Well... he sounds flirty as hell to FemShep on his recruitment mission.  I know it's not a different recording than with maleShep... but... he purrs.

I like to think that he sounds awesome and makes girls swoon even when he's not flirting. :P

In all seriousness though, I think we can never all have the same view of Garrus, hence we all have our "own". That includes headcanoning when he falls for FemShep. I personally think he falls for her regardless if she romances him or not (Thane is more obvious about that though), but some people may disagree.

Well... that's a good question... I think that with my Kaidan girl, Avery... they talked and decided they were better off friends, especially considering the torch she was still carrying.  Rachel (the only Shepard I haven't written about yet) won't unclench enough to date anyone she considers a subordinate.  (Good thing Kaidan's a Spectre in 3 for her.)  Meghan (the Garrus Girl) and Moira (the one I'm using to write Loved -- I wrote about a Warden named Moira so I had to change her name), are the Garrus girls and I think he and Meghan started their dance in 1 (Persephone Rising), but for Moira it was a slow and gradual build.  I like that it could be taken in several different ways.  Some more plausible than others, yes.

I have one Garrus girl and that's Lexane (I can't bring myself to create several Sheps for one LI for some reason... they all have their very own Shepard!), and since she was pretty much a b*tch to everyone in ME1, I simply can't see him falling for her back then (unless he's a masochist or... likes being yelled at. Who knows.). I picture them becoming friends at the very end of ME1 and between ME1 and 2 (apparently he stayed on the Normandy before she was destroyed) since she warms up to her crew (especially him and Tali).

So in my head, they fall for each other in ME2 but decide to not act on their feelings because... suicide mission, interspecies stuff, and "he/she won't ever see me that way anyway" (and yep, that's very cheesy). Until she gets drunk and proposes him.

Ah. I have absolutely no issues replaying the exact same Shepard repeatedly. Drives my husband bananas. I've actually replayed Avery/Meghan/Moira about a half dozen times. Rachel's a newcomer.

But then, I'll reread favorite books till they're falling apart at the binding, so...

Absolutely not!

(Rachel was actually supposed to be for Joker, but we all know how that turned out.)

I just play different iterations of my Shepards to see how the differences play out, especially in the romances.  Hence the one "cheating" Shepard.

Same here. Although I'm pretty sure I won't save Ashley from now on in any of my playthroughs since I was so disappointed in her character in ME3 (and it sucks, I really liked her).

Which makes Lexane a "cheater", but I don't really care, I guess I won't have Kaidan on the Normandy next time. That, or I'll kill him off. Tragedy can be fun.

I always figured that Garrus was pretty clueless about that stuff, lol. Shepard does have to get pretty direct with him in order to initate the romance.

Oh you just gave me a great RP idea! If I ever play my FemShep through ME2 again, I'm going to have her get drunk in the Normandy lounge before propositioning Garrus.

Oh I agree, he was clueless, but that scene bugged me a little, so it got me thinking. I figured that yeah, he probably never thought Shepard would ever show interest in him, hence his initial shocked reaction, but his promptness to agree to "skip to the tiebreaker" indicates (again, IMO) that he has had feelings for her. Maybe not strong ones at this point, but at least some.

Playing ME2 again is really fun, even with ME3 in mind.
And getting her drunk was the only way I could possibly imagine Lexane ever going through with this. She likes to yell at people, but she's terrible when it comes to flirting.

Well... like I've always said... you'd better be damned obvious when you're propositioning your best friend.

Oh definitely, but it didn't work in my roleplay. I didn't RP Shep "brave" enough (when it comes to personal relationships, not saving the galaxy, obviously) to actually be able to decide to act on her feelings and propositioning him in hope for a positive response. Alcohol had to be involved.

Her usual solutions when it comes to feelings is to bury them and hoping they might go away.

Hehe, sounds like Meghan.  I still haven't figured out how I'm going to get her to broach the question.  It can't be liquid courage because she's an alcoholic.  It takes an iron will to limit herself to two drinks and she cannot get drunk.  It would be BAD for her to fall back into a bottle at this stage.

