Welcome to the thread!
Btw, I know we've talked about it a lot of pages back, but I like to hear you guys' thoughts (plus I'm in a rainbow and puppies kind of mood): when did your Shep realize she was in love with Garrus?
Thanks Karrie788!
Hmmm, good question.
I think when you get his mission in the beginning of ME2, Shep begins to realize Garrus means a bit more to her then her other friends and crewmates. Not saying she was "in love", but thinking he was shot only to grasp and open his eyes made her think, about what would she do if she lost him and she didn't want him not to be with her in this. Once back on the Normandy, he is concerned about Cerberus, not for himself, not for anyone else, but for her and what could happen to her. Then on Horizon when she finally met up with Kaidan again (and in my case, romanced him) and he treats her horrid, Garrus jumps to her defense and she thought," wow the man who is suppose to love me won't trust me, but the one who doesn't will" made her begin to realize that love has nothing to do about race and such, its about loyalty, devotion and sticking up for her when no one else will and it hits her, thats Garrus and certainly not Kaidan. Then finally, when you do his loyalty mission (paragon) and you completely trash all his plans and something he has wanted for a long long time, he agrees with her choice and never blew up at her (something I so could see Kaidan do to her if it was him, no matter how much he would claim to love her), she realized, this is the man I need and the man I know will never turn on me. Once she realized it, she knew she had done something she thought wouldn't ever be, she was in love with him. Also, the reason I think she offered the stress release idea, was because she wanted to know if he would even consider being with her and hoping he might love her too. She certainly didn't want to loose him as her friend and thought if he knew she loved him but didn't return it, he may walk, but if she offered sex and he said no, she could of said something like just teasing and at least not lost him completely. But if he agreed, she knew then he at least felt something more then just crewmate, especially given the fact she was a different race.
Also, in ME 3, I think one of the most touching moments was when they first meet up again on his moon and with all the other Turians around them, he grabs her hands acknowledging she was special to him and not just as her friend, because he doesn't do so with Liara, whom he has known just as long. With the bitter past between human and turian, to have such a public show of affection in front of all of them was just awesome. Nothing is better then the guy who is willing to say "she's mine" in public, knowing all of them could hate him for it and he still does <3
