I actually like the synthesis idea? I mean obviously I'm all for the IT and just pretending the endings didn't happen, but if I had to pick one of them it would be that one. Eris worked so hard to mentor EDI and broker peace for the Geth and the Quarians, so it feels like an ending that sacrifices synthetic life, even if it means she might survive, is contradictory to who she is as a proponent of equality and opportunity for all kinds of life. I'm also kind of a Kurzweil fan though, so that might have something to do with it haha.
Saren believed in Synthesis. He went for it. Look how it turned out.
TIM believed in control. But he realized, and star child told you, those who believe that can control is because the reapers are telling them they can. Not because is possible at all. This isn't the first rodeo at this galaxy. Prothean VI alluded to such. Even on their time people wanted to control the reapers. Turns out they thought they could because they were indoctrinated. Anyone who believes coexistence with the reapers is possible, a mesh of synthethic and organic through force rather than through natural evolution is because they were indoctrinated.
Even besides that Star child lied to you in many levels.
Quarians: They are known to have massive cybernetics to interact with their suits.
You are partly synthethic
My bro and your lover has massive cybernetics to keep his face looking like ****

. ALthough later it was his choice to keep it that way

.
EDI. wasn't based on reaper tech. HER cyberwarfare suite was based on reaper tech. Not anything else. She became sentient as part of SPOILERS!!!!!!!!

of an alliance screw up on the moon. ME1.
The Geth aren't reaper based only the code is.
Implying that anything "synthetic" would be destroyed is no different that destroying every computer in the galaxy, rendering the galaxy pre modern times. Which doesn't happen since apparently people still use weapons and the like.
I could go on. But the star child is lying simple as that.
