I was not expecting him to say what he said...and when it happened, I swear my heart stopped and I sobbed for...I don't know, an hour. I still hate that I was not able to reunite with him, but those three words make up for it for the time being.

I'm just that much of a hopeless romantic, especially for Garrus.

There there, I know that feel. When he told my Shep he loved her I was flying, but then I crashed when I realized the chances of seeing their reuinion...problematic.

The answer to that problem is either modding or piles of tissues, I suppose. If you start a club, I'll gladly join.

About the Tali / Revan person: Funny, I'd never thought there'd be a situation where one could mistake one for the other, especially a full dark-side Revan in his / her armor :D
Though I am not sure if it's really Tali. With the exception of Garrus and Shepard, and the slight possibility of Mordin, everybody else is dead according to ME canon, and last I looked, that was not true for her. And I find it hard to imagine what they'd talk about, if it's really Tali. "Hey, Saren, remember when you sent your killers after me? Didn't work, sorry to disappoint you" just doesn't sound like a good topic. With Revan it would probably be more like "Hm, so, tell me, which surprisingly altruistic motives did you have to try to destroy parts of the galaxy?"
I'd say they'd get along just fine.

Edit: Which message, the "We'll never show a reunion" one or the "LI looks up, wondering / hopeful, hinting at the slight possibility of a reunion"?
Anyway, my Shepard will live and will wait for Garrus, she's just too stubborn to die or give up.

The latter, and with the shot of the Citadel being rebuilt, I have pretty high hopes that it won't be a feat to find shepard.

So curious Turian question in fanfictions. Do you guys know why it always states that the fringe is sensitive? I can believe the mandibles being sensitive simply since Turians don't breast feed therefore I could see them feeding their young like birds do and a brush to the mandibles would trigger a response but...I simply can't think of an evolutionary reason why the fringe would be sensitive. If anything I would think it the opposite and function more like antlers on a deer. More to do with showing off and maybe some headbutting. Thoughts?

I think instead of the fringe it's usually 'under the fringe', which I took to mean where the fringe meets the head rather than just the bottom side of the actual spikes, because that didn't make a lot of sense to me. As for reasons, I don't know. I just think people decided it was cute and ran with it. On a a species covered with plates it's kind of hard to guess sensitive areas.

Isn't it just as hard under the fringe? Hm, maybe I'm a stickler for detail.

We don't know much about turian physiology, so a few things have become fanon; namely, that turians have more sensitive skin under the fringes and at the waist.

It is also fanon that Garrus makes purring sounds when content :3

Its been mentioned how certain people are sad about the lack of Sidonis, but what about Harkins?

I was so looking forward to his revenge for me letting Garrus shoot him.

I actually heard from a friend that it was planned to have Sidonis involved - If he survived Garrus's loyalty mission, he ends up getting Garrus's family off of Palaven.

*shudder* I will never write Garrus purring like a cat.  His VOICE may purr when he speaks (like we can make ours), but no ambient sound like cat makes.

No offense to those who like it, I just really hate that.  (I also dislike all the animal comparisons he gets, but that's a different issue.)

The purring thing I don't really get either. I'm sure I've put it in somewhere without thinking about it, but I just don't see the resemblance between turians and cats. I get the whole vibrating voice thing, but I feel like it would be more like humming than actual purring.

As for turian sensitive spots, I think the fanon comes from the fact that the concept art makes it look like they're armoured all over, except for patches of skin on the back of their heads. I like these ones better though for concepts, makes them look less like carapaces and more like sentient beings (and more interesting sensitive spots)

In other news, there's a Mass Effect Big Bang going on, signups close on July 23rd. For those who are unfamiliar with the concept, basically authors sign up to write a 10 000 - 20 000 word fic on their topic and pairing of choice over a period of 3 months, and artists sign up to do fanart based on scenes from these stories. Here's the link if you want to find out more =)

Yeah, I've been thinking about doing that.  Just don't know what I'd write yet.

I've got my Shenko sequel I'm working on, but that'll be awfully long.

I just have no short ideas.  And anything involving Garrus will go into Loved and its ME3 sequel.

Definitely not a fan of the purr either but I expect it could also be because of the animal comparison and that the drell already have a similar quality (High pitch noise that can't be heard because of their throats)
Imo it de-'humanizes' him hah

Then I wish you both a healthy dose of inspiration. And if you happen to write a story that fits into my comfort zone, I'd be happy to read it, too.

Edited for sleepy fail-quote...
It's logical to assume that Shepard, when alive, will be found in time and that a 'happily-ever-after' is possible. Still doesn't change that I dislike the present Shepard-Alive scene with its rubble, even though I like the canon confirmation that Shepard has a chance to live. Don't know if that makes much sense, if any.

But the good thing is that those who like the current ending can keep it while those who'd like to see something else can mod it. And with the new EC pseudo-videos or nearly-static slides, using truly static screenshots doesn't even seem to be that much out-of-context as it used to.

Edit: Not so sure about the purring thing myself. I usually read it as 'refers to his dual-toned voice' anyway. And since I am no native speaker, I haven't spend a lifetime associating 'purring' with 'sounds that cat make'.

Someone wrote a pretty adorable fic about the borderline stalker C-sec Turian at Purgatory that I thought I'd pass along to my fellow lovers of turians.  Enjoy

Nothing. Sorry, just a proof that humans aren't meant to go on too little sleep for too long. I am going to edit that above, though then this exchange might look a bit weird.

Anyway, is there any news / hints / rumours about any non-multiplayer DLCs, now that the EC is released?

They're going to talk about something at Comicon on July 14th! My best guess is Leviathian or Omega, but it's not too long of a wait =)

Speaking of visors, those of you who use snipers, do you actually equip the +headshot damage gear?
I don't waste stats on it because with the rifles I tend to use, a headshot is always a bloody mess...

Why would I need to increase the damage?
LOL

Tali never fails to make me squish my hands to my face and go "Aowww Tali baby don't be sad ;A;"

Tali's I think was the saddest for me, the way she said had a home made me bawl. However, the way Garrus whispers "Shepard" was beyond perfect. The sheer amount of love that was translated just from that brief exchange  was heart wrenching. Both goodbyes were my favorite, as much as I respect the other LIs, I don't think they got it quite as these two did.
The crack in Shep's voice when she said:  "No matter what happens here" I swear my heart flew out of my chest, and then exploded when Garrus took her hand.

I decided I would paint the very face that made me cry

I think you should post a high-res version of this!

I do, on both of my infiltrators. I tend to not fire unless it's going to be a headshot, and if I miss, I miss. It feels so much better when I kill them in one shot, armor/shields/barriers and all with a headshot. Takes a bit longer in fights for it, and I always bring Garrus with me, and he's certainly stolen a few of my kills from me when he's set up for sniping as well. Silly, turian <3

I equip it on my vanguard on lower difficulties, even though she doesn't use any weapons. It's not to match Garrus, not at all

I agree though, with a Black Widow X even on the higher difficulties the headshot damage is useless lol.
