Having seen those control options.....they're intriguing. Not something i would do, but if played with a Shepard who would have agreed with TIM and joined Cerberus if it were written in, it fits.
Also i took Javik on the run to the beam, was on my insanity play through and his biotics were extremely useful (oh and dat particle rifle....daaaayyym). Him and Garrus put up a good damn fight against those two banshees while i ran around cloaked waiting for the missiles to activate

Hello Garrus thread. I have a question regarding the memorial scene. I romanced Garrus and chose Destroy, during the memorial scene, Garrus put my plaque up on the wall and I don't recall seeing him smile like in the GIFs everyone is posting. Does this mean my Shepard died?
Did you get a breath scene at the end? You might have to raise your EMS higher if not, I think the threshold for the best ending is 2500 now, but I'm not completely sure.

No, I did not. I use Xbox 360, and my internet is not fast enough to allow me to play MP, so I don't really have a way to raise it. My EMS was 2778, and I think the required EMS is 3100. *sigh* I guess I will just have to head canon that she lived.

Where do I find it? And, is there a possibility that it could corrupt my game file?

This is the thread for it, i've used the editor myself but i'm not sure what the risks are with the EMS score specifically.
Basically its a "use at your own risk" thing.

I can't remember what my EMS was but when I loaded my game after downloading the EC I got the "Master & Commander" achievement and was able to see the breathe scene. I never played multiplayer, used the save editor, all I did was do all the available quests in the single player campaign.

I saw a video of a full on renegade through ME2, like Wreav in charge, Tali dead, cure destroyed, Mordin alive, etc...
And it had a couple different lines than my Renegade Control that had high positive EMS (Geth and Quarians united, cure saved, Bakara alive, Mordin dead, etc...).
I know for a fact that the slides I saw were different since I had different people dead/alive, but I'm also pretty sure a couple of the lines were different as well: specifically the lines about remembering those who fought and protecting what is right... though it still had the overall badassery of being the "active" defender, watcher and protector of the galaxy's beings.
Made me think no other "reapers" or baddies from other galaxies better try f@(king with us 'Milkies' LOL

I actually really loved control. I already had three Shepards that really fit each of the RGB choices in the end so it was easier for me to experience the endings through their own eyes rather than reload all four on my main and judge them by how they wouldn't have "fit." My control girl was created in ME2 mainly to check out the Jacob romance. I decided to have her be pro-Cerberus with a strong human bias (in order to fill in the blanks on why Wrex wasn't around, no rachni queen, etc). Her story took a life of its own and I really dug her game. She went from being burned by the Alliance in ME2 to being burned by TIM/Jacob in ME3. None of the pro-Cerberus decisions paid off in ME3. Wreav was just so bullheaded and war hungry. With the data gone, it was futile to work with the krogans. Legion had been sold to Cerberus so there was no connection to the geth, just another race that geared up to wipe another race for their survival so she had to put them down. Thessia got overwhelmed obviously, yet another defeat. Humanity suffered at the hands of TIM. (You know it's bad when Javik is the one giving Shepard a pep talk. =p) Going with control really fit her state of mind. And I definitely saw a parallel with leaving David on the Overlord project to control the geth and Shepard choosing to control the reapers in order to prevent future wars. It was like watching a Phoenix rise out of the ashes, Jennifer Hale's voice talking about Shepard like this was HER STORY (not the galaxy's story). No more oppression or being preyed upon by others, she was now there to defend the weak, to put an "end to the bickering of the many."Deviant Ingredient wrote...
Those Garrus images make me want to cry. ;~; I always choose destroy and although synthesis creeps me out, and makes me frown at the morality of it, anyone else actually really creeped out more by Control? I don't know, AI Shepard just seems rather spooky to me. And the potential to become an evil overlord like StarBaby. Hell StarBaby even admitted he took control over his creators and forced them into being the first Reapers.
This is not an attack on those who liked Control, I'm just curious.
She's not my canon, but she's probably my favorite character and while I love destroy for the love story, I really love control for the empowerment, the embodiment of what Shepard is to me. =p

I have tried the editor once and had no problems. I made a backup of the save I was going to manipulate, though, and if any manipulations on the Coalesced file are required, I'd backup it, too, stay singleplayer only with the manipulated file and switch to the backup as soon as I wanted multiplayer. Bioware's general policy seems to be (or was, last I looked) that SP manipulations are okay, only critical thing is MP changes that give one an unfair advantage. Since that's a bit "gray" for my taste, I'd stick to not manipulating anything in MP, not even key bindings, while still trying some things out in SP.

