[...] By the way, how do you trigger the hand on the shoulder? I don't remember getting that scene. I played the DLC twice.

It's at the beginning of the creepy mining station mission, when you talk to the first miner. Keep choosing the "left" choice (not sure if really necessary) to make the conversation as long as possible. With Garrus and EDI as squad, I got Garrus to touch Shepard's shoulder while advising her not to push her luck.

About Shepard, Garrus and their respective sleeping habits: Imagination says that Garrus moves in with Shepard directly after confirming that she's still interested after Menae. I'd guess they both need the comfort (not only talking about stress relief here) provided by the other.

The one behind the desk? And what do you mean left?

Sorry for such a delayed response, I was house sitting with a friend.

There's two miners behind the security desk on the asteroid. And I believe Seleya means the "Investigate" option on the dialogue wheel. You know how when you can choose what to say, there's two or three options (a Paragon, Neutral and Renegade usually, if three. If two it's usually a yes or no answer) on the right side? Well there's occasionally options that point to the left, and allow you to talk a bit more in depth about the conversation. I can't remember how many times you have to choose the Investigate side but I think it's twice.

Sorry if I've over explained ^^;

PS: I never really saw the  hand-on-the-shoulder as a LI only gesture. To me it just looked like Garrus was holding her back from decking them one or something xD If it is an LI only gesture then that's grand, but it didn't feel like one.

As Armdin says, the "Investigate" option on the left side of the dialogue wheel. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Regarding Garrus and Shepard's shoulder: The dialogue should be the same, but the gesture was missing on my Samantha-romancing Shepard. I'd say it's romance-only. Same with "But Shepard..." and "Never do that again", and the obvious conversation on the Normandy.

Garrus is intrigued by the thought of these ‘dogs’. They just don’t have things like that on Palaven; no loyal companions, no creatures to keep laying around the house for his own entertainment. But, when he walks into an Earthen shelter with Shepard, his eyes fall on a dog and he’s damn curious, and he’s feeling that impulsive touch that tells him that he doesn’t have a choice; he’s getting this dog. A husky—aptly named ‘Menae’ because (as Garrus puts it) ‘Turians aren’t creative- I couldn’t think of anything better.’ Menae’s got bright eyes, touched with insanity, that look so much like his own that he calls it a sign from the spirits- an excuse that he would deny every time Shepard mentioned it. Menae turns out to be a little too much like him, from the blatant disobedience of rules (but done in a humorous enough way that Garrus really can’t stay mad for long) to the loud ‘a-woo-woo-woos’ that she would howl out until Garrus came over to see just what the hell was the matter.

And just like him, she only showed affection to one person—sometimes.

My Shepard is going to adopt Urz, so I hope Garrus can adjust to Varren as well.

Bah.  I've pretty much buried the Mass Effect franchise, but stupid sexy Garrus keeps dragging me back, at least for a few surreptitious peeks on YouTube.

Can't say I blame you. Still sorry to hear it, your fanfictions were a joy to read. I'd have liked to see a happy end for Kaliya, but with all those imaginary tombstones around saying "ME - What Could Have Been", I am not sure what I'd done if I were an author, either.

Still holding stubbornly onto my own half-imaginary happy end though :D

@ Armdin and Seleya_LL:
I totally figured out what you guys meant and now see why I thought I didn't get that scene. I get the line from Garrus but for whatever reason he's invisible so I don't get to see the hand gesture. :(

On the up side Garrus' rescue makes me squee every time with fangirlish delight. As well as his 'nobody hurt you line', it's cute actually seeing him as protective. Obviously he's always been protective but here it seemed more about the relationship and less about Shepard being his comrade/best friend if that makes sense.

Same here! :(

I think I've played the rescue scene... five times. Skipping the Leviathan dialogue, of course.

It is tragic that he's invisible.

Since he told Shepard never to do her solitary thing again and go into a 5 second coma do you think it triplely killed him on the inside when she forces him to leave her when running to the beacon?

