Ahahaha though with all this biology talk going around, this seems pretty relevant.

I do remember watching something once on tv, forget what it was called, but they compared something from a Dinosaur (t-rex-like), a mammal, and a reptile... Interestingly the Dino's was closer to the Mammals...

if I can find it or anything on it I'll link...

Maybe some Dinosaurs were more mammal-like than Bird- or Reptile-like.

------
@Chickens: another tv show, peeked inside a Chicken Egg, and apparently the baby while in the egg had a long tail.

and, chickens do have a dormant gene for teath.

It's interesting that the beak starts to come in a little more with a less sharp angle when it gets teeth. Like human and turian mouths, even though it's still extended a lot more. :o

I'm not sure where I saw/read that turians were based off of birds, but I'm pretty sure it was in an interview with Bioware's artists. Don't take that as fact though, I don't have access to Youtube to check lol.

As for the cold-blooded thing, we've never seen any kind of cold-blooded animal evolve far enough to be close to sentience, so it's anyone's guess how it would work, but I'm sure life would find a way. Maybe if the dinosaurs hadn't been killed off and evolved into sentient raptors we would know today =P

Also, is that mentioned post in the Tali thread the reason why people have negative connotations with Tali's sweat? I feel like it might be....

I can confirm it. The artbook refers to turians as a birdlike species. There are even sketches where they look less like eagles and more like chickens.

There were also the guys who would get threads locked by derailing them with Tali sweat (don't ask). I think another joke was that someone analyzed (speculated) that her sweat would be a drug and natural performance enhancer.

Very interesting stuff, Pyn! Kinda makes my head spin thinking about the evolutionary implications of extraterrestrial life...but I digress. (hang on, have to catch my breath, still LOL'ing at the above images)

I hope one day the fandom and the devs will once again find peace with each other at least so they'll talk to us again. I remember the days, they'd come in every now and then and shoot the breeze over these kinds of questions. One even answered the burning question of how long turians lived (same as humans, about 150 years). My gut tells me they're warm-blooded. I have no evidence to really back that up but heck, even the lizard people who once licked their eyes are endothermic. If the codex never mentioned anything, I would have thought otherwise.

And yes, the infamous Tali sweat post...I just didn't want to come right out and say it >__>

But guys, maybe I'm opening up another can of worms here but...how do you suppose turian babies come about? Yes I know reach and flexibility but...I mean like...do you think they're live-born? It kind of creeps me out to think that turians would lay eggs.

On the wiki it says they're viviparous, but I don't specifically remember whether this is said in the Codex or anywhere in-game. To my knowledge salarians are the only Citadel species that actually do lay eggs, and of course those are the squishy amphibian kind rather than the calcium-shelled ones.

The fact humans and asari can bang turians leads me to believe their babymaking process isn't too different from ours.

(goes back to lurking)

edit: well, technically asari can bang anything, but turians seem to get enough enjoyment out of it that there are several instances of male turian/asari couples out there.

Oooh yeah you're right. I derped. I completely brain dumped the fact that a while ago Weekes confirmed this on his old twitter account. Unfortunately I am sans link to said tweet since he protected that account. Okay can of worms closed! But still so many mysteries left unsolved...

I'm not sure if it's in that link to "Evolution: Possible or Impossible" or elsewhere, but I did read something about this uh drink? (or something) that was made for Pregnancy Morning Sickness which contained something Dextro, it did work but the babies were deformed...

If I can find that section/post/whatever, I'll quote it here.. off to search.

Yeah, there's actually a footnote on the wiki article about it that links to Patrick Weeks' twitter, which means that it came straight from him!

There are several instances of everything/asari... I don't think it has to do with "babymaking", though, just pure... non-babymaking sex. Cause asari are Idk, the strippers of the galaxy. Please let's not go on about asari though, last time I did I got into a 10-page long ridiculous argument about feminism D:

And ahhhh I'm so glad they didn't go for a chicken look! Sexy raptor skull look is so cool. Yes I know I have a weird fetish. I need to buy that artbook though... I bought that thin ME2 one just cause it was on sale (along with a Garrus tshirt finally)

LOL'ing @ Smooching
And is it weird that that Shepard's face makes me laugh the most o_o not in an offensive way, it's just... funny looking

You're in the Garrus thread. No one thinks you're weird here lol.  In fact, I think you're the norm, man. (Garrus shirt was the best thing I've bought from that online store! >BD )

Lol well thanks RogueMumei, I don't hang around here a lot. It's just a lot of the time people say they like Garrus for the personality and the voice and and and... I don't disagree of course but I think he's physically attractive D: Which is why all these Garrus icons distract me... ~.~' and a few other turians.. ok a lot of them...
Though I've seen the Clan Vakarian NSFW thread and even I was traumatized
(btw pet peeve: furry artists drawing turians.. I just.. can always tell their animal/dragon inclinations)
Why do I keep bringing up porny stuff

Why? Because turian porn. Speaking of that, I'd recommend a great nsfw Shakarian comic to you, but if you were traumatized by the nsfw thread, then maybe I shouldn't... ^_^

@Soltana reginaprimata.tumblr.com . The artist of that comic made the viviparous comment up there actually ;)

And beautiful painting Sorael, you captured the scene perfectly!

I don't know, this isn't the first time I've shamelessly shared this comic in this thread and I know a lot of people here don't want to read it-- OH NO BOLIN BB DON'T CRY. THE PORN WILL MAKE IT ALL BETTER.

I was refering to QueenSimia's NSFW comic. Still ongoing and awesome. Which is why I shamelessly continue to share it with people. B) ...orz

Edit: Ninja'd!  And also formating is awful

HAHA yes...

I'll be in my bunk.

PS I'm familiar with QueenSimia's work but I didn't want to fangirl up there at her post and make a silly of myself. I figured this was what you were referring to but I haven't gotten around to actually reading it yet. Many thanks~! <3

I've seen that around but... uhh not my type of art style I guess. I do like porny things, a bit too much... (That thread is beyond porny things, it's.. give-me-eyebleach-pls and WHY, WHY things.. don't get me wrong there's some great stuff, but there's a lot of weird ass stuff too)
But. I'm just really hard to please :/ With art much more than with writing (at least you know I'm 100% sincere when I give a compliment? It's really well drawn imo, just not my style)
While we're on the subject though.. well I'm not sure if it's ok to ask... does anyone draw/write turians without an internal..organ? I'd want to know. It weirds me out cause it makes me think of animals.. like horsies. I get slight bestiality feels, so I just try to ignore the subject.
