Well she loves cats so... I always thought it would be funny to have such a badass character have a cuteness overload everytime she sees a kitten.

Oooh I picked Control with Jane yesterday. Best. Thing. Ever. It's not my canon ending (I mean Garrus is dead in that game... he appears in flashbacks btw), but it's probably my favourite. So powerful.

I still get that 'Galaxy is doomed' feeling if you put a flawed human (nobody is perfect, not even Shepard) into the role of an AI overlord. Personal impression only, of course, no offense to anybody who likes it. Perhaps I think differently after I've actually seen it.

Agreed. I read this REALLY good Fanfiction once about the AI of Shepard and his feelings to the younger cycles, this being set YEARS after Liara, Garrus and Joker had all passed on. He is growing sick of this chaos and decides to start the cycle again.

And I see it as completely possible. Control is a pretty okay option until you consider what happens after everyone Shepard ever cared about is long gone, when the AI sees these stupid newer cycle species making all the same mistakes, I would probably hit 'reset' too and remove the... 'Chaos'.

Could I have a link to that fanfic please?

I could think of no greater punishment than living forever. Its why a lifetime in prison is far worse than execution imo.

I think I need to headcanon a scenario where Garrus decides to join his essence with mine in the control ending - hence NEVER being alone. The control "panel" is still there in the catalyst lair. It's not like the Citadel blew up or anything. Hell, it wasnt even damaged.

Also, I think his epic sense of Justice and humor would be welcome additions to the new overlord.
We could even integrate with EDI and the Normandy and visit them on occasion.

Imagine the ETERNAL adventures to be had, the universe to explore.

You guys can keep your destroy reunions, I'm all about the merging at this point!

LOL, that's actually a awesome take on control.  I like it.

I do have to say I like the control ending best for just being interesting post-EC, regardless of how it turns out.  I have a nasty habit of taking ultimate power in my video game endings (god ascension in Baldur's Gate, taking over the throne in Jade Empire, etc.) even if doing so is the "evil" choice.  My ManShep is headed squarely for that control panel.

A GOD-EMPEROR AM I!

As romantic as that sounds at a glance, I can't help but think of vampire stories. Sure, they always turn their beloveds out of love but centuries down the line they'll grow to resent each other.

The thing I love best about Garrus is his humanity (er, turianity). I would never take that from him.

Anyone seen the latest hold-over sketch at reginaprimata's tumblr? (Proooobably err on the side of NSFW if your coworkers don't get your obsession, or you don't want to have to explain this one to IT.) The expressions and dialogue are priceless if you don't mind dirty humour.

This one should be safe for a slightly more intrepid xenoprude, I think - it tips more to the side of humour than dirty, but it's very unashamedly both, and there's nothing showing.

I didn't like the controll ending to begin with but I thought that maybe it would somehow work for one of my not canon Sheps. Then I saw EC and gave a little more thought to two different outcomes of Javik's "goodbye" conversations and now it's just not an option.

If you let Javik to look into his memory shard he gets depressed and decides to kill himself after the battle (given they would survive and defeat the reapers) Just one touch, one look at his own cycle, watching his friends and loved ones die. Retriving the past and reopening the wounds. As time passes by it gets harder to ignore the pain that only seems to grow bigger each day...

Imagine that for eternity! The Starbrat tells you that all your memories and feelings you had as a human stay intact.
But as a super AI / reaper god / whatever you become, your memories will never get blury.
You will remember every touch every kiss, every word as if it just happened. Then your friends, family, everyone you knew slowly fades away, the love of your life included and you - the awesome reaper god- can't do anything about it. You just get to watch, helples. You'll never see them again since they died and crossed over to whatever afterlife there is in ME universe and you are obviously stuck in a metal catlefish...for ever!

No drinks with Garrus in the bar...no Garrus...no bar even to sooth the pain.
Just handfull of vivid images stored in your "unremovable memory shard"
Ages pass by, civilizations evolve, make the same mistakes...
I dare to suspect that even the most hardcore Paragon/holy Shepard would snap eventuallyPosted Image

The comparison with Javik's conversations is a good point. I got a similar impression from thinking / role-playing how my Shepards would react, taking other examples from literature / movies etc into consideration, but overlooked that in-game example.

Edit: @Sable Rhapsody: Okay, please remind me to go hiding if your Shepards / Bhaalspawns etc enter my world(s) ;)
About Baldur's Gate, though - why is the 'ascension' choice, given that your reputation is high, an evil choice? Sure, there is that power-corruption thing again, but in-game, I thought the ending was pretty optimistic. And in Baldur's Gate, there are still other 'gods' and one 'chief god' who can help keeping the Bhaalspawn in line.

I am so putting my Renegade FemShep as the new Catalyst. I can't imagine the mess the galaxy will become when she takes over.

I was planning to have the Control ending with my ManShep, but he romanced Tali. And then I saw their last goodbye. Destroy it is.

I saddly can't find it anymore. I have a very good feeling it was on fanfiction, but it is not on my favourites list. This saddly means that it has usually been deleted.

If I do find it again though, I will PM you with the link.

I suppose there's no goodbye that's actually 'nice' in that scene. Personally, I still like Garrus' version best (or worst, regarding the 'emotionally hurt'-factor), but you are right, Tali's is hard as well.

The art is wonderful, the characters well drawn, and the level of detail amazing. I still can't say I love it though, since I don't like what the scene implies.

In my headcanon / playthrough, both Shepard and Garrus meet again,
Posted Image

the Geth (again, 'bodies' may have been destroyed but can be rebuilt) and Quarians get along without the need to glow green,

and only EDI's 'body' (EVA) is destroyed permanently.

Tali never fails to make me squish my hands to my face and go "Aowww Tali baby don't be sad ;A;"

Tali's I think was the saddest for me, the way she said had a home made me bawl. However, the way Garrus whispers "Shepard" was beyond perfect. The sheer amount of love that was translated just from that brief exchange  was heart wrenching. Both goodbyes were my favorite, as much as I respect the other LIs, I don't think they got it quite as these two did.
The crack in Shep's voice when she said:  "No matter what happens here" I swear my heart flew out of my chest, and then exploded when Garrus took her hand.

I decided I would paint the very face that made me cry

Anyone else notice his eyes specifically, how they're half lidded and so incredibly soft with regards to the rest of his features?

...looked like how Turians must cry....

edit: Speaking of which i just watched the season finale of Castle. Reunion scene based on that, no?