Also anyone else imagine their Shepards cussing out Leviathan? I always imagine mine yelling at them saying she's not there to breast feed them and wipe their asses. How did they plan on keeping her there to serve anyway? Not like her suit was going to last forever underwater.

I loved the extra Garrus content. I wouldn't want him to become completely over protective because otherwise he and shepard just wouldn't work.

I think for me it was the 'never do that again' line. It was just delivered so well.

But I did grin so much after the line on board the Normandy. So much win there.

If your Shepard likes blue-black armor and the Kuwashii visor plus the Phaeston for role-playing reasons, it would look something like that.

Or like that, if you use the flycam.

Mine wears the Kuwashii Visor but her armor is made up of phoenix colors in contrast to Garrus. And let me just say Awww! <3 In response to those pictures.

Aaah! Your gear looks gorgeous! I always default to the Blood Dragon armor for my Shep, less bulky than the throw-together ones (plus the stats work better for my Adept).

And flycam~ *swoons*
Flycam makes me regret playing ME3 on the PS3... You know, alongside the bad graphics and late DLCs.

Aw man, now you're making me wanna replay the game with flycam and FRAPs and the whole works.  I've never done it before, and I was planning on installing all that stuff on the new hard drive after reformatting.  Hmm.  Tempting.

Nah, I like my Shep too much to not give her a happy ending, even if it's only in my head.  She and Garrus are still my favorite fictional couple even if I've soured somewhat on the franchise.  I'm (slowly) working on my own headcanon fic of the endgame (from Thessia on), but it's honestly less fanfic and more complete rewrite. SO MANY plot holes and stupid devices to eliminate.  It'll be a while before I think I can post that fanfic.

Special shepard request for flycam? I only have the game on 360, and no prepared to spend another 80 bucks and install origin just for a couple of screens, but if anyone was kind enough that'd be tops.

Has anyone figured out the reason why Garrus goes invisible yet? I haven't had time to replay the dlc and record it again but I'd love to know what causes it and avoid it.

That's great to hear. With longer fictions or collections of shorter ones that I like, I tend to become somewhat attached to the different Shepards, even though (or perhaps because) they are usually at least somewhat different from my own. Therefore, I like to make that imaginary little green "okay" sign behind a story, to say "yeah, they'll have their happy end".

Regarding the disappearance glitch: No idea, though I'd guess it's not (only) performance-related since my own system is pretty low-end and I have yet to experience it. I do get the ladder glitch, though. Very annoying, especially since it occurs in Leviathan as well and the default "lower graphics setting and go" workaround doesn't work there, either. If anybody else suffers from it: Looking "up" or to the side during the animation (so that the animation itself is not shown) worked for me.

About flycam pictures: My free time is usually limited, but if it's an easy request, I can look into it. Though I can't offer high-resolution pictures, either.

@Karrie: You are welcome :)

Yeah, I get attached to other peoples' Shepards that I like.  (Hey, Sia, how about that fanfic? *nudge nudge*)  And it's always nice seeing other people's take on the story, relationships, etc. especially since my Shep is a bit of a weirdo.

This game hates me. Went to watch the pre-cronos scene for old times sake while i had the game in there, said the disk was scratched and sent me to dashboard.

Careful, there. Sure, it starts with Fraps and a flycam, but before you know it, you end up with 300++ screenshots of your favourite couple, switch headmorphs like crazy and begin to hijack other romance scenes plus random backgrounds to get... yes, even more screenshots.
Don't say I didn't warn you ;)

Hi all, I am relatively new here, but I figured if anyone would know, my fellow Garrus fans would.  Does anyone know if Garrus was aboard the Normandy SR-1 when it was attacked by the Collectors at the beginning of ME2?  My impression is that he wouldn't have a reason to leave Shepard, and when you talk to him in ME2, he says: "After the Normandy was destroyed, most of us went our separate ways."  (See video: youtu.be/Wtj-yxHHwFs)

I only ask because there is currently a discussion on Garrus' Talk page about which is the case. (masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Talk:Garrus_Vakarian#Garrus_on_board_Normandy_SR-1_during_Collector_attack)
