Yes, I believe depending on the variables (you brought her to Earth, have a high friendship with her), EDI can follow Joker out of the Normandy on Planet Plothole even if you pick Destroy.

It's just what I've been told. It could be wrong.

This may just be a bug, since with high EMS the squaddies you take to the Crucible push step out of the Normandy on that stupid crash planet.  Now I'm curious and want to test this.

Oh wait, that involves finishing the game.  *is conflicted between heartache and SCIENCE*

I figure in the Shep Breathes ending, since EDI can walk out of the Normandy, too, the geth are alive and kicking.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Wait, how does EDI walk out of the Normandy?  I got the ending with destroy where Shep survives, and she was nowhere to be found

AFAK she only walks out with the other two options. I've never seen her on my destroy playthroughs, and I always destroy. always.

I took the idea from quantum shielding. The relays have it and anything hittimg them from the outside aside from a giant asteroid woldn't harm them. That with with what we know that some geth platforms were taken over by the reapers. Nothing is ever 100% sure. You can send a pulse of rainbow color idiocy throughout the universe. But I dont think it will penetrate dozens of miles underground in the event some reaper tech was stored that deep. we've seen a few places like that.

But regarding husks, no. The rainbow bullcrap wiped out any reaper hardware it could touch. So anythign they took over based on their hardware is fried. Hence why I liked the idea of the geth with reaper code.

To be honest I missed not fighting more geth. ME1 they were all over. ME2 there were some. But in ME3 is only in their home system. Where are the geth that reapers took over? Or if you destroyed the heretics. Where are the heretics that weren't rewritting and are still around?

But... but... the geth are adorable! {smilie}

On an unrelated topic, hearing Garrus yell in Thessia that he was going to tear Kai Leng's head off was magnificent.

That and his military pep talk afterward was awesome.

The geth are adorable... For some reason I have this weird sense in my mind of Pets that became sentinent. But still want to serve with dignity... a little controversial I know, maybe contradictory. But when I saw that video of the geth begging not to be deactivated so he could keep serving... My god I hated Xen and gerrel even more.

"If this platform has done something wrong it will reprogram, it can still serve you master w/e"
{smilie}{smilie}{smilie}

But I digress. The geth I refer to remember the councilor said "we are still detecting geth with reaper codes in them, although is only a fraction of the geth".

We know ALL the true geth got reaper upgrades, but it was that an addition. The fact the councilor only detects a few with reaper code in them, leads me to beleive those aren't geth but simply geth bodies with reapers inside them, or being controlled by one.

IN any event if you didn't destroyed the heretics base it means tehre are still fringes of heretics out there helping the reapers. Where are they?

btw: What garrus pep talk are you talking about? ME2 witht he krogan scout?

"there is no pep talk like military pep talk?"
or do you mean the "friend pick so you up dusts you off...."

---------

As for the destroy ending for me it is the only one that makes sense.

Not to mention the quarians are partly synthetic. They had to in order to survive. Garrus mandible? "dr. chawkas fixed him up with some implants and cybernetics" What garrus dies too? he doesn't we know that already.

Kasumi? her... flexible acrobatics aren't normal.

I took the whole "you're partially synthetic too" thing to be the Catalyst (or Harby if you're into the indoctrination theory) trying to scare Shep out of picking the destroy ending.  Little POS spends the entire sequence lying through its holographic teeth, why should this be any different?

I’m currently working my way through the list on page 611 of this thread. So far I’ve found lots of well written fics, some packing real HEAT, like in the two below.

Thank you! Adding them to my "need to read" list. The site is mostly for my own benefit to keep track of all the FF I've read and wanna read, but if other people get any joy out of it all the better

When you start up your next Fanfic I just have to mention http://www.fanfictio...s_Fear_To_Tread  and it's follow up. They are fantastic. Shows a bit different Shepard/Garrus from the ones I am used to seeing in the Fanfics this far ;)

As much as I love the Geth I always pick the destroy ending as well, it’s the only ending that doesn’t have ‘yeah I can’t see how this could possibly go wrong...’ written in huge bright neon letters. However I’ve never been entirely convinced the Geth and EDI get killed. The starchild-abomination-thing says all synthetic life forms die and the term ‘synthetic’ in the Mass Effect universe has always been a little vague at best.

The definition of something being synthetic is where it is the combination of two or more parts, e.g Shepard and the Reapers, a combination of organic and non-organic parts. The Geth and EDI aren’t synthetic, they’re computer programs, Legion said it himself, Geth are software. EDI is just programming and her new body is simply a robotic shell. If anything the destroy ending should technically kill everything except EDI and the Geth, since most of the galactic community have cybernetic implants of some kind but we know that isn't the case since we see various characters with cybernetic implants very much alive, e.g Garrus, Joker etc.

I believe in the high EMS destroy ending where Shep lives, EDI and the Geth are still alive, however the Geth might be...simpler. I believe the shockwave/space magic deletes the reaper code and the Geth revert back to how they were before Legion upgraded them. I know that sounds a little bit non-sensical but it’s more logical than that bloody green ending.

that is what I figured. Until I realize the reaper code made the basis for the upgrades so as long as the reaper was the base control.

Once Legion sacrificed itself, it mixed its personality with the reaper code, making into a new one. Thus allowing each geth unit to be  a true sapient.

That was my reasoning for choosing the red ending... gota lie to myself with some logic. With the Asburd amount of bs godchild was spewing out. My left brain couldn't take it. Where was my option to slap the kid (sorry but he is a kid in form I can't honestly kill him I know a weakness but w/e). Wanted to slap the kid across the face.

or maybe give the gun to liara let him kill it. I can live iwth that.

Ok, just finished it again. EDI didn't appear in the Destroy ending. My EMS was 6643 and I was good friends with her.
If I could list the things I loathe about this ending...  but the worst part is probably Shep's little "I... don't know."

Of course you know, damn it. I've roleplayed you as a tough, passionate, downright crazy woman whose primary goal was to destroy the Reapers. So don't you go all doubtful and pathetic on me in front of the damn Starchild.

Sigh. This is what happens when you leave two people to write the ending instead of working with the entire writing team.

Edit: TOP, ok. Gotta say I love this image (and the scene that goes with it).
