Asari live about a millenium.  Liara is about 109 years old for ME3.  That, essentually, makes her REALLY REALLY young for an asari.  If she's your love interest in the games, does that mean Shepard's a pedophile?

A century is 100 years old, do you mean a millenium (1000 Years)?, by your reckoning she's pretty old for an Asari.

An asari on Illium mentions she's 60 and finally out of her parents' house. So we can assume that asari reach adulthood around that age. Samara said Morinth was on her own by 40, and that's young for an asari.

You overhear an asari on Illium say "I'm finally out of my parents' house at 60 years old." So, "finally" makes it sound like they leave the house earlier than 60, and if they follow human standards, that average age of people leaving their parents' house is 18-20? Therefore, 109 isn't anywhere near being a "child". She's still very young, though. But frequent melding can make her enter her matron stage earlier in life.

Yeah I couldn't romance her in ME1 because she came across as a really bright 14 year old to me. She 'matured' substantially following Shep's death though.

I'm glad they managed to get rid of that vibe while still keeping her feeling like the same character.

Both Tali and Liara gave me a "young girl with a crush" vibe in ME1.

Um I think Liara is the pedophile in that sense. Sense age is important to their society all humans never get beyond teenagers to them so Liara may be a late teen by Asari standards but shep is even younger. I never got the whole Asari and humans thing sense they would be dating their grand kid in some cases age wise.

The Asari don't really have much choice but to date people younger than them though, considering the whole pureblood stigma (ruling out dating an asari for most of them) and the only other species that lives as long as they do are the Krogan.
