Great pic of Rio.
I took Liara and Garrus first, then Kaidan and James, also tried Javik and James. The first time, Liara told Joker to go, the last 2 it was Garrus oddly. (that's femshep btw, tho sure it will be the same for both).
I chose the Destroy option first. (Though I am still wondering how this will work with Shep lying in the rubble bleeding to death). I also had 7000+ EMS through plugging all the "fetch and carry" missions.. Prior to the EC I thought yeah this will be a great ending..Wow, how wrong can you be. Then Synthesis, wasn't too fussed with this option, though Shep does get to live on supposedly in some form or other. After that tried Control - this was really creepy after the EC content put in. Also did the shoot the Catalyst thing.
After playing it just after launch I wasn't too impressed, felt really let down. I know it's a game and all that. But on the whole I wasn't too impressed with the ending. It didn't really match up to expectation after the build up from ME/ME2. I suppose it never could really. I just wish they hadn't used the whole Catalyst thing though, it was just weird and it didn't really fit in. However, after playing a few times since the EC was installed, have to re-assess and say that on balance, the game as a Trilogy was outstandin and sets the bar for future RPG's in this mould.
There are some truly heart-wrenching moments in ME3, odd for a video game, never expected feeling that way but these people have been with me for some 4 years now and I've become quite attached...Some cringeworthy moments as well but I think Bioware did a pretty stunning job. The visuals especially are awesome in places. And if the game ending didn't quite match up, well I don't think it was ever going to. Imagination can fill in the gaps.
Thanks Bioware for a great gaming experience, it's been quite a journey. MASS EFFECT 2007-2012
