We don't currently know, nor do we technically know 100% for sure that they are. But Beattie's comments both to me and to Vertigo via email definitely tell us that he believes he's been replaced, which is the worst news we can possibly get on the matter short of BioWare flat-out confirming it.

Unless they pull same thing like with Keith David in ME2.

Indeed. Clock's ticking though, and for whatever reason Beattie also seems a lot more adamant about it than David did...

I had high hopes he'd be back last minute, but indeed after this...I don't know. Well we just have to keep tweeting them, hope Bioware'll see the threads about it (which they probably will.) and wait 'n see.JeffZero wrote...

I definitely had high hopes too. It wasn't until Vertigo showed everyone the response from Michael Beattie that he got back on November 8th that I really began to worry. My own email's response from yesterday was even more troubling.
C'mon, BioWare, give us a sign here! Not undergraduates, BioWare!

Another voice actor to replace the brillant Michael Beattie? Not an option, not an option. Lots of ways to help Bioware and their fans. Sometimes sing Gilbert and Sullivan to amuse fans; sometimes getting my original voice for future game, calm fanbase down, stimulate cash sales through loyalty.

Indeed, I hope they'll make some kind of statement on it soon, since I can't make sense of it really.
he might not have a big support thread, but he was one of the most universally praised characters of ME2, so it seems like something (big?)must have happened for them not to have Beattie reprise his role, I can't think of anything. (<- that probably goes for as all.)

@Jaldaris: Hehe, thank you. I needed a laugh and you delivered one! Excellent parody.
@Mr. Brainheart: Yep, the support threads tend to get huge only if they're for romance options. (I should know; I've posted in almost all of them at this point. I love all the characters, heh.) But Mordin is definitely a household name for just about everyone who's played Mass Effect 2 and I can't stress this enough, the critics absolutely adored him. Without that same zest to his voice, people are going to take notice.

Legion doesn't have big fanbase either, but his voice actor is back.

sent a message on twitter to Casey and Cab livingstone with support for Beattie, can't imagine anyone else voicing Mordin as well as him.

I lend my support to get Beattie back. Another VA is not okey. Will send a few tweets to Casey and other people on Bioware with my support for Beattie

I support the return of ALL the original VAs. Kind of shocked somebody was considering NOT doing this, so yeah you have my vote.

I'm still wondering what the heck has happened for them not to invite Beattie back. he did a fantastic job with Mordin and he sounds like a nice guy.
like others said - Meer is a great voice actor, but Beattie IS Mordin.

Well they still have time to do the recording. Mark Meer did him for the demo, probably because they had him in the booth and Mark is good at altering his voice. Same as how Jennifer Hale will pop up all over the ME games sounding totally different. I wouldn't worry just yet. If they are really still revising the script, it makes sense to wait until it's 100% locked before bringing Beattie in.

Will a petition work, or does that seem elementary?

Bioware doesn't allow petitions.

Seriously, does anyone know why he won't be in ME3? Is it paycheck reasons?

Why would it even cross their minds to replace Beattie? IMO, Mordin has the best voice work out of all the squaddies. It'll be very disappointing if Beattie doesn't return in ME3.

It would be awful if Beattie does not return for ME3. What he gave to Mordin and the performance behind it was beyond measure. Mordin and Beattie's life that he gave to Mordin is one of the very few positive aspects about ME2 ('s cast lineup).
This would be such a shame. And a waste.

Well, ask yourself. Why would they replace a quality voice actor that goes with the character? The budget has been cut. They'll be using Mark Meer because it's probably cheaper to have him voice a crapload of characters, than get a new guy just for one character.
