I don't like MP in general, I feel uncomfortable booting a game with random people. So I play solo. I've never succeeded once so far. XD
Sounds familiar. When the "goddamned %&/(& ending" feelings got too much to bear, I thought some multiplayer matches were a good way to compensate. Simple idea: Just start a solo game and shoot / hack / warp / burn some robots or techno-zombies...
Interestingly enough, it is not necessary to win a match or even a wave to keep the experience. Was somehow surprised by that, though I can't really say why. Never made it past wave 5 or 6 with my low-level solo-engineer, though, and only once past wave 3. Stupid objectives.
Still, finally I decided to try a match with some random people out there. And I have to admit that it was not as bad as I thought. On bronze, nobody seems to communicate via microphone anyway, so it's nice and quiet without some idiot screaming around, and most guys play pretty decent, i.e. reviving if another goes down and co-operating on objectives. While I still don't like multiplayer, I am now trying to promote some characters to increase my war assets above 8.000. With the default 50% readiness, that should hopefully be enough for the "best" ending without ever having to touch multiplayer again... (Still hoping that BioWare's extended endings will work miracles, heal all broken hearts - and probably lead to peace between all countries around the world and cure cancer as well.)
Here's some dextro-levo chocolate for all those still or freshly upset about the current ending.
