I don't like MP in general, I feel uncomfortable booting a game with random people. So I play solo. I've never succeeded once so far. XD

Most of the people I've run into have been pretty cool. There was one guy who got super creepy when he figured out I was a girl, but his friend shut him down pretty quick. I've tried soloing with my vanguard, but I keep dying during those missions where you have to get to the 4 sites to upload something/turn something off/etc haha

No need to tell the others you're a girl, heck there's no need ot talk to them at all. The only time I talk is when I play with my friend.

Personally I prolly wouldn't even bother with MP if I weren't so gullible for "get credits, buy stuff".

I mean it's not like I was all HEY GUYS I'M A GIRL or something. Playing with my mic just helps on silver and gold because you can coordinate with your team better. But the people I've met on the Mass Effect MP tend to be pretty cool

No turians yet, but I settled for a human Vanguard.

Just letting you know both of the turians are silver (uncommon), so if you're interested in unlocking them quickly, go for the 20k packs instead of the 60k. You'll get three times as many chances as you would with the 60k ones and they'll still have a good chance of showing up since they're not rare like most of the other aliens.

I haven't had much trouble playing MP as a girl. I usually play on Gold. I really like it. It's different from your usual FPS because, well, it's a team effort and the powers are just plain fun! My Origin tag is the same: mireisen

Then again, I've been told that I sounded like a 10 year-old boy on MP, so...yeah. I do even while laughing. I chuckle more than giggle. It's so sad because I met my fiance from eHarmony and our first conversation on the phone went something like:

"I thought...from your picture you'd sound..."
"Yeah, I get that a lot. Not exactly sex hotline material, I know."
"So that's why you have no problems with online gaming?"
"Yuuuuup..." then I lowered my voice, "Just one of the guys."
"...don't ever do that again."

Eh, I don't know if I'm going to keep it up.  My free month on Gold is almost over and I don't know if I want to keep paying for it, especially since this is the first day I've even been able to log on.  The servers haven't let me in to play before.

Don't worry.  IF I use my mic, I usually get, "..so..uh...is this a girl or a kid?" :P

Also, that story is hilarious! :lol:

Lol, I remember when playing the demo someone asked me if I was girl, I said yes then he said "good, I thought you were some little kid or something."

Think most women-gamers take up a "tomboyish" tone with their manner of speech. It's why I connected with FemShep in a vain sort of way. Curious question though, were most of you female gamers tomboys growing up?

I had two older brothers who got me into gaming at a very early age. I was very tall for a kid. I played sports. Even had a soccer girl crush on me bad. I did wear boys' clothing for some time and I never got into makeup, dresses, and manicures until Homecoming or Prom. I think once I entered college I started experimenting more. My baby sister was girly at the start too (pinky frilly dresses, etc.) but once she hit puberty and saw Transformers it was over.

Apparently I have a sexy voice. I've been told that over Ventrilo while raiding for WoW, though thankfully no one's been creepy about it in MP. Then again, I barely make a peep in MP unless I'm telling people that I'm just starting to learn a new class.

@CrazyIvan: I am so excited for geth characters it's not even funny. It'll make me feel better for picking destroy :(

I was such a tomboy as a little kid; my two best friends were boys, and I practically grew up with them.  I stopped doing the sports as much as I got past puberty; we discovered I have very weak tendons in my hands and wrists.   But I've kept the attitude ^_^

I wouldn't call myself tomboyish but I'm not very girly either. I like books, video games, movies, and going out in malls with my best friend to check out comic books. I also love drawing and writing. I guess I'm quite nerdy. I hate sports apart from synchronized swimming, and that's because my mum kinda forced me to compete - I ended up loving it.

I like make up and dresses but only when I feel like feeling pretty, which is not that often. When I go out, I'd say. I got my first pedicure last Christmas, and it was a gift. It would never cross my mind to do that sort of things by myself.

I have two older brothers though, maybe that explains the lack of girliness.

It's tradition here in the US to get fancy pictures taken during your last year of high school.  I got mine done in China while visiting relatives, and found myself in an 8 hour photoshoot.  Dresses, professional makeup, photoshop, the whole thing.  I was pretty cranky by the end of it :P

I know and I'm jealous. :lol: The only thing we got is a lousy piece of paper saying "Congrats, you got your baccalauréat". Awesome. Ah, regardless, we like to celebrate eating terrific meals and drinking good wine among family and then go out in bars with friends. Good enough for me.

8 hours?? Ok, maybe I'm not that jealous after all.

Nope.  I filled two sinks with opaque icky water washing off all that makeup.  My aunt was not happy with the mess I made.  And for what, 30 pretty pictures?  I'm glad I did it, but I am never going through that again.  When I get married, I'll just elope ^_^

I was (and still am) some kind of mix between tomboy and nerd.

I enjoy being super nerdy and super girly. Sort of. I am super girly in a broke sort of way. I tend to favor makeup over designer clothes when it comes to dropping cash on myself. But I also love comics and the intertron. I don't think anyone should feel pressured to fit a certain 'type'. I know when I was younger I was always sort of intimidated to fit into either category, because one was cool in one group and one was cool in another.

Now that I am loladult[!], I am just some sort of skitzogirlcreation.

Topic on the MP DLC - Im kinda meh about it. Sure its cool. I'll probably spam the geth characters and the krogan. I can imagine all the batarian characters being like Batman on youtube shouting "My parents are dead!" or "You killed my family!" due to arrival XP
And I find 2 very ironic hilarious things bout the new dlc:
1- Krogan Vanguard? So krogan can now fly....but turians and krogan STILL cant do a simple dodge roll.....
2- Yay new guns......that no one will ever get due to getting random crap in packs.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On topic of MP in general - I actually love it. I just havent played in awhile. Usually I play with some friends, whether DA ppl or RL friends. I know some ppl here on BSN added me, but due to the fact many have differ usernames compared to their GT's - idk who's who XDDD Mine is completely the same LOL
Aint that the truth XD Especially if its a female kicking more ass than anyone else. Ive lost count how many times ive been in a room of guys only. One of my highlight moments was on silver againt reapers. Only me and some asari adept remaining on wave 8 or 9. [other 2 died] I was a krogan soldier. Poor lil asari was being gangbanged by 3 cannibals and 2 ravagers. On the cerberus map, the enemies were on the landing pad area, so I totally went around to flank them and I hear the guy on mic saying
Guy#1 "Where is that krogan going?"
Guy#2: ....Oh wait - he's going to flank them! Niiiiiccceee.
Guy#1: Yea smart krogan.
*throws every inferno grenade and charges remaining 3 enemies - destroying everything and ending the wave*
Every person on the match: DAAAAAAMMMMMMM Holy crap that was badass!!!! like 5 kills in one swoop on silver! That was awesome!
*turns on mic* Yea, thanks. It was simple.
HOLY **** ITS A FEMALE!
Silly, silly boys. Females can play krogan too Posted Image
Anyone else been reading the Retake live blog from PAX? Hard to make sense of it since I'm not a twitter person and there's only so much they can live blog, but it's certainly interesting.
