order-club can't stop him from being with the Bhaal-spawn... Not saying that he's perfect, but there is certainly some positive developement.
And I liked his happy-end as well. Aerie's was a little to sweet, while Viconia did not get one. Jaheira's was pretty well done, too. All personal opinon, of course, and it has been a couple of years.

....Anders

I will make this clear, I deeply, truly, utterly despise that terrorist jackass, but the Anders rivalmance is such a glorious train wreck that it's my favorite DA2 romance. In the friendship romance Anders could be considered emotionally abusive but in the rivalmance Hawke is just as emotionally nasty to him as he is to her. They are so completely wrong for each other and they both know it but for some reason they can't help but want to be together and they don't know why, there's a real desperation in it and it is amazing.

Yeah... he's... alright. Even more so, in my opinion, if he failed his test.
Though he did propose to Cassandra in the middle of Abazigal's fight. Pretty epic.

On the subject of female Turians, I'm not at all fond of the comic version. It just looks off to me. I actually adore Yanarada's version off of DeviantArt. Here's the link to her page: http://yanarada.deviantart.com/

Now see, I LOVED the rivalmance with Fenris Posted Image but only when I paired him up with my humorous rouge,   the combination was just too damn funny!  I was going for an "opposites attract" romance since something had to counteract his constant brooding. He can't stand my hawke sometimes but he can't live without her either, in the end he finally managed to leave her speechless for the first time ever

Fenris: Promise me you won't die, I can't bear the thought of living without you
Hawke: I didn't quite catch that, could you speak up?
Fenris: *frown*...then let me make it clearer for you  *epic smooch*

Drama and conflict can be really fun in a romance (It was my favourite kind in DA2) but Garrus will always be my favourite because his romance (to me) was not only rare but it also felt the most realistic. Femshep and garrus manage to talk and act like a normal  loving couple despite all the danger and crazy that surrounds them everyday. They don't ADD more drama and problems to eachother's lives by being together, in fact they are able to relax and have a break from it all when they do.  It's just so nice to see a romance like that for a change.

*edit*

Your shepard did this too, don't deny it!
