Eh I didn't care for it. We didn't really learn anything new and there were tons of inconsistencies. Her purple blood was one of the more lol-worthy ones. I think there was something in there about the geth being made thousands of years ago, and a number of discrepancies dealing with Dr. Michel and where Tali got the idea to talk to the shadow broker. It's not really worth paying money for, IMO.

Thanks for both the comic infos and the link above. Even if I had bought that comic, I would probably not have read it till the end. One single picture is somehow funny, but more of that - don't think my stomach would like it.

Anyway, just thinking that Rio would also qualify as "somewhere warm and tropical".

So, it's been awhile (like sixty pages), and I don't have the fight in me to flip through all of those pages I haven't peeked at to check how anyone else feels, so I'm just gonna ask-

How do you guys feel about the EC stuff? I'm STILL kinda confused about Joker and Garrus leaving Shepard behind at the end. I thought that it was obvious that the Normandy was outrunning an explosion BEFORE the added content, so Hackett yelling at them still doesn't make sense to me.

Joker already left Shepard behind at the beginning of ME2 (and in my head still feels guilty about it) as well as Garrus... I just couldn't comprehend either of them signing off on that.

I haven't played the EC yet but I want to know the conditions to NOT have garrus tell joker that they have to go. You know so that it's someone else that says it.

I'm pretty sure Garrus won't tell him to go if you have him on your squad for the extraction. On my game its almost always Liara, and I don't have her on my squad at the time. I think when I swapped them out it was Javik.

As for me with the EC, I actually enjoyed it. The catalyst, the choices, ect, will always be fairly silly. It isn't the ending I would have done. But the EC at least makes it a narrative, and that was my biggest complaint about the previous ending. As long as I can have my destroy ending and hopeful smile, I am pretty much content as far as being entertained.

For the major problems with the ending, I honestly don't think the EC could have ever fixed them.

I honestly think the EC didn't do much to fill plot holes. I kind of think it just stirred the pot and shuffled them around a bit. A lot of it doesn't make any semblance of sense, including the Normandy's escape and especially jungle planet. Srsly...Supposedly they were in standard FTL and not going through a relay but...there's no habitable planets like that in or anywhere near the sol system. I...argh *yanks hair out*

@HG: I took Garrus with me for the final push, and Ash was the one who told Joker to go. I'm pretty sure whoever you take with you won't be on the bridge.

Thanks guys. I was gonna take gar with me anyway but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get slapped in the face with that line! I would like to get javik cake ( you know like jaffa cakes...I give nicknames to my squaddies ^_^) to say it though. It would at LEAST be in character for him to say such a thing.

Don't know if it's still necessary at this point, but SPOILERS for EC following....

About the EC stuff: Well, I consider it an improvement over the previous mess, so I have decided to like it. Keeping the Catalyst was necessary for Bioware to keep face, so I wasn't hoping for any change there. Joker and whomever leaving didn't bother me that much, at least after the initial moment of anger, as a) both sound reasonably pained, while B) the explosion on the Citadel is either already visible or probably noticeable on all sensors. All squadmembers can assume that Shepard wouldn't want them to sacrifice their lives due to some noble idea of having to recover the Commander's body.

Jungle planet: Plothole or not, with Hackett's "Relays are severely damaged" I can both imagine the Normandy being thrown through half of the known galaxy while in transit, and it being able to return in a reasonable time since the whole network doesn't completely explode with a high EMS. Not perfect, but no complete contradiction to my headcanon, and with the Normandy flying away again in a Destroy ending (high EMS at least), I take it as "reunion is just a matter of time, they were just too lazy to show it".

The additional romance-related content didn't hurt as well. I especially like that the "memorial wall scene" reflects if Shepard lives or not, for me that makes it somehow more 'official' that Shepard is really alive and not just taking his / her last breath under a piece of rubble.

Sorry, I should have mentioned spoiler before I said something. Garrus was in my squad in London, then told Joker they had to go... but I had near-perfect EMS, they still stuck my name on the wall in the Normandy but I still got the 'breathing underneath the pile of rubble' scene anyways.

I don't think the EC really added anything. It rexplained/further explained a few details, but I felt a lot were kind of apparent. I guess the relays exploding made sense in my head already, since they talk about how the relays/citadel were made by the reapers in 1. Hackett did mention that the relays were severely damaged but not destroyed.

The bits and pieces of extra romance were nice, for sure.

Love the Rio pic.

Out of my three games, I had Liara telling Joker to go twice an Kaidan once. Garrus was always with me on the beam or, erm, "missing".

The EC lived up to my expectations. I expected that, at best, it would make the endings decent/bearable, but in no way could it make them great, since they wanted to keep the Catalyst in the equation, and I am convinced the mere existence of the Catalyst cheapens the conclusion to the series. Its logic is STILL flawed even after you ask details. It bases its entire plan on conjectures. I can't trust someone like that, especially one who rules the Reapers.

BUT there was that absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking new goodbye scene at the beam, there was a pretty moving slideshow (I couldn't stop smiling at Samara's) and the last scene was brilliant, very touching. I don't really care there's no reunion scene, sure, it would have been nice, but it could easily have been very cliché. As it are, the "best" ending is bittersweet instead of just bitter, and I'm satisfied.

Still hate Synthesis (no offense to people who like it), but I thought Control was wonderfully creepy. Destroy is still my preferred choice though.

