I hope they are. I mean...maybe they just chose not to announce it, and Mr. Beattie was pulling our legs to keep us guessing? I won't allow myself to be disappointed until I hear Mordin talk in ME3.

Don't know if everyone knows but Bioware is done all voice overs now... and no Michael Beattie ;-; I'm gonna cry *runs away sobbing*

Edit: just read and you guys already know... I'm fracking sad now... I don't know what to do with Mordin anymore, he's like some fake squadmate now..  why bioware?

According to what I've read, SEVERAL important VA's weren't announced in addition to Beattie. This doesn't necessarily mean they won't be in the game, just that they weren't formally announced. So don't rage yet. Bottle it up and unleash the fury on March 6 when you can actually confirm it.

I've been out of the loop for a while, but with all the noteworthy support Mordin has had, it seems likely Bioware is aware of our issue with Beattie possibly being replaced.

That said, that twitter post to me, quote: "Any guesses on who our last character recorded was?" Screams Mordin. Maybe I'm just optimistic, but I'd really like to think of it in a positive light where they're simply teasing us. I can't imagine why they wouldn't have Mordin reprise his role.

I've been reading this thread and I may have a possible reason to be optimistic.I just checked the mass effect 3 cast list on IMDb and every mass effect 2 character is listed except Mordin, yet Mordin was one of the first returning characters announced.

Also Wrex whose voice actor was changed for the demo is listed as Steve Barr and Mark Meer is only listed as Commander Shepard.

Considering they seemed to get every original voice actor back it would be strange if the one person not brought back was Michael Beattie who seemed very interested in voicing Mordin again.

I've been in contact with Michael Beattie for some time (if you remember I was the one who originally posted the email message saying he hadn't been called back to voice Mordin a few weeks ago)

I have an update.
I sent him an email that contained the tweet from the VO Director saying that official VO work for ME3 was finished.

I just got the response from him a few minutes ago:

Wow.

Why wouldn't he be the VA for Mordin, lack of fan support?  Might as well not include any of the Orignal VA's for the NPC's as well since they don't have "support" threads....  honestly.  Probably just my inner nerd going over 9000 and I'm usually open to the idea of new things, but I have to wait and see how this replacement does.  Though knowing that it isn't the same VA might make me oblivious to what the replacement can do (he might pull it off perfectly, bah).

Wow....really Bioware? You scrap one of the best Va's I heard from a game. I mean Mordins Va was brilliant! What are you gonna use those precious resourced saved from a cheaper Va? Mordin is what helped MAKE ME2. Thats okay, all of the "important" characters have their VA's back...

i dunno guys, im thinkin this is akin to the Dr.Who syndrome. where someone new plays our favourite character, we start off hating them in the beginning, but by the end, cant imagine the character being played by someone else.

overall, this is STILL Mordin, even if he ends up being voiced by kermit the frog its still mordin.

I thought us over at Jacob thread had it bad (character-wise in ME3).

I am a huge fan of Mordin as well as Jacob and I adored Beattie's voiceover. He even sent a recording of himself in reply to an interview (how awesome is that!).

Officially. Despise. ME3. So. Much.
