The only thing i dislike is the ultra-heavy armour in ME3. I mean seriously, compare how thing Turian legs are on NPC's to his armour and either hes bulked up or hes protecting his legs A LOT. ME2 wasn't too bad though.

Oh and the lack of fluffy dialogue in ME3, was expecting one or two non-almost-R rated scenes in sheps cabin....but then again, much like everything ME3....

Sweet Jesus on a ******! I haven't been in here in awhile, how's it hanging fellow Garrus lovers? I just got back from playing Dragon Age, needed a break from Mass Effect. Since the EC is supposed to come out hopefully relatively soon I'm replaying ME2-ME3.

I'm in the same boat with Karrie regarding ME1 Garrus and his stupid mouth and the horrible things he says to Tali and Wrex. I'd totally forgotten how much of a knobjockey he could be in ME1.

But in retrospect, knowing how much of a boss he becomes in ME2 and ME3 makes me glad he showed development over the series. You had to see him at his most facepalmable so you could appreciate how he grew up into a complete badass.

P.S. I've rustled up and read several Saren x Femshep fics. Can I just say: HELLS YISSSSSSSSS.

:happy::o Do post some links? I get scared and lost when looking for new fanfics...and SarenxFemshep makes my mouth water. XD

I think they put too much armour on him in ME2 and 3. I prefer to think about him as the smart and professional sniper who relies more on his rifle and skills than armour. He looked more dangerous as the slim but atlethic guy he was in ME1.

I like the heavy armor on him. It makes for interesting theories on how turian bodies develop and bulk up. Yeah I know he gets the same body as the rest of the turians when he's wearing clothes instead of armor, but I'll just chalk that up to laziness from the designers :D

In ME1, especially in light armor, I thought his armor sort of reinforced the "young, impatient and hotheaded" style he had. So it worked.
In ME2 he's been through hell both mentally and physically so he's grown and stacked on some heavier armor for better protection and a better fit. The cracked collar from the missile also adds to the 'weary, jaded and has seen the bad side of the galaxy' look.
In ME3 he's gotten the 'spring' back to his step, but he's likely to have kept the physical shape he grew into so he's still wearing heavy armor. And he like, never takes the damn thing off so I guess he just really likes his armor.

I agree with what previous posters have said, ME1 Garrus said some pretty mean spirited things but I forgave it because he was younger and inexperienced. I like how he does apologise to tali for what he said and is shocked when she repeated  what he said to her all those years ago, shows how much he’s grown. Other than that (and the calibrations) I have nothing to complain about his character.
I’m a fan of the bulky armour myself, I just wish we had seen him in his civvies more...or maybe seen the guy shirtless Image IPB. But if bioware didn’t bother to render Tali’s face reveal then there was no way they were going to show turian autonomy.  Which is a shame really because while I wasn’t expecting anything graphic during the romance scene...I was hoping a few montage flashes of them embracing or kissing at least. That to me, would have been achievable and tasteful. Then have shepard wake up with a blanket on her (poor cold shepard) and show a half nekkied turian doing her paperwork instead Image IPB

If they did that for jacob in ME2 they could have done it for garrus, would have made up for the fact we weren't going to have the same kind of romance scenes as liara and the VS.

FanFic.net is going to be deleting every Rated M FanFiction.

Ever since it was opened, Fanfiction.NET had always been a place for avid fans-- of ANYTHING-- to feel at home. To express whatever is on our minds and truly let our love for characters, plotlines and scenarios shine through.

Now all of a sudden, FF.net has decided to go through a massive upheaval and remove thousands of stories from its library, some of the best fanfics ever written, gone, never to be read again. They are removing anything involving sexual situations, or violence, or inspired by a song, the list goes on. And we as readers see this as a gross waste of talent and incredible material.

Fanfiction.net has always been a place for us writers to 'Unleash our imagination' as the tagline states, and now we are having that right to freedom of speech and expression taken away from us. Since when are they allowed to dictate what goes into our stories? They are OUR pieces of work. What if the violence or sexual content is part of the plotline? This whole situation is absurd. There are better ways to deal with 'inappropriate' content than to remove it altogether. What about adult filters? Age restrictions? There are so many other options!!
So I'm asking please, for all us readers, writers, and fans alike...

STOP THE DESTRUCTION OF FF.NET!!!!

Sign this petition now!

So, they're deleting 99% of their website?

