Oh and the lack of fluffy dialogue in ME3, was expecting one or two non-almost-R rated scenes in sheps cabin....but then again, much like everything ME3....

I'm in the same boat with Karrie regarding ME1 Garrus and his stupid mouth and the horrible things he says to Tali and Wrex. I'd totally forgotten how much of a knobjockey he could be in ME1.
But in retrospect, knowing how much of a boss he becomes in ME2 and ME3 makes me glad he showed development over the series. You had to see him at his most facepalmable so you could appreciate how he grew up into a complete badass.
P.S. I've rustled up and read several Saren x Femshep fics. Can I just say: HELLS YISSSSSSSSS.

I think they put too much armour on him in ME2 and 3. I prefer to think about him as the smart and professional sniper who relies more on his rifle and skills than armour. He looked more dangerous as the slim but atlethic guy he was in ME1.
I like the heavy armor on him. It makes for interesting theories on how turian bodies develop and bulk up. Yeah I know he gets the same body as the rest of the turians when he's wearing clothes instead of armor, but I'll just chalk that up to laziness from the designers
In ME1, especially in light armor, I thought his armor sort of reinforced the "young, impatient and hotheaded" style he had. So it worked.
In ME2 he's been through hell both mentally and physically so he's grown and stacked on some heavier armor for better protection and a better fit. The cracked collar from the missile also adds to the 'weary, jaded and has seen the bad side of the galaxy' look.
In ME3 he's gotten the 'spring' back to his step, but he's likely to have kept the physical shape he grew into so he's still wearing heavy armor. And he like, never takes the damn thing off so I guess he just really likes his armor.

I’m a fan of the bulky armour myself, I just wish we had seen him in his civvies more...or maybe seen the guy shirtless
If they did that for jacob in ME2 they could have done it for garrus, would have made up for the fact we weren't going to have the same kind of romance scenes as liara and the VS.

Ever since it was opened, Fanfiction.NET had always been a place for avid fans-- of ANYTHING-- to feel at home. To express whatever is on our minds and truly let our love for characters, plotlines and scenarios shine through.
Now all of a sudden, FF.net has decided to go through a massive upheaval and remove thousands of stories from its library, some of the best fanfics ever written, gone, never to be read again. They are removing anything involving sexual situations, or violence, or inspired by a song, the list goes on. And we as readers see this as a gross waste of talent and incredible material.
Fanfiction.net has always been a place for us writers to 'Unleash our imagination' as the tagline states, and now we are having that right to freedom of speech and expression taken away from us. Since when are they allowed to dictate what goes into our stories? They are OUR pieces of work. What if the violence or sexual content is part of the plotline? This whole situation is absurd. There are better ways to deal with 'inappropriate' content than to remove it altogether. What about adult filters? Age restrictions? There are so many other options!!
So I'm asking please, for all us readers, writers, and fans alike...
STOP THE DESTRUCTION OF FF.NET!!!!

So, they're deleting 99% of their website?

FF.net reader/writer base is mostly built up with young teenagers and a bunch of trolls. They will report everything they don't like, and FF.net goes by the "enough reports equals removal" policy.
Just move your stuff over to Archive of Our Own. There's basically no content rules on that site.

When you have characters in game that say F()@#, your fanfic has to be able to say F()@#.
And, well, I admit to liking my fair share of smut =/
Im wondering if I should be going on a copy pasta spree of enormous magnitude...

in case of romancing Garrus - has it already been discussed that there's no photo of Garrus on Sheps desk in her cabin, even after the "final cabin scene"? Does anyone know whether that's a bug or just "artistic integrity"? As far as I know, the frame on the desk shows only a photo if you romanced Liara, Ash, Kaidan or Tali (after Rannoch).

Here.
Better yet, make her an infiltrator.
I love this idea to bits and pieces. female counterpart to Garrus that can play as? Hell yeah!
Was thinking more along the lines of a certain flexible recon-scout, not that that joke has been done to death or anything

Do post some links? I get scared and lost when looking for new fanfics...and SarenxFemshep makes my mouth water. XD
None of these are really new so you might have come across them before. FemShepxSaren is something of a recent revelation to me so if you've seen these before, that's all I've found myself that I'd recommend to someone else. Here goes:
Settling Disputes (KM fill)
Continuing Struggles (KM fill)
Authored by inthenightside (FF.net)
The last two chapters of "Learning Experiences" have been used to fill a KM prompt here. The whole story is really worth the read but I've put the KM link here for completion's sake. Learning Experiences by inthefadeforever on FF.net (Full story)
Battlegrounds (KM fill)
Temporary Distortion (KM fill)
Secrets (KM fill)
This is a Nihlus/Saren fic that has a special place in my heart because it never fails to make me laugh:
Disasters Like You are One in a Million (KM fill)

Never! Keep the memes and tired old jokes alive in the hope of that it might lead to a future DLC including said female turian. As a new LI of course.EnvyTB075 wrote...

Have to say, that would be the catalyst (lololololol) that makes me do a manshep playthrough and put up with Meers VA work for three games...

Ah, well, frustration talking. Anyway...
According to kink meme's "who wrote what" (masseffectkink.livejournal.com/1511.html), there are quite a lot of fills from the first author you recommend. Haven't read all of them myself, but my general impression is that the chosen pairings, aside from FShep / Garrus, are very often 'non-standard' and / or AUs, with quite an amount of (really) M-rated material, but that the author has great respect for the characters, doesn't reduce them to cheap actors in a questionable movie, and generally produces enjoyable stories, even if one wouldn't guess it from the descriptions alone. I wouldn't think that Ash / Garrus is possible or in character or whatever, but this author somehow made it work on at least one occasion.Niostang wrote...

Edit: And female turians... Yeah, I'd probably start multiplayer again, just for the chance to play one. Always imagined Solana as a kind of infiltrator, soldier/tech, but more of a short-range fighter, cloak-and-critical-hit style. Basically because she's probably got similar skills (and education) as Garrus, but I see her as a younger sister with quite a temper, who is determined to "go her own way" and not just copy her older brother.
No idea why I got that impression, though

Thank for pointing out the "who wrote what" resource. I never looked into it until now but it really is rather handy.
Have to agree with you on all points. I just reread Ash/Garrus "Turning Points" and I can see the similarity in style now. Such a good read ^^
