Seconded. My boyfriend and I refer to it as the double black diamond dipsmooch. I'm the skiier, he's the movie buff. And oh man, read that book if you get the chance. As good as the movie is, the book's better.

I'm a proud xenoprude with occasional bits of xenoperviness. I mean, smut is fun. Although I like leaving some details to the imagination much better.

That book made what would've been a hellish travel nightmare into a giggly, hilarious reading session.

I've been pondering something that requires the unique mindset of you lovely people: What would female turians wear? I don't mean a practical armor perspective, but rather a "going out and trying to look good" type of clothing. Being a fashion-inept human male, I'm more than a little out of my comfort zone here. My wife was of some help, but I think people who actually play Mass Effect will be of greater use. Anyway here's what I've come up with:

Garrus mentions specifically the fringe and waist areas. So I figure turian fashion would try and emphasizes these areas. The fringe I tried to keep simple; rings, a flower (I drew mint leaves, don't know why) or a cowl like Saren's concept art.

For the waist I generally went with something tight or notable (belts, etc.) to make it look thinner and draw the eyes there. The purpose of heels on humans is to make you look taller and thinner by proxy, but it seems really unnecessary given how turian feet are. The footwear is mostly open toe (hello talons) boots or sandal type things. Giving everything a future-y kinda look I guess?

I'm really out of my league here and would love any and all thoughts on the matter.

I really like your first and second designs.  If the "casual" clothing for male turians is any indication, they aren't big on accessories, more on using color and clothing cut to emphasize their natural shapes.  And I do like the idea of open-toed shoes.

Nice work, OccamSansRazor! :D Way better than anything those comic versions were wearing.

Personally, I think female turian fashion would be very minimalist and less 'feminine' as we know it. I believe it was said -- though it's been so long I can't remember where -- that turian women and men are treated like equals in turian society, so I feel like the value we humans put on feminine beauty wouldn't be as pronounced in turian society. Also, fashion is often inspired by art and other cultural design elements, and from what we've seen of their ships and the sculpture in Kasumi's mission, they certainly love minimalism. I also think they wouldn't wear outfits that show skin the way asari and human women do, since I think it was said that they prefer to be covered and are rarely seen exposed?

screaming and yelling from the girl. You know the type I'm talking about
if you've seen it. I've always thought "If she's coherent enough to
yell and scream in full sentences like that, try harder." Ehehehe. *cough*

Welcome. I have beer.

That, and the fact that people who disagree with you never put you down. It's a nice change from what usually happens on forums.

Its one thing to tell someone their opinion is wrong/silly/stupid, its another to say "you have no choice but to like this p0rn if you are a Garrus fan", and thats just plain wrong.

Everyone has their limits. Mine are just further than most

An excellent point, I neglected the minimalism and the meritocracy. I suppose as a society the focus would be less on appearance and more on ability. Fashion would probably be more practical and military inspired. Pockets, personal sigil or rank on clothing. Hmmm endless pondering...
