Yeah, those were the days. Clan Vakarian was rather busy too. But it was nothing compared to the Tlai thread, it was plain impossible to keep up with that. I guess the dextro bros have that special something.kglaser wrote...

Wow, indeed.
If this person insisted on "artistic integrity" to justify the final product, I would certainly not protest. Wonderful picture.
On blushing: No idea what turians do if they are embarrassed, but with their plating, I don't think blushing is an option. The romance-lines regarding blushing seem ironic / teasing to me as well.
Language fun (1): The German version is definitely pure irony. "Blushing" translates as "getting red", and that would be quite a task for a blue-blooded (in the literal sense) person.
Language fun (2): Being "blue-blooded" seems to be the same valid phrase in English and German. Didn't realize it until now.
Language fun (3): Garrus' hanar-poetry comment "This One feels like a flower". I still believe it is "feels like" in the metaphorical sense, perhaps "delicate" or whatever, but the German subtitles insist it's the literal sense, like "Arrrgh, damn, a thorn, now my finger hurts". Mistake on my part, or strange translation?

Same in French. Immediately after that line I imagined Garrus saying "Do you want me to get blue?" instead of "red" and started giggling. Too bad they didn't go with it. I guess it would have confused some people.

That makes sense. Being fans of Mass Effect, we know that "This One" is essentially used as a first person pronoun when Hanar are speaking about themselves. But if you don't know that little tidbit (which I'm guessing the translator didn't), then reading that sentence, you would assume that you were refering to someone in the third person as "This One". In which case, I can see them using the tactile meaning for "feels" as it makes less sense to dictate to someone else how they feel emotionally.

Very good point. Thanks for the explanation - usually the German translation is fine, and "obvious" mistakes like this tend to annoy me. But as you said, in this context the meaning is not obvious for the translator.Janus Prospero wrote...

Another question that has probably been discussed before, but still makes me wonder: Does Garrus take his visor off when he sleeps?

He probably keeps it on in bed since the heart rate and temperature monitor works as a cheat sheet. ;P My Shepard would make him take it off whenever she could manage just because it blocks too much of his pretty face. xD

BTW heys KG! Long time no see eh?
Derp - i havent read that one. And Ive read hundreads of FF. Lately the one Im reading is Sense & Flexibility. Its SO GOOD! @-@ And its not smutty. Heck, theres been no smut or kinkiness AT ALL. It just spans the 3 games telling the story of Shep & Garrus. ME1 is done and the story is currently just pasted Tali's LM [with just Jack's LM left to go]. Garrus and Shep still arent even together, but theres alot of fluff moments. I highly recommned it.kglaser wrote...

Out of all the fanfictions I've read, I really like the way turian sexual behavior is described in Worst Case Scenario, where they are very attentitive to their partner's needs. It's just great juxtaposition with Saren, who is fairly self serving in every other regard.

I occasionally get nostalgic for the crazy run-up to ME2, when we were fairly sure Garrus was a squaddie but hadn't heard a peep on romance status. So many emotional ups and downs while we tore apart and overanalyzed every word from the devs.

Though I would have had a hard time imagining Garrus as "romance material" if my only source had been the original game. Both Tali and Garrus have matured so much - in Mass Effect, both seemed somehow too young to me, physically (Tali) and emotionally (both).
Since there are some Diablo-fans around: Is it true that Leah's voice should be quite familiar? If so - is it another VA in the trailers, or is the actress just that good? Wouldn't have recognized the voice, though I haven't played the game, perhaps she's easier to identify there.
@ArcanaLegacy: Just visit the author's blog and you should be able to get the next update of Sense and Flexibility on sunday. Just in case the withdrawal gets unbearable

Let me be clear: This is NOT a protest. There are many venues through which a player can protest the endings of ME3 or anything of that nature. And while most of us on HTL are hoping to have fixed endings for the game and have come together for gamer advocacy, this particular project is seperate from those goals. We're doing this in the spirit of celebration, that's all. Letters contributed can certainly gush about Garrus and even request things we'd love to see in future content, but we ask that concerns specifically regarding any ongoing contention about the endings/PR/bugs/whatever be omitted. BW brought us some of the best LIs in any games out there and we'd like to show our support and appreciation: They deserve it.
Okay, so that out of the way!
The main page for the project: SAVOR ME!
A group on BSN started by the lovely miss_kimpossible: POP ME!
And if you get the references to 'savor' and 'pop', you get a cookie.
Thanks for your time! ♥

DITTO this. That story has become one of my fav fanfics, which is strange considering I'm not usually down for that kinda action. Just goes to show how well written words and sexy turian lovin' gets me EVERY time.

It's Jennifer Hale who voices Leah, in both the trailers and in the game. Leah doesn't sound at all like FemShep, but I recognized her because the voice she uses for Leah is similar to the one for Bastila Shan in KOTOR.
There are a couple of other VA tidbits in Diablo III; Gideon Emery (DAII's Fenris) turns up a few times, and Grey Delisle (Velanna from DA:A and Azula from Avatar) voices the female wizard.

Thanks for the confirmation regarding Hale / Leah. The info regarding Bastila is even more interesting to me - I only played the German versions of KoTOR and Baldur's Gate II, and Bastila and Imoen share the same voice actress who really hits the "little sister" type in both roles. Given that I imagined "FemShep" when I read Hale / Bastila, I used to wonder who on Earth was responsible for picking Shan's voice. But if she sounds like Leah, it's a reasonable choice.
Grey Delisle should also voice a certain Drow Cleric. When Velanna sounds like Viconia from the original Baldur's Gate, I should probably try to reinstall DA:A. Somehow choosing English messed up the game for me, though it worked well in DA:O.
