Okay, great, but the fact remains that when the Mako is gone, Garrus spends all his time calibrating!
Although I headcanon that after the Suicide Mission Shep gave a shore leave to everyone on the Normandy before dragging Garrus out of his precious main battery so he could spend his free time with her.

I still want the Mako back. Exploring planets, while being repetitive, gave me an incredible feeling.

Shepard salvaged the Mako (note that it was of course completely unharmed at the first Normandys crash site), told Garrus that it needed calibrating, locked the doors after him and drove off for a vacation on a unnuked part of Virmire.

Exploring new places with that little tank was great fun. A few annoying cases of terrain perhaps but that wasnt the Makos fault. With Tali and Garrus along it was almost unstoppable.

I feel like this is of interest to Mako lovers. SFW kinkmeme fill featuring broShep and Garrus and our beloved Mako, along with a nice helping of badassery

Has anyone come across this fill on the kinkmeme? Curious Turians.

It's a very short, "small moments" type of fill prompted by the idea that turians are curious about humans and Garrus is around to be asked. As potentially funny as that might sound, I found the idea behind the fill was very well executed and neatly written. The captured moment is actually quite touching as well, so if you haven't come across it yet, go take a gander. The punches in this one might be pulled enough for our resident xenoprudes to have a go at it, but do proceed with caution.

Toodles!

I have to say, that fill is quite awesome.

I'm glad you enjoyed it too! I discovered it yesterday and between then and now I know I've reread it on average a couple of times per day. It helps that it's a short fill, but it readily evokes a sense of longing and wonder in a moment of the darkest part of the ME timeline. I will admit to feeling vaguely gratified that Garrus paints such an admiring picture of humans. Ha. (Also, Victus gets all the best lines in that fill. Whenever he says something I have to stifle the urge to squeal with glee.)

YES. Someone understands. Whenever I go back and play ME1 I land of every single planet I can land on even if I've finished all the gathering quests and if there's a night sky going on I just pan the camera up and look at that alien sky and think about how amazing it would be if we could do this sh** for real and stand on the surfaces of other star systems' planets and look up at stars and moons that are not ours. If the Mako is the closest we could get to that why would they ever take it away goddamn. /end frustration

Also, driving it like crap and banging it up in the process means that said "driving" keeps Garrus employed in tasks that are don't include being a scag to Tali or encouraging Wrex to feed Garrus his own fringe. Joy.

Exactly! You really felt like it was a sci-fi game, that you were exploring space. I also miss the Blade Runner style soundtrack. Plus imagining my squadmates telling Shep things like "Watch it! WATCH IT!" was pretty funny.

Loved the fill too. I'll never hear Victus's "Garrus speaks highly of you" the same way again.

Exactly. Great fill.

On a side note: Baldur's Gate had another big advantage - no need for the "oh no, I can't get rid of person XYZ" threads (doesn't matter if EDI, Liara, Vega...), each discussion could be stopped by saying "Just look for the next basilisk or simply play sorcerer and petrify the guy yourself". That and a little fireball and / or blow with your favourite weapon --> problem solved, permanently.

Exactly! Nobody was vital to the plot but you still enjoyed having them around regardless (and banter was usually priceless). And you could kill off anyone who pissed you off too much. :3

I miss these days... but to be fair the female Bhaalspawn only got Anomen as an official romance option. There was improvement on that part with newer games. No need to give an example.

This was fun, the implied looks on their faces when he described us humins being able to survive on body fat was worth the price of admission.

Wish there was more though, like that squad looking at Shep in nothing short of absolute awe when she arrives.

LOL, I do have to wonder if Garrus bringing wine at the O4 scene wasn't because someone at BW found out about Garrus wine.

Tell me that wine picture is a joke, please...

Nevermind, looked it up myself. Still find it hard to believe, though. Any Tali wine out there, to be sold in full-wrapped bottles only, or a Liara wine, based on blueberries?

Edit: ToP. Last of my personal "what has my Shepard done off-screen / what is my Shepard going to do after the real ME3 ending" screenshot collection. Suppose both have drunk some of the Garrus wine, to stay on topic ;)