Perhaps she went to see Garrus after drinking with Chakwas...

Yeah, I like Meghan a lot since I recognize a lot of Lexie in her.  By any chance, do you know approximately when you should post a new chapter of Loved?

Not sure.  It's Samara's recruitment and I'm taking liberties.  :?

BUT... I've got a half-dozen original projects I'm working on, too.  Loved, though important, must take a back seat to those.

I wanted to do the same (main pure-paragon Shepard for Garrus, mostly-paragon Shepard for Kaidan, somewhat-renegade Shepard for the most interesting male LI in ME3). After Horizon, I had two Garrus girls, and after ME3 and a short replay of the end of ME2, I suddenly had three of them. Since it felt majorly weird, I corrected their facial structures and pretended that Shadow, Seleya and Revan are all incarnations of the same person who happen to have slightly different backstories and different hair colours.

By the way, is there any complete list of Garrus-related quotes out there? I know that there are some on the Mass Effect Wiki, but I don't think that it lists all of them. It took me three playthroughs to hear Garrus' Phantom-related quote on the Cerberus Base (something along the line "Cerberus. Bringing a knife to a gunfight"), and I wonder what other gems I have missed so far.

This also explains why Garrus brought wine later.

There can be a verbal duel between Ashley and Tali if you romance them both.
www.youtube.com/watch

However, I'm curious if such a thing can happen between Kaidan and Garrus over femshepard during the game.  Video link if you have it.  Thanks.

Nah, no confrontation. Just a convo with Kaidan when he asks you if there's something between you and Garrus. And on Kaidan's "date" scene at the restaurant, he mentions the fact that FemShep "cheated" if you haven't locked the romance with Garrus yet.

Thats a little disappointing.  You can have two women bumping heads over male Shepard but not two guys over female Shepard, especially someone as cool as Garrus.  I wanted to see that.  Posted Image

Thanks anyways.  Posted Image

It's out of character for both Kaidan and Garrus to go all macho possessive.  I might have seen Jacob pull that... but well, we know how that turns out.

I think it could be done in-character. They both care a lot about Shepard. Heck, they had him mention babies in-character and I didn't even think that was possible. :P

I don't see how, personally. They both respect Shep's choices when it comes to her love life. They both handle being rejected like pros. I have a hard time picturing them getting all possessive over her, as Sia said. I don't think they'd feel it'd be respecting Shep to behave like that.

Maybe with some low key sniping at each other? Like how Vega and Garrus try to one up each other, just with a smidgen more intensity?

It's probably OOC for them, but it might have been something to see.

Speaking of which, I'm glad I figured out how to avoid Kaidan's romance choice at the cafe. Now I can save my Garrus date for last before I leave the Citadel. I'm soo bad with turning people down (except for Liara and Allers). Who knew not buying him the whiskey was a deal maker?

But neither one of them is ****y or petty. And Garrus, no matter his romance status, mentions being glad Kaidan's on board, IIRC.

I know this was from a few hours ago but I feel the need to put in my two cents. I don't think Garrus even considered any type of romantic relationship with Shepard until she err... brings it up (to put it lightly). Garrus has always been impulsive and somewhat rash, and while he did mature from ME1 he's still impulsive, he said yes right away because it was his gut reaction, because it's Shepard. Afterwards he has doubts, because before he said agreed without really thinking about it, but at that point he's thinking about it and all the things that could go wrong.

Unfortunately for me this perspective of mine makes me unable to read quite a few fanfics out there because I view any fanfic where Garrus has had romantic feelings for Shepard since ME1 (I don't mind the development of feelings during ME2 as I can understand why people wouldn't like how the romance is initiated in ME2) as very ooc. I didn't get very far in Violence, Voyeurism and vigilantes because the part were Garrus yells at Kaidan for not protecting Shepard fills me with massive amounts of rage. Shepard isn't the the protected she's the protector, and now I've gone off track so I'll shut up. *remembers a fanfic where Garrus got upset about not being brought on missions because it meant he couldn't "protect" her and tries not to break computer*
