Was anyone else a little disappointed that the plaque said "Commander" instead of the name of your Shep?

I loved the EC... it actually made me want to play the trilogy again. Mainly because of Hackett's narration and Garrus saying... you know.Mara Shep wrote...
*SPOILERS*
In the Control and Synthesis memorial scene, the plaque got put on the wall.
In my flashback I got Anderson, Thane and Garrus - Thane really confused me, maybe I nearly romanced him? I don't know, I used my original game so I can't quite remember.
Recently I started another playthrough but with my Mara Shep's face patched, and having done the old save, damn the patch has worked a treat. So when I finish my patched playthrough (my "canon" Shep, the other will now be known as "alternative universe Shep"), that will be my big finale playthrough.
That, is, if I can play it. I don't know if I can do all that again, how do you guys do it??
But that's maybe because my expectations were quite low and I knew the darn Catalyst wasn't going away.
Funny thing about that, I actually read the "an" of "Commander" and thought for a second it would read "Lexane". Yep, I was a bit disappointed. But knowing that some people give stupid names to their Shepard, it could kill the mood. xDAsch Lavigne wrote...

Before the EMS fix in the EC I never really cared not about seeing Shep breathe. But now with the EC seeing Garrus smile at the end, I'm so glad they fixed it. I wonder what happens if you have low EMS, I assume your LI just puts the plaque on the wall like in the other endings?

Haven't played it myself, but yeah, it seems to be a bit unpersonal. I suppose it's due to different possible lengths of Shepard's name (both really short and really long names could be problematic), and in-game it makes a certain sense, too (or not, considering what Shepard says to Chakwas...).
What exactly is fixed in terms of EMS? Reduced numbers, so that 'Shepard breathes' is really possible without multiplayer?
Edit: About Garrus leaving: I thought he was burned / limping / whatever and explicitely ordered to go?

I was mind blown from the EC at first. heh. So many emotions! Trying to wrap my head around all of it. Its was mainly that memorial scene that left me speechless. I was so ......meh? I cant even find the right word for it. XDMara Shep wrote...
So, let the head canon reunions begin!
Definitely much better in terms of closure. I kind of didn't pick up on the whole "LI not believing Shep is dead" though, mostly as I was a blur of emotions. BUT YAY!
EDIT: I also got Thane in the Destroy choice. Glad I he got a mention!
I loved the EC, but thats honestly the only loose end. And its bothering me @-@ I wants bioware to do a crew reunion scene. I honestly expected it, but it didnt happen T-T
As for the flashbacks - b4 everyone pretty much got Anderson,Joker and Liara right? This time i got, Anderson, Edi and Garrus [in that order]. I can understand why EDI because i choose the destroy option. My headcanon thinks Shepard thought of EDI as hoping that she'll be ok, seeing as shepard is risking to destroy all synthetic life. Garrus last, well....obviously

Not sure what they did with the EMS. My guess would be they lowered the requirement level. Only other thing I can think of is them giving us more points for stuff but that seems unlikely.

However, I want to give my Shep the finish she deserves, so I will take a break for a few days, and return to it.
Also, I so missed Garrus' smile, I noticed the mandible twitch, but for some reason didn't interpret it as a smile. Again, eyes blurry, haha.

I wasnt EXACTLY disappointed per say....but I did feel it was alot less personal. Obviously the name can never be voiced out. So I did expect after all this time, Sheps name would finally show up SOMEWHERE in the series, other than the power/skills menu. I see it possible that it couldve been done.Karrie788 wrote...

Like Asch mentioned - I also for a SPLIT second thought I saw my sheps name. I couldve sworn i saw a Commander "Ser" on there. My sheps name is Serena. But that was my imagination. It was probably just part of the "Shepard" that played tricks on me XP

Don't know if this had been brought up too but I also really like the way your LI stroked their fingers over "Shepard" on the plaque instead of just holding it. It was a really nice little touch. Good job there, Bioware!
Does it happen if Shep doesn't have a LI, or one who isn't on the Normandy?

I played through the three endings where everyone doesn't die (I'm not touching that fourth ending lol) and in all three I got the same flashbacks- Anderson, Thane, and Garrus. I was surprised about Thane's because I've never romanced him but I was glad that Bioware remembered that he existed and died.
Also, yeah they lowered the EMS required for the Shep lives ending to 2000. (Or was it 2500? Eh, one of those. I read that somewhere on BSN.)

AGREED.
Since I played all three endings, I just realized... two out of three times my Shep lied to Garrus about coming back alive (back when you say bye to everyone before the assault). I'm soooorry Garrus

That made me get watery eyes...

Oh dont worry sweetie. same here XD I was feeling so many things - that idk why - it didnt translate to me all that great. I saw a smile, mixed with saddness. But rewatching - thats totally a smile. Like a huge realization just hit him deep down inside. The fact he KNOWS his lover is alive. Its Garrus. He always knows what's up. Shepard can never hide anything from himMara Shep wrote...

Control... sort of puts a different spin on the "I'll be looking down on you. You'll never be alone" bit
Reaper!Shep does say "And I will watch over the ones who live on. Those who carry the memory of the woman I once was. The woman who gave up her life to become the one twho could save the many" as her LI is putting up her plaque.
And this will totally remove all seriousness out of the control ending.

Doing quite a few shifts this week, will get in the way of a replay, damnit.
The Control ending actually made me almost like it, mostly for the fact that was Fem/Reaper Shep was speaking, and it was just such an amazing speech (Hackett's was too!), and was brilliantly well done. Also, THE MUSIC. GODS.

Oh. Well, I never wanted to choose Control anyway. And that speech - that's a little bit too far out of my comfort zone.
Don't get me wrong, I can see how people like the Control or Synthesis ending. For me it's just both in-game and personal reasons speaking for Destroy: In-game it was always the goal to destroy the Reapers, so reconsidering that big goal after a speech of a manipulating and mind reading AI with the avatar of a dead boy who just happens to haunt Shepard in her dreams doesn't seem to be the most sensible thing to do. Roleplaying-wise, none of my Shepards really believed the Catalyst's words. And personal reasons for Destroy are based on process of elimination: Control is the old 'absolute power corrupts absolutely' danger, and Synthesis... Even without the space magic part it's still forcing a fundamental change on the whole damn galaxy without the agreement or consent of anybody.
Sure, that Destroy is the only ending offering the possibility of a reunion is a very big bonus... But between "possibly corrupted God", "moraly questionable space-magic saint figure", "classic hero", I'd take the hero option any day, regardless of who lived.

I love the way he reaches up with his hand and touches hers....GAH. His expression is so intense.
I chose Destroy, my Shep is Paragon with hints of Renegade, and I wish I didn't have to sacrifice EDI, but...it is right for me. During the whole conversation with the Catalyst I kept thinking "I am going to DESTROY you."
I was glad we got to quiz the Catalyst more, but it did make me hate him more than ever, and feel validated in my heate for his arrogance.