I did the beam run with Garrus and Javik first, then Garrus and James - both times it was Liara saying they had to go.

[Spoilers] When I did my first EC run, I actually chose Synthesis first - even when I said I would much rather do Destroy and Control over Synthesis. But with the thought that with Destroy, yes there's the chance at a reunion but I couldn't bare the thought of sacrificing EDI and the Geth for my own selfish reasons (at least before EC they left it ambiguous), and the explanation on what Synthesis entailed made it bearable. UNTIL they showed everyone glowing green still, that did my nut in. So on the next run I bit my lip and chose Destroy, and I felt horrible, but it was nice seeing Garrus hesitate and 'smiling' while holding my name plate thingy.

All in all, I think I'm still headcannoning the whole of ME3's ending (7k EMS, dammit! For 7k I'm picking Destroy and EDI'll be there to give Garrus a hug without him glowing green and the Geth are gonna help the Quarians get out of their suits quicker, dagnamit!) but, as has been already said the EC makes the endings bareable; they no longer feel entirely bitter. Instead of sitting there when the credits rolled with my shoulders slumped and making a caveman grunt because there's no words that exist to express myself, I was in tears and smiling. That's a win in my books, despite the problems with the Catalyst.

Great pic of Rio.

I took Liara and Garrus first, then Kaidan and James, also tried Javik and James.  The first time, Liara told Joker to go, the last 2 it was Garrus oddly.   (that's femshep btw, tho sure it will be the same for both).

I chose the Destroy option first.  (Though I am still wondering how this will work with Shep lying in the rubble bleeding to death).  I also had 7000+ EMS through plugging all the "fetch and carry" missions..  Prior to the EC I thought yeah this will be a great ending..Wow, how wrong can you be.  Then Synthesis, wasn't too fussed with this option, though Shep does get to live on supposedly in some form or other.   After that tried Control - this was really creepy after the EC content put in.  Also did the shoot the Catalyst thing.

After playing it just after launch I wasn't too impressed, felt really let down.  I know it's a game and all that.  But on the whole I wasn't too impressed with the ending.  It didn't really match up to expectation after the build up from ME/ME2.  I suppose it never could really.  I just wish they hadn't used the whole Catalyst thing though, it was just weird and it didn't really fit in.  However, after playing a few times since the EC was installed, have to re-assess and say that on balance, the game as a Trilogy was outstandin and sets the bar for future RPG's in this mould.

There are some truly heart-wrenching moments in ME3, odd for a video game, never expected feeling that way but these people have been with me for some 4 years now and I've become quite attached...Some cringeworthy moments as well but I think Bioware did a pretty stunning job.  The visuals especially are awesome in places.   And if the game ending didn't quite match up, well I don't think it was ever going to.  Imagination can fill in the gaps.

Thanks Bioware for a great gaming experience, it's been quite a journey.

Fully agreed, especially on the last sentence.

I will still look for spoilers before buying the next Bioware game (or any game, to be fair), but all in all... it was a great journey.
And for the ending itself - imagination, headcanon, fanart and fanfiction. For rainbow-addicted fluffy-bunny-lovers like me there are always the small mods which are possible already. And if there's ever a 'construction set' kind of tool released by Bioware, I hope that I can take my whole annual leave for that occasion.

I like the look he gives a romanced Shep on Palaven a lot too.

True. That said, there aren't many looks he gives during the game which I don't like (never seen the breakups or deaths), I just can't stand the final goodbye for obvious "tragedy hurts my stomach" reasons.

Still, I'd have liked to see some more romance-only situations, maybe post-Collector ME2 style. While I am fine with the present romance scene for Garrus, I recently watched all other romance scenes 'live' (as in 'borrowed some savegames'). Okay, Kaidan's and Ash's scene's are somewhat funny clothing-wise, and I was, though warned, a bit bothered by Liara's.

But some more seconds for Garrus / FemShep, Kaidan/Ash-style or as in-between "Call Garrus up" opportunity? I wouldn't have said 'no'.

Did someone actually mod this scene with the Kaidan/Ashley stuff?  Is there a vid anywhere? I have to agree though that seeing this all I can think about is, damn there are sure to be some ripped pillows after this cross species liason.

Truthfully, if it helps anyone, Miranda's skulking around doing top Sekrit crap for Hackett. Who's to say she's not up on the citadel on another mission and finds Shepard? Thereby saving her ass twice.

Just a bit of headcanon to share. Maybe it'll help.

I like the different scenes and voiceovers we get for the choices now but the plotholes they'll introduce just to get the Normandy to crash on the jungle planet is ridiculous.

I'd like to know if it's possible somehow to switch around character models as well. There are some nice other scenes besides the pre-Cerberus one, like the cafe dates you get with Kaidan or Ash, sitting in Purgatory with Jack...

But if your question was about the screenshots that were quoted: No modding there, just a screenshot collection, a graphic-oriented program and some free time.

Hi Garrus fans :)

I've been searching for some fanfic of a reunion with Garrus and Shepard with the Destroy ending. Any links? My headcanon isn't enough.

So..I got a review yesterday on Loved where I was basically yelled at for my Shepard allowing Garrus to come along on Mordin's recruitment mission.  And because Meghan yelled at him for insisting he was fine and good to go instead of admitting he wasn't.

Er.... what?
