Much as I love that, I can't let the relationship be one-sided where only Shepard takes. What does Garrus get out of it besides a hot, badass, human chick on his arm?

In my case, an extremely supportive partner always willing to help. And laugh. And other things. She's always ready to remind him what a great leader and person he is.

And yes, he was her first alien lover, hence the fact that she was extremely nervous before their first night together. Besides there's the fact that they were such good friends, and she had a few commitment issues.

My girl had a ton of commitment issues which played into why she was so promiscuous. The only reason why she was nervous with her first night with Garrus was because she actually cared about him. Everyone else were one night stands or strangers with benefits. Let's just say she has more than one copy of Fornax. Before Garrus if you got her drunk enough she would probably have slept with a Krogan, not sure about Hanar...

Her younger self was actually a lot like Jack, now she's queen of the girl scouts. She still headbutts Krogan. By the time the ME series actually began she had already stabilized herself a great deal, Garrus healed the rest of her broken parts.

For my pure-paragon, blue-glowing, spacer + war hero Shadow, Garrus isn't only her first alien, but also first general boyfriend. Not because of some deep trust issues, but because of a dislike for casual relationships and a somehow naive belief in "the one true love". Happy to report that for her, that has come true.

Paragon Seleya, who is a little more realistic and has probably much more fun in her life (like headbutting krogans), there were perhaps one or two marines before, then Kaidan, and perhaps an asari in-between.

And Paragade Revan with her background on Earth has never trusted anybody enough to let him or her close, both figuratively and literally. She probably seduced many in her gang days, but either knocked them out and robbed them or simply killed them. Paranoid as she is, she'd not let people close even during her time in the Alliance. Garrus is the only one who has really gained her trust, and it's only thanks to him that she has finally been able to sleep without at least two daggers, one pistol and five grenades under her pillow.

Paragade/Renegon (changes all the time, her scores are really close) Lexie wasn't that much interested in casual relationships either, but I actually headcanonned her dumping her fiancé a few weeks before their wedding after learning from him that he cheated on her. She hadn't given up on relationships altogether after this, but had a hard time trusting anyone ever since (and not just for relationships); as for getting a boyfriend, whenever she started to like someone, she constantly told herself "now is not the time, maybe later". Until Garrus. I guess boarding the Normandy somehow was the best thing that ever happened to her.

And that's it, I give up, I'm going to hook Renegon Gabriela up with Garrus. Damn that awesome chemistry between the two of them!

... after playing BG:EE, obviously. And rebooting Dragon Age.

I know!

... I loaded. I couldn't picture Lexane actually going Why yes, total stranger that I hardly know, I will accept asari sex as a reward for the job!

Damn, I just wanted money.

Oddly enough with all my Shepard's past flings she did not sleep with the Consort. The Consort touching upon her psychological issues kept her at arms length. Plus she had calmed down a lot from her wild years. On Omega after her resurrection she did buy a copy of Fornax in front of Miranda and Jacob as a middle finger to Cerberus.

So random question but I'm curious, was Garrus any of your Shepards first alien lover?

Yep, and her first genuine relationship.  She's had the occasional casual fling to blow off steam, but she pretty much held everyone in the galaxy at arms length until she took control of Normandy.  Then she discovered the power of love and friendship :P

Note to self: Copy that idea in future playthroughs of ME2. Haven't thought about that, but it's a great idea :D

Regarding the Consort: I am very, very glad that my first char was paragon only. After that, I checked out if I had missed a romance option and read about that option... Never taken the offer, can't see it for any of my Shepards, for different reasons. Taking that option without being warned - wow, I'd have reloaded as well. After recovering from the shock.

Well, I knew what would happen. Meghan didn't. Meghan needed more money. She didn't refuse, though, because she was just that stunned. She now calls the Consort a cheapskate. Lol

Yeah, later she ended up growing to like and respect Miranda. Technically Jacob too (I personally don't like him though I've tried). She still hates Cerberus no matter what having the Sole Survivor background and all. I bet Cerberus just loves what she and Garrus were using that nice bed for.

First alien lover? No not even her first turian but only her second serious long term relationship.

The Consort stepped too close too quickly physically and psychologically for Amelia to even consider sex.

Now if only Cerberus hadn't ALSO lost their balls as a villain in ME3 <_<

EDIT: Stepped back out into General Discussion.  Remembered why that place is scary, even six months later

In ME3 it's either fighting Reapers, Reapers in weird uniforms or Reaper code in Geth platforms. Basically zombies everywhere. It is great that ME3 shows a somewhat hopeful (no irony) take on the apocalypse, where basically any and all splinter groups suddenly activate their brains and decide to work together, albeit with a little persuation in some cases. But it makes for very, very repetitive fighting. I liked the bosses in ME and ME2 - bringing that Blue Sun turian Kuril (?) down on Purgatory was satisfying. That slave-trader basically cried for a well-placed sniper bullet from the beginning. But bringing down a brute or a banshee? Necessary, and on higher difficulties satisfying in a "yeah, I didn't get killed" kind of way, but no "emotional" satisfaction, at least not for me.

If Garrus had to choose one...which would he choose?

Calibrations
Talibrations
or Shepibrations

D'awwww.  Though careful with that omnitool blade during hugs.  Also, I was sad that Adept Shep only got the omnitool blade for cutscenes.

I really like the adept's falcon punch, it was a lot of fun with brutes :o, that and the infiltrators double blade are tied for me.

This is true.  I like to think Garrus yelled at my squishy little Adept for jumping into battle too often with her falcon punch ^_^  He's a bit of a worrywart.

I imagine that too. Poor little Adepts now think they're Vanguards.

I have that trouble with my Adept. I was used to Soldiers (played ME2 twice and ME3 once as one) so I was kind of used to standing in the open and screaming; "Say hello to my little friend!" as I fired any kind of weapon maniacally and things died in a pleasent circle around me.

But I noticed that a lot of fanfic writers Shepard's were Adepts (at least the one's I read seemed to be), so I had to see what all the fuss was about and was surprisingly pleased at how strong they were once you got some talent points into them. But it's been difficult learning how to duck. :C

Yep.

Worrywart Garrus is pretty much the story behind Amelia's Defence Drone bonus power. The difficulty I play at I didn't need a tech power as long as I had a tech squaddie.

Nice. Would you mind posting a picture of the figure without the plastic around, once you have come back from gamer-heaven again? ;)

Edit: ToP. Arrgh. Could someone please swap this post with the last one, please?
...
I guess not.
Anyway, here are more examples of my personal "would it really be so bad to show something like that for the Garrus romance, too"-list.
