Yeah and I just noticed lack of scars and clan markings. Maybe it's in his younger days?

Also,

Well my Shep is a lousy flirter so I guess in that regard, the initial romance was perfect... still, I got her drunk to actually take the leap and express her interest to Garrus.

"This is pathetic. What could a woman do to put you in this state?"

Ha...Oh, Garrus...

Haha this is deliciously ironic :D

Although if Shep breaks up with him (who in their right mind would seriously do that is beyond me, but anyway), he takes it like a champ. Unless there's an off-screen scene in which he drowns his sorrows in alcohol, but I doubt it.

That is true! But I think that's more a testament to how deep their rad bromance goes. Regardless of romantic status or even gender, at the end of the day, there is no Shepard without Vakarian.

The breakup scenes in ME2 were pretty bad though, especially that last one...with the camera...on the wine bottle...

Okay, who left these onions here?

Very true. They'll be there for each other, regardless of romantic status. They're each other's rock. Their relationship is so perfect it's ridiculous.

Wish they didn't make him move on so fast with Tali if you break up in ME3. *That* annoys me, it's like poor Tali is the rebound girl or Shepard didn't mean that much to Garrus to begin with, which we know isn't true.

I'm probably the only person in the galaxy who thinks the ME3 break-up scenes were worse than in ME2. I can actually watch the ME2 break-up scene without feeling completely horrible. Maybe I'm missing something.

Garrus is so much more heartbroken in ME2 about getting dumped. Refusing him is like kicking a puppy. But in ME3 he's all good, just clears up the air, then goes ahead and gets a new girlfriend :P

I think I'll agree with you on this one, you might just be the only person in the galaxy who can take those scenes like a champ  Even Jack, who I had a repulsion to for quite some time, pulled at my heartstrings with her breakup scene.

But that's just it -- I can definitely see that he's very disappointed in the last ME2 scene, but I didn't think that he seemed *that* heartbroken. Obviously I fail at reading body language.

Even Tali's break up scene doesn't bother me that much. Miranda's in ME3 was devastating though.

Help me see the light, I feel so alone!

Sorry, no idea. Though I'd sign the last sentence, only for a different reason - I am probably the only one around who has not seen any breakup-scene ;)
Okay, with the single exception of shouting at Kaidan on Mars and sending him to Hackett after the Citadel coup, which equals 'breakup' if Horizon is not seen as the relationship end.

What's so bad about Miranda's, just out of interest? Would have guessed that Tali's is the more emotional one, with the whole "old friend" thing and the slight "hero worship" aura from ME.

Tali takes it quite well in ME3. I was very surprised.

Well, Miranda's always been portrayed as this strong, some would say cold-hearted woman that leaves little room in her heart for emotional complications (apparently anyway), so you'd think, knowing her character, that she would take it like a champ. Instead... well... she's devastated. To put it mildly.

See for yourself...

Tali is totally his Fleet and Flotilla F***buddy.  Sorry, Tali, but it's true.  I thought it was kindof funny catching them together, but come on, it would never work out.  Once those two get off Gilligan's Planet they're through.  Tali's got Admiralty resposibilities, and I can't see Garrus tied down on Rannoch.   He might try to go back to Palaven to help rebuild, but he'd also be totally content travelling the galaxy righting wrongs and fighting injustice wherever it rears it ugly head.  He'd be much happier living in unconventional retirement with Shepard - they're much better suited to each other.

Edit: Whoa, did I just see Miranda cry?  I thought her perfect genetics excluded tear ducts

Dat Miranda breakup...ouch. All I can say is I guess a war to end all wars changes people. It can also put you in touch with your own mortality and I can definitely understand wanting some kind of comfort or release when the world as you know it is falling apart around you. That's how I see Tali and Garrus. In the long-term, though, there's no way it'll last. They're two parallels, good next to each other but they'll never intersect, whereas Shepard and Garrus both lean on each other equally. Each of them is easily one half of a whole.

I'm not gonna lie though, Garrus/Tali will forever squick me out because for all these years, I saw their relationship as a brother/sister one.

