Nah, it existed before Mass Effect was out. It's the name of a vintage at the Château d'Esclans in Provence, apparently. And apparently it's supposed to be the most expensive rosé in the world. I'll have to try it.
I'd beg you to send me some, but the shipping would probably cost as much as just buying it here would.

Most likely. I can tell you if it's worth buying, though.Sialater wrote...

LOL, I don't think I'd ever spend $95 on wine, but it might be nice to know if it's not terrible.

So...Liara doesn't care you cheated on her with Garrus? I heard she was kinda mean with Tali but so far she has treated Garrus well.
I wonder if that has anything to do with the "catfight" fantasy that Holywood seems to think all guys have?

"Yes, you came back! And now Garrus doing a lot more than calibrating tne Normandy guns!"
That line from Liara in LotSB was priceless.
In ME3 after that Citadel date with Garrus Liara was so angry too...

Garrus, on the other hand, doesn't react in any way if you cheat on him. He moves on with Tali right away actually. XD

Something like:
- So, you're with Garrus now?
- Liara...
- I don't have time for your games!
And she didn't speak to me till the end of the game when I came to check on her.
I hate the idea of him being with Tali. I'm so jealous when she speaks to him in that flirty tone of hers. Always imagine her trying to snatch him after the Normandy crashed at the end.
Out of the airlock, NOW!

The conversation goes something like this:
Liara: "I heard you rekindled your relationship with Garrus."
Shepard: "Liara..."
Liara: "Be with whoever you want to be with, I'm just don't want to play games anymore."
Don't remember what she says after when you keep clicking on her.
Edit: Oops, was too slow =P

I always figured they were going to be together if neither were taken by Shepard. The whole elevator thing in ME2, being the only dextros on the Normandy...Fleet and Flotila. I'm like "meh" but I seriously grinned at their easter egg thing. So I suppose I approve. Just as long as the Mass Effect movie doesn't pair them up...but I'm sure they would given how much more they've already upset the fanbase.
Anyhoo...I think it's more common for turians and quarians to get it on than turians and humans. I have not seen one turian-human couple in the whole series (other than Shakarian). Am I wrong here?
If there were turian/human couples who'd you think would be most receptive to it? Obviously there's Dr. Michel who's been crushing on Garrus. Then for some odd reason I imagine Dr. Chakwas being one; I mean...the "friend" she had on the Citadel in ME3 and she seemed to know enough about turian physiology to fix Garrus up. Not saying these things would equal her being a turian kind of woman but I think it'd be interesting since she's old enough to have bene involved with the First Contact War.

You may not be wrong but I like to think Preitor Gavorn has something going with that human fellow who walks into the bedroom where Gavorn is sitting on the bed in the Shadow Broker vids. Gavorn you sly stud you.

Anyway, thanks guys.

Being dextro is a terrible reason for a romance. If you like them together then that's fine, but I cringe every time someone goes, "They're both dextro!" ... Er, so? They're still completely different species. And just because I can eat the same things as every other human doesn't mean I would date every other human.mireisen wrote...

As for being common, I kind of doubt it. I got the feeling that quarians were very insular and given their health issues, aren't likely to date outside their species. We've only ever seen one turian/quarian semi-couple, and that's the friend-zoned turian and his quarian friend who isn't even interested in him. She is however dating a human. There's the 'Fleet and Flotilla' movie too, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's common.
We basically don't see any cross-species relationships in the game that don't involve asari. There's the mention of Fleet & Flotilla being about quarian/turian relationships, the quarian girl and her human boyfriend, Gavorn and his human lover and Dr. Michel's one-sided crush on Garrus. I'm not surprised that three out of four involve turians.