The Control ending really reminded me of the God-Emperor in Warhammer 40K or in Dune. It's creepy and disturbing, but in its own way also appropriate. The one way for Shepard to personally ensure something like the Reaper War never happens again is the control ending. Of course there's potential to become an evil overlord. And even a 100% benevolent machine God-Emperor is still a deeply creepy prospect. But IMO that's what makes it the most interesting ending, even if it's not the happiest.
I've decided on Destroy and a happy ending for my Paragade FemShep; I just can't bring myself to split up her and Garrus. But my Renegon ManShep is going Control, and I think he stands a fairly good chance of pulling it off without going off the deep end. The Starbrat was programmed to find a solution to the problem of conflict between organics and synthetics, full stop, whatever it took. But the God-Emperor AI is based on something more complex than a simple directive; Shepard brings his/her morals, ideals, and duties to that AI's fundamental existence. Those elements of Shepard's mortal experience would probably keep the new all-powerful AI from devaluing life. In addition, the axiom that "power corrupts" is usually proven true by someone who is already powerful grabbing for more. The Shepard AI is already the most powerful being in the galaxy. It covets nothing, fears nothing, and has nothing to gain from cruelty or oppression. Instead, it's given purpose by the person Shepard once was, and unless you pick Control with an absolutely awful Shepard, that purpose is one of benevolence and protection. I also think some Shepards' personalities are better suited to Control without evil insanity. My ManShep, whatever his other flaws, was always an incredibly grounded and compassionate person. Shep forms the foundation for the AI, and those traits would carry over.

now on to check-test the others...
plus getting screenshots, pretty much the only reason I'm doing/picking the other ending choices, just for 'may be useful' screenshots for fanfics and such...

low EMS but not the lowest, so... besides I wanted to see some of what's new.

Yeah...but 1984...when you have all the power, all you want is more power, and that usually ends up devaluing life not in the sense that you should kill everyone, but that you should have power over them.
The way i see control anyways.

*SPOILERS*
In the Control and Synthesis memorial scene, the plaque got put on the wall.
In my flashback I got Anderson, Thane and Garrus - Thane really confused me, maybe I nearly romanced him? I don't know, I used my original game so I can't quite remember.
Recently I started another playthrough but with my Mara Shep's face patched, and having done the old save, damn the patch has worked a treat. So when I finish my patched playthrough (my "canon" Shep, the other will now be known as "alternative universe Shep"), that will be my big finale playthrough.
That, is, if I can play it. I don't know if I can do all that again, how do you guys do it??
Nah doubt it was due to nearly romancing him because I know that my Shepard got close to it, to the point that even in ME3 despite not getting any of the 'romance' stuff with him, he still referred to Shep as Siha.
My destroy ending, took Garrus and Ashley with me to the final mission, had Anderson, EDI and Garrus as my initial 3 flashbacks, Liara was the one who told Joker that they needed to leave, I also saw Thane, Eve and Legion (or not-legion in my case as Legion had died during Suicide Mission in ME2) in the 'people who sacrificed their lives section and of course Garrus hesistated and didn't put plaque on the wall and I got the breath scene.
As for replaying the game, it's simple for me, I like to see as many variables as I can think of and I got 15 other Sheps (2 ME3 finale replays from them) to go through now. I just love all the subtle variables that each of them will show me.

The situation in 1984 is not analogous to the one in the Control ending. In our conventional experience, there are always more ways for politicians, tyrants, militaries, etc. to gain more power, most of which involve violence or oppression. The desire for more power stems as much from ambition as it does from paranoia and fear of losing that power to another.
The Shepard AI's situation is different. It is limitless, immortal, literally the most powerful thing we've seen in the universe. No one can do anything meaningful to harm it, and it has nothing to gain from bullying the surviving races of the galaxy. In other words, there's no reason for it to be malevolent.
EDIT: Crap, ToP and I'm off-topic. Have some Garr-bear.