Off-topic [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png[/smilie] You don't need a N7 character to do the operation. How to get N7 character ? Keeps buying PSPs. I spent a week playing and buying packs to have N7 Shadow and N7 Destroyer. It was worth it. Or you can just wait, if this operation succeed, we will get a N7 character in the Victory pack :)

Thanks for clarifying. Though my not-existing knowledge of the breakup-scenes is not due to lack of Google skills, but more of a "I don't want to see it" thing. That's why I asked for a short 'summary' ;)

Tali and Garrus... Yeah, I don't see a lasting relationship there, either. Which is one reason for me not to like the scenes too much, it somehow feels a bit 'cheap' to me. Still depends on my mood if I really dislike the whole thing or not, but for my canon FShep and my main MShep, it's not a problem anyway.

Sorry, I figured you know how to use Google  just wanted to give you the option to see it if you wanted. Plus I'm bad at summaries.

I think Tali and Garrus are kinda cute together, but... it was so out of the blue. Just a few flirts during ME3 that you don't necessarily hear, and BOOM! there you go, they're a couple. What?
People say that they are great together because they tease each other, especially referring to their ME2 conversation on the Citadel, but as Soltana said, I saw it more like a brother/sister relationship than a romantic one. Teasing someone does not mean you're in love with said person (or I'd be in love with pretty much all my friends). I failed to see a romantic vibe in their banter.
Ah, at least it made some people laugh. Though them getting together it one of the reasons why I have a hard time playing my Mirimancing playthrough. Yes, I'm shamefully jealous. Of both of them.

-clears throat nervously- So, um, hi everyone! I'm a lurker; I usually read this thread if I need a pick-me-up at work or a dose of Garrus w/o having to jump into one of my saves... Because 1) y'all are very funny and insightful people; and 2) who wouldn't feel better after reading about (read: gushing over) Garrus?

In any case, I was writing "Archangel, Meet Archangel" for my blog. I know there are a few Diablo/Diablo 3 players in the thread, too, but mostly... It's got Garrus in it and it made me think of the denizens in this thread, and that y'all might enjoy it even if you know nothing about the Diablo universe. So I gathered enough metaphorical balls to post to the thread and... er, well, here I am! lol

... Maybe I'll start posting more, too. <.<

Oh, I'm always up for honest critiques and suggestions to my writing! Just no Metandra-flambe, please, though I know you folks are generally too awesome for that sort of d-baggery.

Um, okay, that's it for now... -goes back to lurk mode-

It took me a steady week of attempting, but somehow, and I'm still not really sure how, but I finally got a custom avatar!

This is Pallas, she is my Garrus girl.  <3

Sia: I finished Loved and A Paragon of virtue and eagerly await the rest!  I'm reading up on all of Graceyn's stuff in the meantime.

Now I need to stop being afraid and try out modding my game so I can do fancy stuff with my Sheps hair like some of you guys. :D  So afraid I'll mess up something important though.

Welcome! Feel free to stay and post as you like, there should be beer, cocoa and more at the bar and a fresh cake somewhere on the next table.
Don't know much about Diablo 3, though, other than "too little time to risk to buy it".

@Sialater: Nice to hear :)

@Modding of hair: Never tried hair, just played around with a savegame editor and uniforms. Personal impression: Stay in singleplayer, backup everything and you should be fine.

Lurking is nowhere near as much fun as joining in the insanity. We need more people in here! I miss the days the Garrus thread would move like 10+ pages a day. In any case, welcome!

If you (or anyone here for that matter) needs help with appearance modding, feel free to shoot me a PM. I know it can be aggravating. I can also point xbox peoples in the right direction to get started on modding :wizard:

Do you, by any chance, know what's possible in terms of modding in ME3 by now? Is it just Shepard's apearance which can be manipulated, or are there possibilities to manipulate NPC appearance (like switching clothes or changing meshes completely) or developments towards this? I'd like to have some more Garrus-in-civil-clothes pictures, for example, so any hint if this could be possible some day would be appreciated ;)

To my knowledge, it's currently impossible to change NPC appearances outside of using texmod and I'm pretty sure it never will be possible. It's been like that at least since ME2. The way the meshes and stuff like that are packaged just makes it impossible. I don't even think anyone's cracked how to play as other NPC's ala ME1&2 yet. Disappointing...I remember when the community was still trying to figure out model swapping in ME2...and the nightmares that followed :D

@lostheretics: Yes! Join the madness!

It's nice to have a place where I can gush about Garrus... I think I've driven those guildmates whom I've dared to confide in to absolute madness with, "OMG Garrus did this one thing in the game that was soooooo awesome/cute/funny/badass..."

Edit: Holy cow... My second post on the thread and I've claimed TotP. Uh... Uhhhhh...

Here, let me know if this works.
