Also, the jist of the conversation is what I imagine, not the data imparted.

I'm sure you can kick them hard enough down there to cause some pain, but it is most likely not very effective. Plus you'd need some damn awesome steel toed boots, and the turian needs to be wearing civvies.

Uuhh... Where in the game does this happen? Because I haven't come across anything like this. The only times I can think of when Shep ever had a canon one-on-one brawl with a turian is in ME2 with the sleazy dude..Meln, I think?
That's off screen. And she tosses him at the end of it. No nut crunching going on.

Oh gosh. It'd probably hurt the attacker more than the victim. Punching a human in the face is painful, I can't imagine how much smacking hard carapace anywhere would hurt.

By the way, if the nick on ff.net is not just a big coincidence: I really liked your description in 'Paradise'. Would have liked to have an epilogue like that in the original saga![]()
Hehe, yep, that's me. Was my way of dealing with the endings lol, I'm glad you liked it!
And as for Joker, I think he'd help Garrus genuinely, but wouldn't be above sending him some questionable things from time to time to mess with his head. The chance to embarrass Garrus would be too good to pass up, I'm sure.

On Samara's loyalty mission there are two turians talking about mugging
people, talking to them and going the renegade route ends with Shep fighting both of them.

Yeah, I can see how writing a thing like that may help
Well, that or make one even more depressed or angry at the actual stuff Bioware claims is art.
Liked the other two stories in general, too. Problem with the gift-giving one was that after the rose-related comparison, instinct took over and made me hide behind the next blanket, so I can't comment on the conclusion
And about the other piece: In my opinion you did a good job finding the balance between hurt / depression and comfort / trust / love later. I just have problems imagining a FemShep who romances Liara first, then Garrus. I can see FemShep with Liara, and I can obviously see FemShep with Garrus, played it myself after all, but the combination is something that doesn't fit with my interpretation of the characters. Liara in ME and Garrus in ME2 are very different, and I tend to imagine Shepards who romance characters somehow "fitting" to their other half. What I can see, for example, is a transition from Kaidan to Garrus, or from Ash to Tali or similar, but Liara -> Garrus just feels strange to me. Not criticism on your work, just a comment on how the perception of all players are obviously different.
Edit: What scene is that Tali / Turian screenshot based on?

Oh yeah those two! I'm fairly certain Shepard hits/knees them in the abdomen though. Not low enough for crotch punch.
And the abdomen seems like a spot that would indeed translate well over the species bounderies in a 'ow' spot. Especially with how tiny waists turians have. Probably less protected.

I appreciate it actually! I live off of reviews and constructive crit
As for the transition from Liara to Garrus, it's crazy how you mention that because I have something half drafted exploring that concept, set during LotSB lol. It is a bizarre transition, I agree. All my previous Sheps had been Kaidan + Garrus gals, but this one in particular had a change of heart behind it.
But yeah, it's all dependent on what you do with the Shep at hand. It never ceases to surprise me how one Shep can be so drastically different from another, even if it's the same person playing them.

Yes, I got the impression that "Good to Me" somehow showed 'another' Shepard. Or, as you said, a different dynamic. Didn't bother me, though, I took it as a light-hearted, funny-sweet one-shot with way too explicite parts at the end for me to finish it. But that's just me getting uncomfortable at certain words alone.
And my point was that I can't see that "bizarre transition" without a really good reason, so I suppose our opinions aren't that different. So if you finish that story, I'll give it a try

Probably because he's the only human male guaranteed to be there. Plus they're apparently bros by ME3 (which makes me so happy).DiabolicReality wrote...
I dunno about you, but I sort of had a 'oh noooooo' moment when I heard that Joker was the one, ah, handing out educational material to Garrus.
Not because that's embarrassing. Or because I feel sorry for Joker having landed himself such an awkward job, considering he knows exactly who Garrus is dating.
But because I worry he might pass along some vid that really really isn't something that human women normally enjoy or etc, just for pure trolling purposes.
Joker, if you haven't yet broken every bone in your body, you will if you ever decide to prank Shepard like that. And all at the same time.
But he seems like he's been a decent guy about it so far. Not that I really get why Garrus would ask him in specific
I thought it was hilarious that it was Joker. I don't really see him doing that to Shepard, he knows better than to get on her bad side.
Besides, in spite of his jokes in ME2 he's never seemed like the kind of person to do that. I mentioned in another thread that I was glad Joker seemed to return to his ME1 self a bit. People (including the writers during ME2) tend to forget that the name 'Joker' was actually an ironic one for him being serious and dour. I liked that in ME3 he got some of that seriousness back, it makes him feel more multifaceted and less like the cartoony comic relief. /ot
At first I figured Joker would just give Garrus porn, but considering that Garrus seemed to get inspiration for the adorable and completely romantic Citadel date from Joker's vids, it seems like he did right by Garrus and took the time to find something appropriate. Joker has a hidden sweet side, obviously.

Now I have this absolutely hilariously awkward mental image of Joker + Garrus epic bro movie night.

That would be hilarious for the commentary alone. Of course, Garrus would spend the whole night learning about 'human relationships' and then would have to unlearn whenever Joker goes, "Oh, that stuff doesn't really happen, it's just for the movie."DiabolicReality wrote...

Definitely agree. Would have been awesome if certain dialogue changed depending on your standing with the characters. For my Liara-dumping Garrus-romancing Shep, that conversation made absolutely no sense.

That particular piece didn't really upset me, since Garrus does not ask for her comfort, but tells her politely that he doesn't want to talk. Shepard can ask about his family for at least three, probably four times, and try to comfort him, including half-hugs and everything, which was enough for me.EnvyTB075 wrote...

I took the Liara-Garrus conversation as further evidence that Liara is still very young, contrary to her Shadow Broker image still quite easy to shock, and that she was strongly affected by the sight of the burning planets (Palaven as well as Earth). Her breakdown after Thessia fits as well. Garrus on the other hand is (relatively spoken) older, more experienced and comes from another culture. Turians expect casualties, aren't easily intimidated and fight to the last soul. Asari are, generally spoken, somewhat different.
In short: I think both Liara and Garrus were completely in character, and Shepard as well. There are other dialogues where Shepard's options felt out of character for me, these were the ones I was upset about.
Edit: And the conversation between Joker and Garrus regarding movies from above is great

Eh, I guess i'm just being antagonistic towards everything in ME3 at the moment, replaying ME2 again has just made the differences clearer that its hard to believe ME3 being a ME game at all...
Still, that was ripe romance material, and they squandered it...each LI should have appeared in Sheps cabin from time to time barring the Cerberus assault night...so much potential....

And then they have the Femshep statue coming up. That'll at least be 60-80 bucks. I definitely want to support Femshep items, even if this one may be ridiculous.
I'll probably end up getting both, but still, bummed. Maybe I'll buy another Garrus action figure and repaint it to see if it makes me feel better.
