So yeah, I've been trawling FF.net for Brokarian and if you're looking for quality, basically the gentleman above is it. He really is the only recommendation I have, and fortunately, he's really good. Keen eye for characterisation and motivations too. Just read everything he's written. Seriously. I spent yesterday evening stuffing my brain with the entirety of For Tomorrow We Die. The evening before that? All the other stuff he'd written. Tonight? I'm wishing he'd
written more so I could read it. But alas, there is none, so I am not. But still. Thank you ElectricZ.
I don't suppose someone is coveting a list of shiny Brokarian fic somewhere?
Thanks kindly! I believe that's the first time I've ever received the Citizen Kane Clap! I'm honored, and glad you enjoyed them. There is an awful lot of fluff out there which is obviously fufilling a need, but personally I like most of the characters and think they all have interesting stories that can be told. It's just a case of different strokes for different folks. I don't know if a repository for non-romance related stories would make it though.

Thanks for the recommendations on the fanfics people, I got plenty to read now 8D
Also, ElectricZ - did you write A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Annihilation? I hope I'm not wrong, but I loved that fic C:
Yep, that was mine. Immedately after I finished ME3 - I mean that night - I cranked out a fic called Control, Destruction, Synthesis, Salvation to try and handwave away what I had seen happen to my favorite sci fi universe. It was basically an "it was a dream" style ending where the crucible worked, the catalyst never happened, and Shepard wakes up on the Normandy with Garrus, Tali, Liara, Vega and the rest of the gang anxiously awaiting the Commander's exit from the head after waking up suddenly in sickbay. It was a one-shot, light on substance, but I needed to do something to wash the bad taste from my mouth.
But the more I thought about it, the more bitter I got about how it all came to a close, so out came A Funny Thing... I figured if crying over the ending wouldn't work, maybe laughing at it would. What was sad is that in my first attempt to cope with the ending I was still trying to make peace with the canon ending and not dispairage it too much. That lasted a couple days before I just decided to accept that I hated it. As someone else pointed out, seeing Joker say "F this, I'm outta here" along with other squaddies who would never leave Shepard to die with no explanation (especially not the likes of Garrus and Tali) broke the game for me.
Take Garrus for example... Can you imagine that after the conversation he and Shepard had before the end run in London that he'd do anything other than search for the Commander if he was still alive? The emotional attachment Shepard had with the crew conveyed by the writing up to that point was phenomenal... and whoever greenlit the ending traded it in for The Lost World and Grandpa Stargazer. What a great deal....

[stuff made of lame ME3 ending wretchedness]
Amen. That sums it up so nicely that even Bioware should be able to get it...

You can.
A while ago I asked the artist if she had a still version for me to use for my desktop's background.

Scroll down the page until you see a comment by Jayla-Warden (that's me), and the reponse to it has a link with the still version.

The whole Normandy crew scene didn't bother me in terms of being OOC so much as it bothered me in failing basic SENSE. Cortez's shuttle got shut down. Normandy's out in that crazy Reaper dogfight above Earth. The two team members you take with you are right behind you before Harbinger shoots; the rest are back in the staging area. How the bloody HELL do they all get beamed up to the Normandy in a matter of minutes?

Yep, that too. It adds even more salt to the wound. The lack of sense in that scene basically screams to me that it was solely created to add drama... for the sake of adding drama.Sable Rhapsody wrote...

Because it's art.
I find that particularly infuriating.
