Hey everyone, new to the forum! Big Garrus fan!!

On one of the topics I saw here about where/what Garrus would be doing the trial...we at least know (those who have watched the game play demo) that he will be on the Normandy when they pull Shep off of Earth once the Reapers invade. He and the VS are there shooting the enemies when the Normandy flies down.

Hello! I'm kinda new here.. I have been stalking this discussion for a while, but I'm usually scared of posting. I recently played through ME 1&2 for the first time and totally got suckered into the Garrus love.

In ME2 during the Archangel mission, I had no idea that it was Garrus yet.. But I ran into the guy who said he was a turian and got really excited, suspecting that it was Garrus. I thought that Shep was going to give him a hug, the way she threw her arms out made it look that way. Maybe she thought differently about it half way through it. lol

Is it only FemShep that offers the hug? I have noticed with different choices in dialogue that you sometimes don't get it.. not that he ever accepts it, poor guy is too tired at that point and probably thinks he doesn't deserve a hug.

I really can't remember. I played a male Shep not too long ago, but I honestly can not remember if he did or not.

I'm pretty sure that MaleShep does it too; think I've seen videos with him, but don't quote me on that. But yes, Shepard only throws his/her arms out in greeting if the player chooses the "excited" option. The other option has Shepard go "Garrus? What are you doing here?", sounding more puzzled than anything else.

It's a bit sad when that option is chosen, in fact, because Garrus responds with a tired (if not good-humored) "good to see you too, Commander".

Oh, and if Shepard never recruited him in the first place, I'm fairly certain that you don't get the option to throw your arms out at at all. Instead you can choose to either get straight to business, or vaguely reference meeting him in ME1.

Both FemShep and MaleShep do the same "huggy" gesture, and Garrus responds identically to both.

He REALLY needs a hug (or 10) in ME3.

Garrus needs hugs. If there is no epic Garrus hug in ME3 I will rage xD

Let's see, VS gets a hug, Liara gets a hug, Tali gets a hug, Wrex gets an epic 'SHEPARD! MY FRIEND!' Which is like an epic verbal hug. But Garrus gets no hug. And he is the most favoured (from my friends who play ME anyway.)

I think they are building up to a hug, so epic in its proportions, that entire galaxies will collide and planets will implode from the magnitude and power of THE Shepard and Garrus hug.

I think the reason a hug for Garrus wasn't included is because of the same reasons there wasn't any sort of physical intimacy in romance with him in ME2. In programming or art, the body shape is a little awkward to work with a humans, especially because of how... questionable graphics and actions are in Mass Effect, eg. handshakes, kisses and hugs with other LI's all look quite awkward if you notice.

Though, someone on the team DID say they are working on perfecting such little actions, so... Garrus hug? Yes, yes indeed.

It has to be true. I mean, why haven't they hugged before? Not because they can't but because it's their secret weapon to saving the galaxy.

It maybe old news for you but I just discovered that Garrus has a different line to male Shep compared to femshep after the recruiting mission if you say "Hell Garrus, you were always ugly, slap some face paint on it and no one will notice" - I always played as femshep and so I got the "Some women find facial scars attractive, mind you, most of them are krogans" line but today I played the first time as male shep and I got a different line, that people are normally hitting on Garrus and with his scars now Shepard has a chance too...

This was really a surprise for me - so he was indead flirting with femshep

Well, the "now you'll have a chance with the ladies" line doesn't really work on FemShep...Since no ladies besides asari hit on FemShep.

Yes that is true, hadn't thought about this. But they could have used the femshep line for male shep too - this would work.

Maybe it wasn't meant this way but I will keep pretending that Garrus is flirting with my femsheps with that line
