I miss Beattie in the demo. It's just not the same without his sniff.

Bring him back or I won't buy the game.

Contract law may be preventing Mr. Beattie from speaking as freely.

My bet is that Beattie asked for too much money.

They have money for a PSP licker but not a genuine character actor.

It really makes me ashamed to be a Mass Effect fan. It's like going to a really cheap strip club and immediately regretting it.

I have to say that I greatly dislike Mordin's new voice from the demo. It saddens me that Beattie is gone.

You cant underplay Mordin...he is the very model of a scientist salarian! He had some of the best lines in ME2.

I thought the containment field was just distorting his voice...
:crying:noooooo
Mordin was never MY favorite character but he was in the top 5. And he was undoubtedly the deepest. He made you laugh, he made you mad, he made you feel awkward, and he immersed you in the game verse. Shame on you Bioware for cheaply replacing him. It cheapens the character and quite frankly the game as a whole. Get your heads out of your asses and let Beattie play Mordin as nature intended.

I thought the new VA (Mark Meer?) did a decent enough job. Still not quite as good as Beattie, but good enough.

It's not Mark Meer he did a placeholder voice. The new voice is too high-pitched I feel and although he sometimes gets close enough for me not to be too bothered by it, some lines throw me off, especially when Mordin loses his calm a little.

I don't like it, but I think I can live with it, as long as Mordin doesn't get a lot of scenes where he's acting a bit nervous and panicky and instead just stays calm.

That section of the demo felt weird to me. I kept pointing my rifle at him and going "you're not Mordin! You're...just a parody of what he was." and then sobbing over his pleas to "take care of Cerberus first."

I'll probably get used to it. In time.

I suppose I should be glad that this is the biggest thing I have to complain about in ME3.

I not really sure who's doing the new voice for Mordin but I was surprised at how close they were able to mimic what Beattie brought to Mordin in ME2. Having said that I do miss Beattie alot, just beacuse the new VA came did the character justice does not mean that he was in Beattie's league. During the demo I kept thinking there was somthing off about Mordin's voice and everytime I hear him talk I am reminded of the fact that the role has been recast, it's going to make it very hard to enjoy Mordin anytime he appears on screen in ME3 since I will be too distracted by the new VA/Michael Beattie controversy.

I'm greatly dissapointed that Beattie did not return, but the new guy doesn't deserve hate for that. He does a decent enough job that I can tell its not Beattie but it is believably Mordin.

I can accept that with a heavy heart.

I think I'll get used to it, but the new voice doesn't feel as natural for Mordin. Beattie made the hyper dialogue flow and sounded exuberant and into it. The new one sounds like he's trying, but that's half the problem. It doesn't sound like it's natural.

His voice sounded near spot on to Mordin now. I'm happy with the replacement and probably won't notice the difference between them except when I'm playing ME2

I am probably making a big deal out of it because I am currently replaying Mass Effect 2. The new actor is not bad but playing the games back to back makes it annoyingly obvious that it is not Beattie.

Ok I was reading through this thread, and couldn't understand what you guys were talking about.. I can hear it now though.. I looked up the demo on youtube.. and after closely listening to Mordin, I can barely tell it's not the voice from ME2.. It's close but not quite.. his voice also sound a bit deeper and not as higher pitched.