What are the conditions for that dialogue? Confirming interest in both, then talking to Liara on the Presidium? Or having Garrus locked in already?
Still don't like the whole scenario, though. Moving on from X to Y? Sure, played it myself once. But "blowing off steam" with one char, while planning to come back to another, or actually telling two characters that Shepard's interested... Eh, no. With a galaxy burning and with the need to fully rely on allies and friends, why would Shepard willingly hurt somebody she trusts or prepare the ground for additional conflicts and drama? I know that others see it differently, but for me, it just doesn't work.
@Catfights: I'd rather say it's a question of character. I've always perceived Liara as very young, so her showing a bit of high-school drama is no surprise. For Garrus, on the other hand, I just can't see it. Insert the usual [calm / trust / respect / mature / ...] here
And regarding Gavorn: Also thought there, ahem, was something between those two ^^
Wondered about the two smugglers in Purgatory, though. Probably nothing more than a work-based relationship, but the human was so upset during the dialogue that I am not sure if it was 'just' the situation on Earth that got to her, or if it was based on a more personal level.
Edit: I'd guess there are some possible couples at the memorial wall, too. Not all of them, but even if the pairs shown there are 'just' friends, it's still impressive and a good idea. Personal opinion only, as usual.

And I think that if Garrus is not Shepard's LI and Doctor Michel is on board the Normandy, there should have been at least one instance where we actually see them talking to one another on the ship - it doesn't necessarily have to be romance-related or anything, at least not on Garrus' side. It was a missed opportunity and I thought that it would be a unique scene with Michel if we take her on the Normandy instead of Chakwas. Them getting together makes more sense than Garrus and Tali because there's this build-up I was talking about.

Quarian and human physiology are very much alike, so I don't think there is much difference in having relationship for the turian except of being dextro or levo. Salarians and krogans, for example, are levo and I don't think it leads some way more than "they just have the same amino-acids".
So if it's normal for a turian to fall for quarian, it should be pretty normal for him to have a human lover too. And I didn't notice anyone was shocked to know that Shepard and Garrus are together (everyone on the Normandy knew, even Kaiden knew somehow, and they kissed in front of the bunch of other turians too), so it's not really unusual.

Sure, but given Garrus's attitude in ME2 regarding the romance, I'm not certain human/turian relationships are that common... yet. Maybe because the First Contact war is still too fresh for both species?
Possible, but I'd like to agree with Luviagelita. Most of all, I was just happy that there wasn't a "forbidden relationship" uproar in ME3. Still, Reapers are just starting to destroy everything, so most people have other concerns, but after the war it may be different again.
Edit: Wow, there's indeed automatic censoring of four-letter words in word combinations?

I don't think Shakarian are the firsts to ever attempt a turian/human relationship, but I doubt it's been done a lot. Regardless I don't think interspecies relationships in general are really a problem for anyone during the game's timeline, but it's probably not very common for some species.

Oh I agree. It would have been entertaining at best, but completely out of place. Besides, "forbidden relationships" stories are starting to get old.

Ah, misunderstood the "First Contact War" line, then. Yeah, we can agree on that, especially on the "forbidden relationship" part there

I wholly agree that Garrus/Dr. Michel is a more probable and has a lot less head-scratching than Garrus/Tali. I was expecting a lot more from Dr. Michel to be honest. Remembering how he saved her in ME1 sorta set things up in the end, but I wonder if Garrus even notices? He seems pretty oblivious. Tali didn't seem like one to really go head on to Garrus either. Wonder who initiated it. Oh my...could it be Garrus?! Garrus going after Tali versus Dr. Michel kind of reinforces that humans aren't at the top of his "most attractive species" list.
My thumbs up to Garrus/Tali isn't based totally on dextro either, but I have been in a relationship where we didn't eat the same food and it really bummed me out. It wasn't that he couldn't eat the food, he just flat out refused to. I'm a good cook and previous/subsequent significant others have always loved my food. It sucked to have gotten top-grade ingredients and make a blue ribbon pot roast only to have that ****hat not even taste it.
So personally I felt the "eating same food" connection sorta. Although I could imagine Garrus easily trying to appease Shepard's belly and vice versa, because he's ultra sweet and cool like that. But...back on Garrus and Tali; they share the same sense of humor. Had a few inside jokes. Although I still say I'd be much happier and less annoyed with Garrus/Dr. Michel than Garrus/Tali.
But other than Gavorn? No human/turians?
I'm also glad the ME universe didn't go..."ZOMG forbidden love!" on Shakarian either. Whew. Long post. Yay!
