So is there any difference in the romance scenes for Leviathan if you do the mission at a particular time? Am I going to have to wait until after the date on the Citadel to start this? I suppose I should anyway, gives the relationship a bit more time to grow.

I should note that my fiance likes to watch me play video games (big reason why we're together) and I feel completely self-conscious whenever a scene with Garrus shows up, because I inevitably have a stupid grin across my face by the end of it. She makes fun of me to no end, naturally.

YES, it would have been nice to tell Kaidan that no, Shep is not rejecting him because "times are difficult", but because she loves Garrus. Sigh.

Yes, Garrus reacts differently if you've already had the date with him. And trust me, it's not a lot in terms of quantity, but it's Shakarian at its finest.

Still can't get over those two lines in the main battery.

I'm pretty much in the same boat and my partner just ends up teasing me relentlessly for boning a dinosaur.  I ended up taking the Xbox into the office this time around so I could fangirl squee in private.

It's really dark but if you look close enough you can see Garrus hand on Sheps shoulder - I don't even know if it's romance specific or if it something also non-romanced squadmates do .. I will look out for it on future playthroughs :D

That's awesome!  I totally missed his hand on Shep's shoulder when I played through.  I'll have to go back at try with another Shepard to see if her LI does the same thing or if it's just a special Garrus move.  He's the greatest.

I believe it's a LI-specific touch  -  Tali placed her hand on my male Shepard who romanced her, but none of the other characters (Javik, Kaidan, Garrus, etc) did that when I replayed the mission again with the same character.
(my FemShep who romanced Garrus also got the shoulder pat, but not with James or Javik)

Just played Leviathan, and taking everyone's reactions here to the Shakarian in the DLC I asked the bf to stay out of the room when I played it. Needless to say, I squeed. A lot. And I took EDI with me, so I got the lovely heroic-Garrus moment when Shepard's all weak 'n stuff.

Too many squee moments in that DLC for me.

Did any of you take the creepy husk head back to Shepard's cabin? Love the interaction it has with the hamster (poor Space Hamster!), though I kinda regret it now; that things going to be staring at Garrus and Shepard when they're spending quality time together :|

Yeah, I did. And I just decided that my Shepard will take the damn thing and bring it down to the shuttle bay and leave it with James when it is creeping her out too much .. he is the one that wanted it, so he has to take care of it then, hehe (I am sure he would love it .. didn't he wanna play bowling with it or something?) :D

Also, as I played (again!) through the DLC (now with another Shepard) I just have to say again how much I love it that Shepard doesn't come back unharmed after meeting up with Leviathan .. and not just because of the stuff with the rescue by your LI and the worry afterwards but because it just goes so nicely and consitently with the whole .. theme Mass Effect 3 has in general. A much more human Shepard. He/She is not invincible (anymore) and I really, really enjoy that. Also, when it comes to my favorite characters I always enjoy when they have to go through rough times/get hurt now and then/etc .. I guess I am kind of a sadist that way ;)

Finally finished the DLC. And let's just say, the creepy asteroid station is not a good moment to stop due to tiredness.

Which reaction? Brought the head on board as a test, just saw its trademark scream head-movement and nothing else, reloaded and left it to rot. Bit disappointed that the "cabin item" is neither interesting nor pretty, just morally ambiguous. A husk head? That was, in the context of the game, the head of a sentient being once. I wouldn't put a mummy in my own room, so my Shepard isn't really tempted to do so, either.

All in all... Still unsure about the DLC. Not a total waste of money, though. I liked the 'in mission interactions' between Shepard and Garrus, but I had somehow managed to overread that the romance-related on-Normandy interaction wasn't a dialogue, but a face-to-console auto-monologue. Too high expectations, I guess. Sure, the words are nice, but spoken to the console without any additional body-language at all, it felt impersonal. All other interactions, however small (hand on shoulder, gaze during last mission etc) felt much 'warmer'.

Leviathan reminded me of Norma Desmond from Sunset Boulevard, strangely enough. A faded former superpower that has not realized that the galaxy moved on. Arrogance instead of insanity, though. I was afraid that they might be a threat to any headcanon happy end I came up with so far, but my personal impression now is that there is no need to worry.

I don't think you missed it, but you didn't over-interpret it, like me :D

The look Garrus gives Shepard when she takes the mech, or the rescue situation, basically any concerned or worried look given in / before these situations. These add much to the mood of the scene, in my opinion.

LOVE Garrus... one of the few squadmates I could not picture ME without.
Quick question, if you miss the shot on the Citadel on purpose with a femshep, does that trigger a romance? And can you start one WITHOUT missing the shot?
And I want to do a Shepard without Garrus and Tali, but I can't bring myself to lose either one in the suicide mission.

Sadly, you cannot start a romance with Garrus in ME3.

Really? That's messed up... you can start one with just about anyone else. Posted Image

EDIT: Basically, my femshep romanced Thane, but now is eyeing Garrus since Thane's gone.

Personally i like that you can't just move onto another like that, prevents them from feeling like objects to bang rather than actual people....at least thats my take.

I agree taht it's not just an "on to the next one" mentality, but in the case where Thane is a legit LI and he DIES (can't be helped), why not allow it for that situation.