Guys and girls... FF.net has been doing this for years already. This is the third time I see a 'big purge' being advertized across the years I've been active in fandoms.

FF.net reader/writer base is mostly built up with young teenagers and a bunch of trolls. They will report everything they don't like, and FF.net goes by the "enough reports equals removal" policy.

Just move your stuff over to Archive of Our Own. There's basically no content rules on that site.

OMG, while I love a lot of the T rated stories, the M ones are the only ones that actually fit the ME world.
When you have characters in game that say F()@#, your fanfic has to be able to say F()@#.
And, well, I admit to liking my fair share of smut =/

Im wondering if I should be going on a copy pasta spree of enormous magnitude...

Hmmm... I can't seem to find where they said they're going to get rid of M rated content. All I can see is that they just repeated the rules on the front page?

Hello fellow Garrus lovers und bromancers,

in case of romancing Garrus - has it already been discussed that there's no photo of Garrus on Sheps desk in her cabin, even after the "final cabin scene"? Does anyone know whether that's a bug or just "artistic integrity"? As far as I know, the frame on the desk shows only a photo if you romanced Liara, Ash, Kaidan or Tali (after Rannoch).

I don't think anyone but Tali gets a photo in ME3. The other ones were in ME2 for sure so.

Was thinking more along the lines of a certain flexible recon-scout, not that that joke has been done to death or anything :P

None of these are really new so you might have come across them before. FemShepxSaren is something of a recent revelation to me so if you've seen these before, that's all I've found myself that I'd recommend to someone else. Here goes:

Settling Disputes (KM fill)
Continuing Struggles (KM fill)
Authored by inthenightside (FF.net)

The last two chapters of "Learning Experiences" have been used to fill a KM prompt here. The whole story is really worth the read but I've put the KM link here for completion's sake. Learning Experiences by inthefadeforever on FF.net (Full story)

Battlegrounds (KM fill)
Temporary Distortion (KM fill)
Secrets (KM fill)

This is a Nihlus/Saren fic that has a special place in my heart because it never fails to make me laugh:
Disasters Like You are One in a Million (KM fill)

Never! Keep the memes and tired old jokes alive in the hope of that it might lead to a future DLC including said female turian. As a new LI of course.

Have to say, that would be the catalyst (lololololol) that makes me do a manshep playthrough and put up with Meers VA work for three games...

Seemed like I missed quite a party during the last days. Witchhunts on ff.net? Thanks for the warning, by the way. Only frustrating part about it (aside from the obvious, i.e. censoring / bans on ff.net): Spending the better part of a morning on saving a number of stories and short-story groups, just to discover that three of them were continued and I didn't notice until now, but that two of them chose weird variations of the only ending I will not touch if I can help it, while the third short-story series ended with a lot of blue blood, a remark about the bar in heaven and finally two dead heroes. Obviously, hoping for a happy end is too much to ask even in fanfiction nowadays.

Ah, well, frustration talking. Anyway...

[list of fanfictions]

According to kink meme's "who wrote what" (masseffectkink.livejournal.com/1511.html), there are quite a lot of fills from the first author you recommend. Haven't read all of them myself, but my general impression is that the chosen pairings, aside from FShep / Garrus, are very often 'non-standard' and / or AUs, with quite an amount of (really) M-rated material, but that the author has great respect for the characters, doesn't reduce them to cheap actors in a questionable movie, and generally produces enjoyable stories, even if one wouldn't guess it from the descriptions alone.  I wouldn't think that Ash / Garrus is possible or in character or whatever, but this author somehow made it work on at least one occasion.

Edit: And female turians... Yeah, I'd probably start multiplayer again, just for the chance to play one. Always imagined Solana as a kind of infiltrator, soldier/tech, but more of a short-range fighter, cloak-and-critical-hit style. Basically because she's probably got similar skills (and education) as Garrus, but I see her as a younger sister with quite a temper, who is determined to "go her own way" and not just copy her older brother.
No idea why I got that impression, though  Is there any canonical information on her, regarding profession / age / whatever?

Thank for pointing out the "who wrote what" resource. I never looked into it until now but it really is rather handy.
Have to agree with you on all points. I just reread Ash/Garrus "Turning Points" and I can see the similarity in style now. Such a good read ^^

Just popped in to share this video (by Nicholasfunstuff of a comic by suthnmeh) of the end of ME3. It made me cry.

Warning: May give you unpleasant flashbacks to the ending of ME3.
