Honestly, Mordin can go jump off of a bridge if Beattie doesn't return. I wouldn't miss him at all. I'll probably try getting him killed on purpose.

Extremist is extremely extreme. Mordin's a great character, he's deep and funny. Michael Beattie was brilliant as him, but does that mean without Beattie he can be none of those things? Do I want Michael Back? Hell yes. I'm aware you can't have everything you want however, and if he turns out not to be in ME3 I won't randomly hate Mordin for it. Maybe if his replacement is rubbish I will, but changing voice actors is not nearly as bad as live actors changing between sequels. And however voiced him so far at least did a great impersonation, for I had no idea.

But yes it seems unfair to Michael and I feel the same way about Jack Wall, since they'll still be using his work.

I completely agree with this.

If they change Mordin's voice actor, it will basically be Anders all over again. Not to say Adam Howden did a bad job of him, but I could never shake of the feeling that the character was lessened without Greg Ellis.

Spread the news that Beattie hasn't been contacted. Contact BioWare (but be polite! They're people too, you know!) and express your dissatisfaction at the thought of someone else taking over the role.

You heard it straight from the mouth of Mordin... we need to make some noise or it might not be Michael bringing us philosophical musings and hilarious showtunes come March.

BW should consider bringing back Beattie. He sold Mordin so well. He brought life and humor into the character, not to mention the unmistakable quirkiness that can only be described as Mordin.

I just realised posting a printscreen of the e-mail here was a huge disservice to the cause. There is no way Bioware will ask someone who supports a boycott of them to come back.

I'm not sure, that might be true, but he's merely stating how unlikely his return is with that, in the same mail he's stating how he loved bringing Mordin to life and basically how he'd like to do that again.

Unless he is grossly misjudging the situation, we're not doing more harm then there already was inflicted between them I'd say. Although...weell as I said, I'm not sure.

The first thing I wanna hear now is simply a statement from Bioware, so we can either make sense of the situation and understand, or deem it unneccesary that Beattie isn't returning to reprise his role.

If he doesn't return, it sucks but I'll get over it. Whomever has been doing Mordin's voice in the demo's was fine, but I heard the difference.

I'd just really would like to know why they replaced him, if he was in fact replaced. It just doesn't make any damn sense.

I agree, Meer did a decent job of impersonating him, but as often is the case, it still sounds like someone trying to impersonate someone else. Something was missing for me and instead of enjoying the character i'm just constantly thinking about how his voice sounds different.

Now Mark Meer isn't going to be the voice actor anyway, so right now I just want to know what's exactly going on between Beattie and Bioware.

he wants to even before all this praise.  he hasn't been asked to - which is why we are campaigining.

I hope the campaigning will help Beattie, he deserves the opportunity to reprise his role as Mordin for he did a fantastic job of it.