In other words, Thane romancers CAN move on. Anyone else? Not so much.

Hey guys, so there was a romance DLC survey that was done a little while ago and we finally posted the results of it. It was basically asking what you liked about the romances, what you didn't, what you missed, what you wish you would have seen, etc. There was no negativity behind this, I can't stress that enough. There was no malice. This is not a demand. That is not what we're trying to do. We're just basically asking BioWare to please consider our LIs in future DLC. No, we're not trying to turn ME into a dating SIM. That's not the idea either. Of course we would love to have character-centric DLC but I dont see that as likely or profitable, so we'll just see if anything comes from this. Also, we're looking for someone who might have video know-how and the time to treat a video of snippets of the romance scenes with Shepard and each LI and string them together so we can put it up once we hit 20,000 as a celebration. So if you think you might have the time or be willing to help, it would be greatly appreciated. But if not, please take the time to check out this survey.

Okay everyone I was thinking while doing my second playthrough of the Leviathan DLC.... In your headcannon, how many times - if any does Garrus spend the night in Shepards cabin, not just for sex but for companionship too. I was thinking 5:
1. At the beginning of the game, soon after Garrus is back on the Normandy, perhaps when the Primarch leaves (due to the bottle of wine Garrus buys them but it is not shown or mentioned later, hence they must have had it).
2. After she says she loves him
3. After the DLC stuff - he's worried about her and he doesn't want her to be alone that night.
4.After Thessia, because everyone is bummed out over losing the planet and Kai Lang, so they might have some 'tension'
5. Before attacking the Cerberus base

What do you guys think? Also I think that he suggests staying in her cabin more than she suggests he comes up. Mainly due to the fact in my headcannon he sleeps in the Main Battery and that cant he comfy. In his lovers quarters he has a shower, comfy bed and of course a nice view from the window.

Yep, same. My Shep probably asked him to, er... move in with her. Right after Palaven. I think they both need company and emotional support at this point.

Haven't been on here in awhile but I just finished the Leviathan DLC last night and Garrus' 'nobody better hurt Shepard' line made me grin like an idiot for like 20 minutes. By the way, how do you trigger the hand on the shoulder? I don't remember getting that scene. I played the DLC twice.

It's at the beginning of the creepy mining station mission, when you talk to the first miner. Keep choosing the "left" choice (not sure if really necessary) to make the conversation as long as possible. With Garrus and EDI as squad, I got Garrus to touch Shepard's shoulder while advising her not to push her luck.

About Shepard, Garrus and their respective sleeping habits: Imagination says that Garrus moves in with Shepard directly after confirming that she's still interested after Menae. I'd guess they both need the comfort (not only talking about stress relief here) provided by the other.

Mine's pretty much the same as yours.

I don't think they'd "move in" together, purely because Shepard is the Commander and - while I'm sure Garrus and Shepard's relationship is no secret aboard the Normandy - it just doesn't seem professional for them to be sharing the same quaters. They both have responsibilites and their relationship (sadly) isn't a priority in the middle of a war. Instead I think he visits her at key moments during the game where the stress is particularly high. Jane visits him more often than not down in the Battery; where they spend 10 minutes here and there together, not always talking about the war but about more mundane things when they need to take their minds off the current situation.

Then again, Garrus does seem mighty comfy when Shepard wakes up from another nightmare befrore the attacking the Cerberus base. Maybe in actuality he spends more time up there than I think, but there you are.

I think we can all agree that no one's Shepard spends the night alone after the Leviathan DLC ;)

This goes for my Shep, as well. The future being unsure, why waste any precious moment they can possibly have together. :)

Yeah I was also thinking that even though they are 'joined' that they want to remain professional and not destrupt the crew.  Garrus consideres them in ME2, and it is an Allanice ship - so there are rules. She has to be seen as the chief of the ship and her cabin is her own personal 'war room', cant be seen that when your boyfriend lives there too. So I also don't think they'd move in. But he is there more often than not, kust hanging out perhaps even checking  Shepards guns (no pun intended) in his own protective way. I was thinking about the scene when Shepard wakes up on top of the bed covers in her underwear.... As Turians feel the cold perhaps she'd turned up the heating, as he would be naked and cold naked might uh... hinder some equipment perhaps. Thus the heating is on, and thus she is too hot to be under the blanket, she has to sleep on top. Well that's my head cannpn anyway :P

I see your points and that they can be valid for some Shepards. For mine, it's just different. Alliance ship or not, Shepard is a Spectre and a large part of the squad can be non-Alliance, so I don't see their rules as completely binding(*). If it's only a question of respect... Whoever doesn't respect Shepard due to personal behaviour in her rare free time in the middle of the Reaper war would be kicked off the Normandy by any of my Shepards anyway.
And I don't want to imagine Garrus in a small sleeper pot or in the crowded crew quarters.

(*) Still doesn't stop me from being slightly angry about the "Kaidan outranks Shepard formally" thing.

Bah.  I've pretty much buried the Mass Effect franchise, but stupid sexy Garrus keeps dragging me back, at least for a few surreptitious peeks on YouTube.
