I chose Destroy, my Shep is Paragon with hints of Renegade, and I wish I didn't have to sacrifice EDI, but...it is right for me. During the whole conversation with the Catalyst I kept thinking "I am going to DESTROY you."

Yeah. Even though I didn't even touch the fourth ending, I like that they made the Catalyst use a reaper voice when it realized Shep wasn't going to play. It's like a reminder of what it really is and why we want it dead and burned with fire.Karrie788 wrote...

It broke my heart to sacrifice EDI and the Geth, but I soooo wanted the Catalyst and the Reapers to burst into flames, there was no other option. Even with the EC.

I think my favorite part about that scene was actually him tilting his head back and closing his eyes. I don't know why, but that expression really struck me and I got emotional all over again.
I wanted to make 2 gifs but I cant make them anymore. Idk any great sites to making some HD gifs. I wants one on garrus careesing the plaque, and another of him doing that smile and looking up in thought.
Tumblr delivers once again (for your second request anyway)

I chose that fourth ending by accident on my first play throguh, admittedly. It was like "I can say stuff your choices? AWESOME!" If only I knew what was going to happen. Wow that was bad.
Her "screw you" speech was awesome though.
I think that it wipes out all synthetic life in the galaxy by destroying (deleting???) their programs. So I think the AI core would be smoking with no EDI left inside.ArcanaLegacy wrote...

And that creepy aggrivated voice [that sounds like harbinger o.O] you get from that godchild just made me NOT trust him even more than before. Destroy option for me. Every.Single.Time.
It hurts so much to lose the geth. I had such a soft spot for Legion, and now knowing he was still apart of them. Software-wise. And EDI. Idk why, but wouldnt just Eva's body be destroyed? I know we can see EDI's name on the memorial wall - but this was rather confusing. EDI's REAL self is in the normandy AI core. She controlled eva's body for better means for combat and accessibility purposes. She even said it herself that she still resides in the AI core
Speaking for EDI, Anyone else find it rather beautiful and heart felt that Garrus gave EDI a hug in the synthesis ending?

Im pretty sure that was everyone's reaction more or less XPAsch Lavigne wrote...
I did that too. But I shot the Starbrat (just cause) and he automatically said "So be it. The cycle continues." I was like "Woah! A consequence for shooting him!"Mara Shep wrote...

I just reloaded right after the harbinger-like tone "So be it. The cycle will continue."
I didnt want to see it, cuz that wasnt my decision, i just always had a habit of shooting the child to vent out my hate for him in the past original ending XD
Bioware trolling at its finest LOL

rewatching more of the endings - that memorial scene keeps getting me T-T I never got to see Garrus put up the plaque til moments ago. I find heartbreaking how Garrus' hand lingers on the plaque abit before he steps back.... Like he's just doesnt want to let go of her.
ok i think i've spammed enuff pics XP

I liked how they presented Control - I think it was quite moving really, especially when you think about some of Shep's last words with Garrus. But still.

What I found interesting is how being Paragon or Renegade leaning changes the tone of the Control ending. Renegade control is terrifying.

Anything newish After Habinger-lands race-to-conduit bit? I keep getting blue screen there, so even the 'legend' saves are pretty useless for me up to that point.
Could someone maybe help me get my Shepard just past that point for the Autosave after? Game should be fine after that specific point...

I love that those options are available. Jenn Hale is still a total legend. She really made those scenes.

Control was actually the ending I liked least. Have yet to see the Renegade version. Hale sounded creepy as a machine Shep or whatever. But her acting on the Citadel scenes, she made Shep sound just as exhasuted and beaten as when she recorded the original ending all those months ago.

*shivers* I already thought control was creepy. Even as a paragon, I can't help but see Shepard as, in tens of thousands of years, becoming essentially the next starchild. There's enough humanity left in her to go mad with that kind of power, that immortality. Paragon or renegade, you're still setting your Shepard up not as a figure of hope and cooperation, or of strength and leadership, but as a hopefully benevolent god with control of an unopposable army of horrors. TIM wanted that power for humanity, but my Shepard was telling him just a few moments before the final decision that humanity is not ready. Maybe a few cycles are skipped, but I see them resuming eventually, with Shepard now at the helm.
Synthesis - also creepy. Unless it's completely stopped evolution, in tens or hundreds of thousands of years, on some planet where there were only sub-sentient creatures prior to Shepard's decision, a species will rise up to full consciousness, create culture, computers, and even though they don't understand why their DNA is partially synthetic (does this make any sense in general, and especially on pre-civilization planets?), they will build machines to make their lives easier. In time, "the cycle" continues. Saren believed that a synthesis of organic and synthetic life was the way to achieve greatness for both. This rejects the idea that its the differences between species (both organic and synthetic) being used to their greatest advantage, that makes this cycle the one that can finally break the Reapers.
Refuse - "What, no! Our endings were good! Choose one or it's your fault everyone dies!" I really wish there was a pants on head emoticon.
As crappy as killing EDI (who had told me not long before that she was willing to sacrifice herself to save Jeff from the Reapers, who repulsed her), and the Geth (didn't I spend two games trusting Legion and brokering peace between them and the Quarians?) was, I still see Destroy as the only acceptable ending. I'm not naive enough to say that peace between the Geth and Quarians meant that there would never be another conflict between organics and synthetics - only that peace is possible. And more than that, I can't stomach setting a human being up as a deity, or forcing every scrap of life in the galaxy into a forced harmony through homogeny. Perhaps organic beings will continue to create synthetic beings who will rebel against them in time, but is it Shepard's place to not allow this to happen?
