Well, what's done is done. That definitely wasn't Michael.

Mordin didn't need to hold the line...he changed where it was drawn. One of the best ME2 characters, I would wholly endorse a bonus disc of "Professor Solus sings all the classics" CD, or
a "Mordins Top Tips to dealing with Scale Itch and other problems" or even (my favorite) Mordin performing McBeth on stage.
*raises glass* Here's to you Professor.

One of my favorite scientists in science fiction at that. Only Walter Bishop from Fringe and The Doctor from Star Trek: Voyager come close for me.

He just manages that absolutely perfect balance of genius, eccentric mannerisms, and outright humor. Everything he says he says with an almost perfect delivery that shows no hint of just how awesome it was.

Bonus points for being a former special OP.

Yeah, seriously. :(

Regardless of how many posts we get, though, I just think it's important that the good doctor is represented, even if only by just a bit.

Yep, seems like there's a good few Farscape fans on the BSN Zero, that always makes me really happy to see.

It's always a shame with some of these charector threads, they tend to get pushed down onto the depths to make way for a bunch of frelling Romance topics. Mordin deserves better than obscurity on here.

The nice thing to remember is that Mordin has a lot of positive critical reception. Digging up all the ME2 reviews I could find, he was mentioned quite frequently as the writer's favorite character.

I think his middling BSN mentions really just stem from the most passionate fans coming here and much of what they wish to discuss is indeed the romance angles and the like.

Too true, and yeah, I remember a lot of the GOTY discussions for ME2 discussed Mordin (as a regular over at GiantBomb, The fact that all four of the guys agreed he was their favorite during their GOTY deliberations was very awesome)
I'm interested in seeing what Bioware have planned for him, I think as a popular character he has to be around for us to interact with (if he isn't dead that is) but I don't think that really neccessitates he be a squad member. I can see him fulfilling a role like Chakwas or Joker on the Normandy.

That's been something I've thought about before, having him on the ship without necessarily fighting. I'd really dig that option.

Oh man, I was multitasking and I just noticed your thing about GiantBomb. That's fantastic news!

@ JeffZero

You should put a link for the old thread in your OP, just as a reminder of the few, the proud, the Mordanians. We did NOT hold the line, but we put a little effort into it....... remember us.

Mordin's an all around amazing character. Surprisingly well-rounded with a difficult past that's dealt with in a refreshing way. I was so excited when I found out he was going to be in ME3.

"Flammable! Or inflammable. Forget which. Doesn't matter."   (will burn either way :P)

I'd love to see more of him beyond the krogan-related mission that we'll definately be getting, according to ME3 demos, anyway. Ideally, I'd like him back on the Normandy even if it isn't in squadmate capacity, though I could be persuaded to part with him if he'd be leading the team that's researching/putting together some way to shut down the Reapers...

I'll miss the sex-ed talks and Gilbert and Sullivan, though :P

Love the quote! Oh, he's so full of them, isn't he?

I'm thinking Mordin would indeed be ideal for hanging out on the Normandy but being too focused to go on missions. That said, like you I'd be fine with him working on a way to fight the Reapers from afar. In either case, his skills are being put to excellent use.

I died laughing when Mordin starts telling my Male Shepard: "I'm sorry Shepard, but you're not my type." He goes on to say that he knows you're enamored with him - and that he's honored.

I was like... WTF? I hadn't even thought of you that way Mordin... I mean, you are awesome... and I'm all for dudes, but - you're a frog!

It was still hilarious though. Does everyone get this little comment? I had originally thought that it might be because I hadn't romanced anyone in both games.

So "naturally" his conclusion was: "Shepard single, must be waiting for someone, unavailable, Shepard is a hero, likely looking for someone equally amazing, poor man, he wants me, must remember to turn him down gently.."

Hahaha! Yes! I've heard that one before. Easily one of his best. Few crazy doctors in fiction have come close to his level of awesome for me.

Inflammable or flammable? Can't remember which. Doesn't matter.

Mordin is the best salarian in the 'verse.
